To all my dear, loving fans,
I want to THANK all of you for your support, encouragement and love.
I gave it a good GO in the Breeders’ Cup Classic…and tried my best! I’m home now at my Hollywood Park Barn. The flight back to California was great. My friends, Mario, Frank and Harmonious, traveled on the plane with me. It was a smooth trip!
The last week has been exciting and thrilling! I had a great time in KY and everyone was so kind to me. I posed for hundreds and hundreds of photos yesterday alone with so many fabulous fans. They brought me Z cakes, apples, peppermints, and carrots. They hugged me, kissed me, and made me feel so special. I am one lucky mare.
Then when I got back to the barn there was a great WELCOME HOME ZENYATTA sign hanging at the barn. People signed it with such sweet messages for me! Everyone makes me feel so special.
Today, I’ll walk and relax a bit and, of course, GRAZE! LUCKY ME!
Hugs to all…and again…THANKS TO ALL OF YOU for being so loving and supportive of me and all of TEAM ZENYATTA.
With great appreciation…
Love,
Z

Thank you for your heart and spirit. You are truly a blessing for us all. Thanks also to your team. You showed that you had what it takes. We will love you always.

You dear, sweet, courageous horse. I cried at the finish line (your BC loss) until I realized you WON anyway. With your heart, your courage, and your personality, you could not, and will not lose, anywhere, anytime.

Z,
I came to KY to watch your final race. You put on such a performance and I will remember that for the rest of my life. Please let Mike know that we love him too. We all know that if you had had one more step, the race would have been yours.
If you don’t win Horse of the Year then I will say that Thoroughbred Racing has lost its way. You brought back the excitement that had alluded the sport for so long. I’m voting to make you Time Magazine’s ‘Man of the Year’!
Most importantly you are safe and sound. You are a superstar and we hope to see you again and again off the race track.
Perhaps your new role as ambassador for thoroughbred horse racing will convince people to increase the racing age to 3 years old. The statistics suggest that the injuries would drop by 30% or more!
Infinite thanks to Jerry and Ann Moss, John Sherriffs and crew for their wonderful Zen approach to racing!!! I too tell my problems to my horse.
Big Z – You are my role model! Hail to the Queen!

You are Majestic and much beloved. God Bless you and thanks for all the smiles and hope you give to others. I am so proud of you and need to make it to the track to see you run sometime. Cheers!

Dear Ms. Zenyatta;
we are so glad you got back safe and sound to your California home. You have so many fans who love you so much. You ran such a gallant and courageous race on Saturday; I wish I was in California so I could feed you a carrot or two. I think you are going to have a nice rest and then your parents will decide what they think is best for you. We all love you

Dear Zenyatta: I am glad you are home safe & that all your family will be with you in coming days. Now Goldikova has told Freddy Head that she is fine & would like to race some more. If you are well & sound, maybe you’ll tell John Shirreffs that you can do it too. You & Goldie are two great ladies! xoxo Lynne

Welcome back home, Zenyatta and the Team! No racehorse I’ve seen has affected me as much as you, Zenny, and I’m so grateful for the wonderful memories of getting to see you race at Hollywood this year. I have never seen a more courageous and powerful stretch run than yours in the Breeder’s Cup 2010, and I will always think you were the best by far. Love and carrots and hugs!

I cried, I just wanted you to win and put a smile on my face for doing just that. I sit here crying reading your diary and you still brought a smile. You and Mike are great! I will never forget you and I hope they make a movie about you the greatest mare to race.

You had it made! The jockey “held” you in the gate just 2 seconds too long. You are a winner anyway. I will name my next dog after you. My last dog (a beautiful red Doberman) was named “Ruffian.” I loved her, too.
