To all my dear, loving fans,
I want to THANK all of you for your support, encouragement and love.
I gave it a good GO in the Breeders’ Cup Classic…and tried my best! I’m home now at my Hollywood Park Barn. The flight back to California was great. My friends, Mario, Frank and Harmonious, traveled on the plane with me. It was a smooth trip!
The last week has been exciting and thrilling! I had a great time in KY and everyone was so kind to me. I posed for hundreds and hundreds of photos yesterday alone with so many fabulous fans. They brought me Z cakes, apples, peppermints, and carrots. They hugged me, kissed me, and made me feel so special. I am one lucky mare.
Then when I got back to the barn there was a great WELCOME HOME ZENYATTA sign hanging at the barn. People signed it with such sweet messages for me! Everyone makes me feel so special.
Today, I’ll walk and relax a bit and, of course, GRAZE! LUCKY ME!
Hugs to all…and again…THANKS TO ALL OF YOU for being so loving and supportive of me and all of TEAM ZENYATTA.
With great appreciation…
Love,
Z

Welcome home Zennie! I think last Saturday, a lot of people realized how truly great horse you are. Thank you so much for the fun and thrilling ride in the last 3 years. I love you Queen Z and I am your fan forever.
Lynn Blackbourn
Ms.Z, You have been a gift to all of us that have enjoyed your greatness. My family has seen all of your races this past year and have held each other as we jumped up and down cheering for you in my livingroom. You have made us forget about the economy, wars and politics. I don’t know of any breathing thing that has done that as well as you. You don’t just need to be horse of the year, but need a Nobel Prize. I know that Jerry and Ann get all of the joy of owning you,but we have just had you to enjoy.
Dance away girl, you have earned it.
Mary P
You are a true champion. You beat the boys true to your style and you will always be a winner. The sport needs you and your team. You all have spread excitement and love….God Bless y’all.

Dear Zenyatta,(might have to have your trainer translate for you :D),
Thank you for being your wonderful, personality full, brilliant horsey self! Your heart and try knows no equal. You have brought such joy and beauty to so many of us humans. I know you have the physical attributes to be great, probably an incredible heart score (have you been ultrasounded?),strong bone and tendons and great lung capacity coupled with exceptional conformation, but that one thing that cannot be measured in man nor horse is that which lies between your ears, your mind. You have courage. Congratulations on your accomplishments, we love you and look forward to your foals. Your jockey, Mike , is a great man who loves you very much too. Give him a nuzzle on his cheek and let him know he is “perfect” for you.
your fan,
Joylen

Dear Z,
I am so glad that you and everyone else got home safely. It was so exciting to see you run and be part of the day. It was one of the best days of my life! We were sitting next to two of your California fans who took the train east just to see you run. We all love you and can’t wait for news of how you will be spending your days! You are an amazing girl!
Judy

Nancy Forsyth
There is no horse like you. Thank you for adding excitement to my life and bringing our sport to so many fans in a good light.
You are the Champ!

Z Girl, you are the best – class and style all the way. Even a loss for you is thrilling, but in my mind it was a win. No other horse could’ve covered the territory you did and roll past all the boys but one to be a fraction away from the wire. You are in a word – incredible. You have certainly earned every accolade and testamonial your legion fans bestow. You and Mike are quite a team – a matched set like no other. Thanks for all the fun, excitement, and joy you have brought to all of us. May you have a wonderful retirement – I’m sure you will still have lots of fans visiting you and looking for more photos to cherish and document the legend that is you, the people’s horse.
Love you, Zenny!
Vanessa Rose
Zenyatta,
You are a classy lady, a true champion, and a heroine for us to look up to. I hope you enjoy retirement.
Thanks to the people who surround you and take such good care of you.(The horse always comes first).
Kim Stoecklein
Who knew you could be loved so much by so many? And who would have ever thought that so many would send emails to a horse? :) You have brought happiness and hope to everyone. You and your wonderful dancing, prancing personality will be missed at the races. Enjoy your retirement and live a long and healthy life.
Robyn Mullhausen
My 1st email to a horse! Zenyatta, you are one gorgeous and sweet mare.I can’t stay off of Facebook saying good things about you, Mike Smith and John Sherriffs. Your whole team has done a great job showing you off to be the fantastic girl you are. You are as lucky to have them as they are to be able to be in your presence. You definately deserve a book, a movie, and many magazine articles.Thank you Moss family and all of “Crew Zen” for sharing you with the world. Horse of The Year isn’t a good enough title for you…maybe Horse of The Century. Hugs for your neck and kisses for your soft nose.Love,Robyn ps I am downloading “Zenyatta” by Lisa G.Fly. Great song. How many other horses can say they have a song written for them?
Bridget
You did a great job Saturday, Z. No one else has done what you did, so you’re #1 in my book. I wish I could meet you some day and pet you, that would be great! I love your dance, thanks so much for that! Love you!
Bridget
Did Zenyatta’s parents win many races?
Selene McCarthy
my dear Z,
you are the bomb, my baby! The alpha and omega and everything in between. You have given my heart wings over and over, and I am so grateful. I dream of one day seeing you in person and feeling your regal energy!
You have nothing to feel bad about..your reputation will endure as one of the classiest fastest mares in the racing world. You have only one equal, and that , in my opinion is Ruffian. You do not know her, but you know her spirit when you run. Enjoy the rest of your life as a mother. You had the best jockey and friend on your back. Mike loves you dearly. It makes me cry to think about the two of you. all the best to you and your family, and thank you for all the inspiration!

