To all my dear, loving fans,
I want to THANK all of you for your support, encouragement and love.
I gave it a good GO in the Breeders’ Cup Classic…and tried my best! I’m home now at my Hollywood Park Barn. The flight back to California was great. My friends, Mario, Frank and Harmonious, traveled on the plane with me. It was a smooth trip!
The last week has been exciting and thrilling! I had a great time in KY and everyone was so kind to me. I posed for hundreds and hundreds of photos yesterday alone with so many fabulous fans. They brought me Z cakes, apples, peppermints, and carrots. They hugged me, kissed me, and made me feel so special. I am one lucky mare.
Then when I got back to the barn there was a great WELCOME HOME ZENYATTA sign hanging at the barn. People signed it with such sweet messages for me! Everyone makes me feel so special.
Today, I’ll walk and relax a bit and, of course, GRAZE! LUCKY ME!
Hugs to all…and again…THANKS TO ALL OF YOU for being so loving and supportive of me and all of TEAM ZENYATTA.
With great appreciation…
Love,
Z

Dejó todo en las pistas, la vamos a extrañar. Se merece absolutamente todo, al igual que todo caballo de este planeta. Buena vida Zenyatta!

Zenyatta you will allways be the queen. Your last race was so spectacular as you came again from last and lost just by 10 inches. Doesn’t seem hardly fair but you showed what a race horse is and your in the same class as Man O War and Secretariet. You will allways be remembered as one of the best mares of all time. Your owners, trainers and crew are the best and show the class of horse racing as it should be.
I hope you make the best babies of all time like yourself. But I can’t think of one stallion to name that is worthy of you.
Love You Zenyatta

I love you so much Zenyatta, youre the greatest race horse in history!

It was heartbreaking to watch you come so close, but in my eyes you didn’t lose. You will always be the greatest race horse I’ve ever seen. I hope one day to meet you and tell you to your face. Give Mike Smith a kiss when you see him, and tell him it wasn’t his fault. Love ya, Big Girl.

Love does not fade quickly…your fans will always be there for you. You are an inspiration, a gift and a race horse like no other. You brought new people to the track to see a “Superstar” and you never let anybody down. Your performances in every race have been spectacular and we can now look forward to seeing your babies running in races with pride. Thank you for what you did for racing. To Team Zenyatta,
My friends and I are sending a three-page letter to the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, the Daily Racing Form, and the National Turf Writers Association supporting Zenyatta’s candidacy for 2010 Eclipse Horse of the Year Award. We’ve made what we believe are strong, rational arguments. Each of us is sending our own signed copy of the letter to each of the organizations. I will send copies of the letter to Mr. Sherriffs at Hollywood Park.

Zenyatta, no matter WHAT ~ YOU are the Horse of the YEAR for 2010.

Dear John and Dottie, the Moss family, Mike, Mario and everyone associated with Zenyatta,
Let me tell you about what Zenny meant to me. Zenny gave me hope and a belief in something, she made me forget my troubles for a moment and think about something else. She gave a hurting nation in a tough recession something to believe in, something to hope for and to put their worries on pause for a moment. Let us ALL, not forget the “ZEN” to Zenyatta. What I think she was trying to teach us was this. You may start out last, you may be counted out and bet against to fail. You may find before you, unsurmountable odds, you may think that you started out to late and will never catch up and to try to get in the race now, would be futile.Zenny, knew that she had to be the head of the pack, that she had to get there. Against males or females made no difference she was determined to be the head of the pack, to just get there! The finish line is irrelevant and invisible, it’s not whether you win or lose. It’s what it took to get there. Well she showed all of us what it took to “GET THERE.” It took determination, strength, confidence, stamina, faith and a big heart. As long as the Race is still on we all still have a chance, just don’t give up. Your pace in life may not be the pace that others want for you and maybe not the one you choose for yourself, but want counts most is just getting there. To your own Finish line whether real or invisible, at your own pace under your own terms. Thank you Zenny for teaching me these things and more. I believe Zenny wanted to show us all, I AM ZENYATTA. I will dance and prance and pose, I will make you laugh and cry. You may count me out and bet against me, I will have challenges before me, but I am determined to be the head of the pack. I will get there under my own terms, at my own pace. Believe in me or not, win or lose, but I will get there. I believe animals choose us we don’t choose them. Zenyatta choose all of you to help her, get there. To help her become and show the world I AM ZENYATTA. She needed all of you to help her, encourage her, watch her grow and especially LOVE her. I am sure that you all did not ever contemplate the lessons that she would teach you on your journey with her. I believe God choose all of you to be in her life. You will all take with you, moments that Zenny gave you, the ones when their were no cameras or videos around, those special moments when, it was just you and Zenyatta, the look she gave you, watching her sleep, eat or just running like the wind, or pawing at the ground. No matter what numbers are reflected in history books or racing ledgers about you Zenny, won’t matter. I pray that what history will say of you and your legacy will be, what it took to get there. That it shows that big Heart you had, your determination and strength, the fight you had in you to get to the finish line. I hope that history will also show your jockey Mike, was a noble and loyal friend, he loved you so very much. You ran for all of us, not just your owners your jockey and trainers and handlers. You wanted us all to see the “ZEN” in you. Thank you for teaching me Zenny, I saw in you this, IT WAS NOT WINNING THE RACE THAT MATTERED IT WAS HOW YOU RACED THAT MATTERED!! Some even called you God’s horse, God keep your Zenny in your protection and surround her with love and kindness the rest of her life. Thank you for sharing Zenny with all of us. Your perfect record was not diminished by your loss, sometimes you have to have a little dirt on your face to be perfect,to tell your story. That is what shows character that is what made you PERFECT!

