Dear Friends,

I truly hope each of you had a marvelous holiday! We did here at Lane’s End. Everyone celebrated together and then again with their families and friends. TASTY and I had such a terrific time! People are so kind and we sincerely want to THANK YOU for the cards, well-wishes, and goodies you sent our way. All of your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.

Dottie asked ME to share with you one very special gift that she received from a very dear fan and friend, Candace Jones. The gift is absolutely amazing! It is a beautiful and very detailed scrapbook she made for Dottie and MY JOHN…which covers my entire career. It is absolutely gorgeous and something to be treasured forever!

The gift wrapping was even very unique! It is TOO CUTE with all of the Z Z Z Z Z ribbon!


I must say, you guys are so clever!

I know lots of people are busy getting all of their YEAR END things completed…however, please remember to take some time to ENJOY THE MOMENT!

    Zenny, YOU and Dottie and John and the Mosses and the rest of YOUR Family, you have helped us to ‘enjoy the moment’ more than anyone else I can of in recent memory. Of course we personally try to listen to God every day and He shows us such wonders and brings into our lives such kind and interesting people and we love all of our critter family here. But the time and kindness and encouragement and inspiration that you all have consistently given to all of us Zenny Fans is just so awesome.

    Hi, Sweet Mama! More and more people seem to be checking in on your Facebook page to see how you are, when your baby is due, etc. You are about 100 fans away from 95,000! This is truly remarkable, I think. You are so special and always will be. I’m grateful that you are in a place where you seem to be happy and enjoying your “retirement”, although I wouldn’t call being a “mommy” true retirement.     Something I’ve said for years and will repeat here
    IF YOU DRINK DON’T DRIVE AND IF YOU DRIVE DON’T DRINK.! There is nothing wrong with having a designated driver–it’s much safer. Get a cab or if you can spend the night wherever you are.
    Host a party at your house and PAY for a great bartender that knows how to water down drinks.
    Make sure you get a good dinner before heading out. That will help you not drink on an empty stomach. Also make certain you have a glass of water between drinks.
    AND A WORD ABOUT ACCEPTING DRINKS FROM SOMEONE YOU DON’T KNOW. Don’t do it. That drink could be spiked. Of all nights to be out partying this night you need all your faculties. ALSO KEEP YOUR DRINK ON YOU AT ALL TIMES. That really cute guy at the bar who you’ve been making googly eyes at all night THAT YOU DONT KNOW might be out to spike your drink.
    Sorry for sounding preachy here but so many will be out partying and if you can remember one thing here it might be just keep you safe.
    I hope everyone has a wonderful safe New Year. May it find us all here safe and sound. And more resilitient about stopping that awful practice called horse slaughter.

    P.S. Rapid Redux’ connections say he will likely run a couple more races in 2012 and then they will retire him. They are considering Kentucky Horse Park, Old Friends. Here’s BloodHorse article: http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/66736/retirement-home-being-sought-for-rapid-redux
    They seem to want to be sure he can contribute to the sport in a positive way…I’m hoping they send him to Kentucky Horse Park….so many activities there, and I know he would be a draw for visitors. He has been fun to watch.

    Hi Zenyatta –

    It’s nice to hear that you had a wonderful Christmas. Dottie and John enjoy the book, it sounds fun! I have one too that I have made along the years – it’s fun to look back on when I get sad about Zenny being retired or when I want to smile.

    I was at opening day – crowded but fun for sure! I saw Mr. Commons win and saw Dottie in the winner’s circle and John off to the side – he is too cute.

    What a beautiful gift! Saw your John and Dottie and company as I was leaving The Derby, no doubt celebrating Mr. Commons’ electrifying performance in the Sir Beaufort! :)