We should hold a celebration. What you have done in your life time is truly remarkable and needs to be celebrated. We will never see another horse do what you did and with such style for generation to come. We all thank you and hope you keep us posted on what you are doing.
Lynell Abbott
Dear Z,
We here in Virginia are glad you made it back home safe and sound. All the best to you and yours.
Elizabeth M.Sprinkle
Truly an inspiration. We love you so much and are so proud. You brought an excitement back to racing I havnt seen in a while. Even non-horsey people know your name!
Robyn Mullhausen
To Mike Smith and John Sherriffs…hold your heads high. You’ve done an excellent job with Zenyatta. If you get down listening to any of the racing or sports people, go on Facebook and see how much your fans love you both and Zenyatta. She is America’s Horse of The Century. Maybe I shouldn’t say this, but I hope you don’t race her again…you all have nothing to prove. Keep her safe. The best horse in that race yesterday was not the one in the record books as first place. Although, I would like to see her race just Blame so she could blow his ears off like she almost did even after fighting her way through 10 other horses and with mud on her beautiful face…she was clearly the fastest horse on that track.
Lori Stein
Hi big Z,
I am so so proud of you. I never thought I could love and admire you any more than I already did when you went into the gate in the Clasic, but I do. You ran your tremendous heart out. You are so awesome and I am in awe of you now and forever. Please tell Mike he did a great job riding you just like he always has. He is the best! He brought you home safely to us 17 times and we all love him for that amongst all the other special things he does on and off the track. Please tell Mario, Carmen, John, Dottie, Ann, Jerry, Mike and everyone else there THANK YOU for everything. You all have made more people happy than I can express.
When you go on to your happy horse life frolicking in the fields of Kentucky and loving your babies you will never be far from my heart. I hope someday I can come and meet you. Knowing you, your babies will be Champions just like you.
Thank you for everything big Z. We all love you!!! Godspeed!!!
P.S. Tell your Mom and Dad you want one last farewell party at Hollywood Park so all your fans across the country can see you again before you go off to the bluegrass.
Love,
Lori from Florida

Zenyatta, you have touched my heart in ways I didn’t think was possible. You made me feel alive for the first time in a long time watching your monsterous stride take it home. The finish line just caught you a little to soon. Everyone knows who the better horse is, it was obvious you were covering more ground than Blame could hold. Girl you made me proud, and I’m just glad I got to be her to witness your greatness. I still cry watching that race, and if they take your well deserved title from you, I know the racing industry is going down the tubes. Even the best fall down sometimes, but you didn’t fall, you won in my eyes. Your in my heart forever and always.
Kathleen Marsh
Thank you Zenyatta. You are the most wonderful and beautiful horse ever. You are and will remain the Queen of My Heart. And thanks to ALL your team (or should I say ‘court’)–they have been beyond fabulous!
Namcy
You are still and always will be the Queen. Thank you, Mike Smith, John Sheriffs, the Mosses and all your people for making racing so wonderful and life so much fun!