I will love you forever no matter what! I am so blessed to have met you in person at Oaklawn and I got some great pictures of you in the test barn. You are the greatest and the last race was not your fault. I am just happy that you are sound and happy. I bought a Fred Stone limited edition canvas of you and will treasure it forever. Please keep us updated on your the direction your life takes and I will be praying that you get your rightful Horse Of The Year award. Love you always, Merrill

ZENYATTA: Thank you for a another thrilling race! Seeing you give it your all, AGAIN, against all those boys, on that different track and with all the dirt flying, well, you are one classy dame! You showed us all again why we love your heart, and why you’re a true champion queen. I am so glad I got to meet you at the 2009 BC Classic last year – I’ll never forget it or you.

Oh Zenyatta!! I love your beauty, your enthusiasm, your love of running, your dancing, and how you have made us all love you. I feel priviledged to have shared all these wins with you and Team Zenyatta, and how they let us get close to you without really being close to you. I feel like I was a part of your life and i’m so grateful. I am so happy that you made all 20 races without being hurt and can go back to the farm and live a more relaxed life. Make beautiful babies Zenyatta. I hope I will be around to see your babies run. I will miss you more than you know, along with all your fans !!Be a good girl and don’t drink too many beers!! Love you!!!!

Just this ole backyard thoroughbred breeder hoping your future will be even brighter than you past, if this is at all possible. I never had the pleasure of meeting you but lovely lady, in the few years I have left thank you for the thrills of watching you run with the wind. I shall hold you in my heart as I know God holds you in the palm of his hand.
Judith Coghlan
Z you are still the Queen. You got there, an amazing close, as always. My heart stops and my throat closes as I watch you reach from deep within to win. You thought you had won, then I saw you turn your ear as you went away from the winners circle. For a brief moment the expression in your eye changed, as if you heard a soft, sad, cry from your rider. Then, as a queen should, you arched your neck, gave a small prance and left us.
I am so grateful for all the thrills you and your team gave us..may your babies all be stunning. I love you Zenyatta

HI Zenyatta!
My name is Arya and I’m 11 years old. I love Zenyatta,
First I want to say I am a BIG fan, your website is my safari homepage, you are my computers background, and I have seen almost every race. I am so sad you lost, but still you did your best!
It doesn’t mater if you lost, you are still a beautiful, famous, and strong horse! Good job on the race and I get to see you in Los Angeles when I go on Thanksgiving!
Love,
Your Biggest Fan (ARYA LALL CA)
Kyle
It was so sad to see Zenyatta just barely lose to Blame this weekend. Too bad she didn’t get off to as good of a start in the race as possible, yet it was still so impressive to see the lengths she made up on the homestretch! The press all says she will now be retired. Perhaps that is the best for her, but I think it would be truly great to bring her back another year and see what she could accomplish. Obviously, she performed well on dirt when running against horses more accustomed to that surface, as well as against the boys! Being as some criticized her for running almost exclusively on synthetics and against other females, another race season that raced her with other boys would give the possibility to show how great she truly is!

Good going …
