Happy December 26th!
I hope all of you had a Blessed Holiday with family and friends. My day was very special! I was fortunate to spend lots of time outside with my new “BBF”…BEST BONDING FRIEND, Pirate Queen. We really relaxed, grazed and enjoyed ourselves. The day was PERFECT! Donna worked with us most of the day. It was fun to spend the holiday with her and all of my new Lane’s End Farm friends.
Sarah also made it possible for me to TANGO (that is a new phone thing) with Ann Moss on Christmas Eve. We have done FACETIME before…but this was the first time that we TANGOed. (I thought I’d be pretty good at this as I am known for my ‘dancing’!) It worked out perfectly…and was great fun!
John tried to call Sarah to do this as well! What a great way for me to keep in touch with my CA FAMILY and BARN 55! Hooray for technology!
Today is OPENING DAY at SANTA ANITA! I wish EVERYONE a GREAT MEET!
I also want to THANK all of you for the amazing cards and gifts. The entire FARM is enjoying all of these things. Dottie gave the cards to The Moss’ to enjoy. John read them as well. This is so special, so kind and so thoughtful of all of you! THANK YOU!
Donna is here! Time for me to go outside and PLAY! I love the schedule I am on at the FARM now!
Have a wonderful day! Please relax, have fun, and enjoy your friends and family! I think I’m now truly beginning to get the MEANING OF FRIENDSHIP AND FAMILY…AND HOW SPECIAL IT ALL IS!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

Hi Z!! I’ve been away from my computer for a few days and I’ve missed you!!! It’s so good to read about you again! I’m glad you are still being pampered and looked after carefully and thoughtfully… and Dottie… my goodness what a friend she is to you!! You’re lucky to have Dottie in your corner! and of course all the rest of your Barn 55 team and the Mosses.
Z, I gotta tell you something! Today, my sister and I went to the rec center pool and after a while we started this game! We ended up calling it the Zenyatta game! We were racing and chasing each other and if one of us “came from behind and won” we yelled out “and Zenyatta wins it!” we laughed so hard and it was sweet to think of you and all your come from behind wins…
I also saw a black horse today at a horse barn and she was pretty and reminded me of you. But, there will never be another you sweet Zenyatta. Thanks for keeping us informed of your doings.

i have been around horses since i could walk. i trained, drove, groomed, walked and loved everyone of them. i saw many great horses in my life. secretariat was my favorite. i believe he is the greatest horse that ever lived. now i met the greatest female that ever lived when i met Z. i have there pictures side by side. i believe someday they will meet. the 2 greatest horses that ever lived. what a wonderful thought it is. i pray for both of them every morning and night. i love them equally now. i never thought i would ever love any horse as much as big red. but this mighty female has found her way to my heart. god bless her and may god keep her safe.

Hi Zenyatta I had a wonderful time at Santa Anita, Got the 2011 Calendar with You in two Months February and October. You look great. Missed you being there but I understand. I wore one of your shirts today and someone said Zentatta – nice shirt!!!!
Anyway, I am happy you had a wonderful Christmas. It would be cool if you had a web cam that we could all watch you on, especially when you get to run and play in the paddock.
Love and Hugs- Gloria

Hi Miss Zenny. I’m so glad you had a wonderful Christmas and got to ‘TANGO!’ You are too awesome! Reading your post tonight is just the thing to give me sweet dreams. Love you and God Bless You, Lane’s End, and your friends and family.
Anita
I watched some of the Santa Anita races today. I love Santa Anita — we go way back! My grandfather first took me there as a little girl in the 1950’s! I watched the race with Switch, who you beat. And also the Malibu. It was very exciting. It was so nice to see racing there again. The new dirt track is apparently very fast. I can imagine you would have loved it! Good night and sweet dreams, Sweet Zenny.

Queen Z, so glad you had a great Christmas day. Sounds like you got alot of Christmas cards and gifts. My daughter gave me a beautiful picture of you and Mike and he signed it! I have it in a frame right next to my computer so I can look at you everytime I’m on my computer. I also have your Breyer horse and Calendar. You are my “Queen.”
So glad you and your friend Pirate Queen are enjoying the pasture together. I’d love to see you roll in the snow. I can just picture that in my mind and it makes me smile.
So glad you and Dottie are keeping us up on all your activities. I, also look forward to your daily diary stories. I, to would like to know about this Tango thing. I know about Skype but this Tango thing has me puzzled. I skype with my 12 yr. old Grandson and it is soo much fun.
I hope you have a wonderful New Year. Look forward to hearing about all your new experiences. Love you soo much.
Jess
Hello Sweet girl. Merry Christmas, a late one at that, but have a happy and healthy new year. And be safe Zenny, we all love and appreciate you so much!!! Hugs to you big girl. See ya in Kentucky, Love,

