Happy December 26th!
I hope all of you had a Blessed Holiday with family and friends. My day was very special! I was fortunate to spend lots of time outside with my new “BBF”…BEST BONDING FRIEND, Pirate Queen. We really relaxed, grazed and enjoyed ourselves. The day was PERFECT! Donna worked with us most of the day. It was fun to spend the holiday with her and all of my new Lane’s End Farm friends.
Sarah also made it possible for me to TANGO (that is a new phone thing) with Ann Moss on Christmas Eve. We have done FACETIME before…but this was the first time that we TANGOed. (I thought I’d be pretty good at this as I am known for my ‘dancing’!) It worked out perfectly…and was great fun!
John tried to call Sarah to do this as well! What a great way for me to keep in touch with my CA FAMILY and BARN 55! Hooray for technology!
Today is OPENING DAY at SANTA ANITA! I wish EVERYONE a GREAT MEET!
I also want to THANK all of you for the amazing cards and gifts. The entire FARM is enjoying all of these things. Dottie gave the cards to The Moss’ to enjoy. John read them as well. This is so special, so kind and so thoughtful of all of you! THANK YOU!
Donna is here! Time for me to go outside and PLAY! I love the schedule I am on at the FARM now!
Have a wonderful day! Please relax, have fun, and enjoy your friends and family! I think I’m now truly beginning to get the MEANING OF FRIENDSHIP AND FAMILY…AND HOW SPECIAL IT ALL IS!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

The birth of Zenyatta’s first foal will be one of the most highly anticipated and celebrated events in history. We’ll all be hoping for a successor to the Crown so if it’s a colt it could be named Ze King, or King Z. If it’s a filly it could be Princess Z, Ze One, Lotta Zen, or for either sex it could be Successor. No one can replace The Queen but we will still want someone to rule that decends from the Royal Family.

Hi Z How are you this evening? I am so glad you are having so much fun. Now, you have to explain this “tango” a bit more! It was beautiful her in California today. We had a storm last night but the sun was out today-a lovely day! I look forward to more pictures and another video! Love you Z!

I hope you’re not getting the snow we’re getting in New England :(

If you sold your posts in a book form, would you be the first horse to make the Best Seller’s List??

Merry day after Christmas, Zenyatta. I’m so glad you are doing well. I went to the opening day at Santa Anita today….and was wishing you were there. The new track is nice and fast! We saw lots of great races.
I had a very Zenyatta Christmas! My sister gave me the Blood-Horse magazine dedicated entirely to you. It also included and awesome 8 x 10 picture of you. She gave me a Breyer 2010 Zenyatta ornament. Then she brought out an incredible painting done by Marcie Heacox. It is an abstrace with your blaze done in your silk colors. In fact, it was so wonderful I bought the other painting she did with your blaze. If you want to see it you can go to her web site: http://www.thegallopout.com She takes so many amazing pictures at the tracks and, of course, has lots of shots of you.
As you see, I have been thinking of you this holiday.

Zenyatta, first let me say, I LOVE YOU!! You seem to be have a great time with your new friends and at your new home. I am so happy for you. I was sort of thinking maybe you could be on Dancing With The Stars. What do you think? You would be the best ever on the show. Maybe a world tour where everyone all over the world could get to see you in person. Last, but not least, I think you could bring peace to the world which would mean you need to run for President. You would be the best ever at that also. Don’t I just have silly ideas???? I am so glad you have a gal friend. That is so nice. What do you talk about?? I bet she wants to know all about your amazing career. I hope you tell her every detail. I guess we will all be moving on to the New Year. That is a good thing because as the months pass it will be time for me to travel to see you. You will have a schedule for visitors by then, the spring. Truly, to You, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES AND THE ONES TO COME. Take care and enjoy!!!! xoxoxxo PS: About how many cards did you get????

I wore my new ZENYATTA scarf to Opening Day and it kept me nice and warm up in the COLD grandstand. There was some great racing. I think you would like the new track : two new track records in one day!I haven’t seen a crowd at the track like that since YOU last ran … let’s hope a lot of your fans were there and they will find new favorites to follow through the year. Switch got a big cheer when she won; I’m sure lots of people knew about her because she ran against YOU. Happy Day after Christmas, big girl!

Dearest Z–
So glad you had a great day! You must explain this TANGO and FACETIME stuff to us granny-types who are hopelessly behind on our technology. But anything that helps you “connect” is fine by us. Love you loads, and these posts are a highlight of my days during this cold winter. Love you always, sweetie. Good night. Talk to you tomorrow.
Leslie–we have a racing pedigreed Quarter Horse/Thoroughbred too. He is beautiful.

Beautiful Zenyatta, And a Happy Dec. 26th to you. I heard you rolled in the snow today for the first time, now that must be the biggest snow angel ever and I know you must have felt so good. I am so happy for you that you have your friend Pirate Queen for company, as you say, friends are so important and keep us from being lonely. Thank you for taking the time to write to us today and thank Dottie too for her participation in this task. You do keep her busy! MUCH LOVE FROM ME TO YOU.

Hi Zenny, I’m glad you had a nice day with Pirate Queen.
I’m not up on the all new phone things – what is TANGO? Well, whatever it is, I’m glad you were able to spend some time with Ann. I’m sure that was very special for both of you!
I’m glad you are doing so well and enjoying your retirement.
Love you,
Leslie R.

Hi, ‘Z.’ Did everybody see the small picture in The BloodHorse.com of you walking, I think, w/ Donna through the trees? Beautiful, and the colors soft and very ‘Currier & Ives.’ ~ The Rose Parade will feature a float to benefit Wild Mustangs, ‘Zen.’ Can’t wait to see it, and will be grateful to you for the spotlight you shine on all horses. ~ What good girls you and “PG” are. Bye, bye, bye for now . .. Love the sweet potatoes for your treats! Khc.
Ann Maree
Hi, Zenny, can’t wait for more pictures and videos of you rolling in the snow. I’m trying to learn the names of all your Lane’s End “people”….I think Donna is one of the Broodmare Assistants…guess Charles took a few days off! Glad you are happy, Z…take care. Hugs! Ann Maree

Well Queen Z, now that you have retired, it gave Switch a chance to win a race today at Santa Anita. What a mark you have left behind.
Donna from Baltimore
I really look forward to these posts. It is so great that the Queen’s Cali connections can see her everyday by remote. I hope someone posts video of Z rolling in the snow. I hope you all had a cool YULE.