Zenyatta, I am so glad you are happy and doing well in your new life. But we do miss you so! Went to the openner at Santa Anita today and it was just not the same knowing you are not returning. Still, so much that reminded us of you. I think you would have been very proud and impressed with the race run by Switch. She dominated! Just magnificent! But it also reminded us of your greatness in winning over such an outstanding filly that last time we saw you run at Hollywood Park.
Oh, Zenyatta! We love you so. You gave us something so special, so extraordinary, so unforgettable. And all honors to your connections. A special shout out to Mike Smith, for not only being a great rider, but also very nice and good man. He has been wonderful with the fans, and I will always be greatful for how kind he was to my mentally handicapped daughter. He is a true gentleman and a gift to the sport.
All of you: Zenyatta, Jerry and Ann, John and Dottie, Steve, and Mario, and Carmen, and Mike Smith, THANK YOU! You have given us something truly great, good, and memorable. We will always be beholding.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Zenyatta! We will love you forever. We hope to visit you some time in the future at your new home in Kentucky. Tom, Mary, and Jamie.
Nancy

Hi Zenny! I just got home from a party and decided to read yourlatest post @12:45 AM. I’m so happy that you had the chance to communicate with your human mom Ann Moss.just like the others on this blog, I want to know the meanings of TANGO and FACETIME.These must be technical terms that I’m not familiar with.
I sooo miss seeing you at the racetracks but I know that you are happily adjusting to retirement life. Have a happy and healthy New Year to you Zenny and your Team in CA and KY.I look forward to your future posts.
Sue Ann Wilson
I look forward everyday to your posts, I hope to see pictures of you rolling in the snow!

BTW,those Candy boys won yesterday…you know, Sidney and Twirling. I really like those guys but Twirl broke the Bid’s record that was set in 1980 and I LOVE the Bid so that was sad for me. Switch won too and she thanks you for retiring,LOL

My Sweet Lady Zennyatta, I am so glad you had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. I am so glad you and Pirate Queen had a great day together. That’s so important for you to have a relaxing day to enjoy the outside with a friend. I had a great Christmas too. My brother gave me a wonderful scene of horses running and the 1st horse looks just like you from the side. I was thrilled to get that. I’ve started a photo collection of you, Zenyatta. I just love having you around the house. I’m glad Land’s End Family gave your cards to the Mosses to enjoy. You are so important to your Fan Family. Thanks for the posts! I love you, Zenyatta! You have Blessed my life. Hugs & Kisses from Alabama with love, Amanda

Merry Christmas “Z” I love reading all about your days at Lane’s End. It looks like you are having the time of your life there. I read your post everday. I love seeing you and your friends. It makes me feel happy to know you are doing so well. Keep dancing my friend.
Stella Bagwell
So glad your day was special, Queen. As always my family and I thought of you. Especially as we watched the opening day at Santa Anita. It made us recognize your greatness even more and miss you even more. Yet we love that you are settling in to your new home and getting to do the things that horses naturally love to do–graze and play with a best friend and get treated to lots of love and attention. We’re sending our affection your way, Queen! Stay safe and warm as you play in the snow!
Love and hugs,
Stel

Thank you Zenyatta for your so upbeat posts. It just gets me going every day during this gloomy, cold winter. You are the sunshine. Happy days to you.

How old is Pirate Queen? I bet she can not keep up with you. I am so glad you are happy. I want video of you rolling in the snow. Any word on your first date? You are loved and are the horse of my lifetime. HUGS and KISSES

Queen Z – wishing you and all your servants the very best of things in the coming year. When I visited Lane’s End a few years ago, it struck me as a quiet, routine driven place. The stallions were spectacular. I hope they know that the treats are coming from you. Bet they discuss who is best suited as the sire of your first foal. Lane’s End must be in shock with all this, but they will get it all figured out. Hope they do by the time I visit KY again. Hopefully you will be in foal, and your fans can visit.
Phyllis
Just want to congratulate the Moss family; your trainer and wife and groom and wife for sharing so much info. about you, Zenyatta. You and the above people have done the most to promote the Thoroughbred industry to the general public. You seem to be so much like our American Saddlebred horses – very ‘people-oriented’.
Roberta
Tell us more about your new friend Pirate Queen, and what you “talk” about in your paddock and the games you play together. Two Queens!! That’s really special.
