To all my dear, loving fans,
I want to THANK all of you for your support, encouragement and love.
I gave it a good GO in the Breeders’ Cup Classic…and tried my best! I’m home now at my Hollywood Park Barn. The flight back to California was great. My friends, Mario, Frank and Harmonious, traveled on the plane with me. It was a smooth trip!
The last week has been exciting and thrilling! I had a great time in KY and everyone was so kind to me. I posed for hundreds and hundreds of photos yesterday alone with so many fabulous fans. They brought me Z cakes, apples, peppermints, and carrots. They hugged me, kissed me, and made me feel so special. I am one lucky mare.
Then when I got back to the barn there was a great WELCOME HOME ZENYATTA sign hanging at the barn. People signed it with such sweet messages for me! Everyone makes me feel so special.
Today, I’ll walk and relax a bit and, of course, GRAZE! LUCKY ME!
Hugs to all…and again…THANKS TO ALL OF YOU for being so loving and supportive of me and all of TEAM ZENYATTA.
With great appreciation…
Love,
Z

I am a big sports fan of football and hockey for many years. I would have been happy if my team never won another superbowl or Stanley cup to see Zenyatta win that race. Anyway, she is my favorite athlete of all time.

My husband and I flew out from Texas just to see YOU. I am one of those fans that a TV sports analyst described as “not knowing a furlong from a footlong” He said you should be horse of the year for that one reason alone….could not agree with him more. You have energized a dying sport all by yourself!!!! Years from now they will still be writing about you and that other horse will be a footnote in your incredible story.I was there on Sunday with all of your other adoring fans. Your race was thrilling and you will always be my Queen Z. I really can’t explain why we all adore you, but we do. Please keep us posted on everything you do. I will ALWAYS be a BIG fan and will be hurt if I cannot follow you even in retirement. Please pictures, updates, PLEASE….we love you always. Thanks to your wonderful groom, exercise rider and Mr. and Mrs. Moss for being so gracious to all of us on Sunday. Mrs. Moss signed my husband’s cap…Life Life the Zenyatta Way, Love A and Z. We will treasure that and you forever.

Zenyatta, you are my SUNSHINE! I have followed you all along and you have brought such joy with your talent and your beauty and your intellect. My heart was broken, for you, after the race. Believe me, I know I was not the only one devastated. Everyone wanted you to win. All the newspaper articles that have come out since Saturday make it pretty clear,YOU ARE THE ONE! There is a campaign going on by all your fans to make their feelings known to all the voters for the Horse of The Year Award that YOU ARE THE HORSE OF THE YEAR. I even sent an e mail to your friend, Terrell Owens, asking for him so join us in this endeavor. I went to the Kentucky Derby last year to honor and see the statue of Barbaro. I am not a betting fan I am a horse fan. I wish he was here so you could date him. (*_*)He was a fine horse and you would have loved him. I had planned to see you in the Breeders Cup when I thought it was in California but could not swing it when I realized it was at Churchill Downs. I live in the State of Washington and it was not a possible trip at this time. You have captured my heart and that is where you will remain FOREVER. I will keep track of you and your retirement, I’m retired also. ZENYATTA, YOU ARE~~~SIMPLY THE BEST!! XOXOXOXOXOX

My family loves horses and everyone rides, but me…I have severe allergies that keep me from it. I don’t follow horse racing, but last week you were everywhere in the news so I started to follow you. You took my heart!! Then it was SO thrilling to watch you perform Saturday in the Classic; you were AMAZING! All the best to you!

Loving the sport, I always felt cheated that I was too young to appreciate Secretariat in ’72-73. I was jealous of those who lived thru that era. It seemed my horse racing “fanhood” was full of near misses and tragedies, fragile horses who were here & then quickly off to “the shed”. And then along came big, strong Zenyatta! Even tho I’m an “eastcoaster” I began following Z after her 4th race, when few knew her. That made her extra special to me! I shared my love for Z with my 9 yr old daughter, who also became quite “attached”. With each race the excitement & love built. Already at the end of ’09 I felt as if Z WAS my Secretariat. 2010 was a bonus! I doubt any other horse will ever come along to make me feel quite the same….yup, she’s a “once in a lifetime” and I’m so happy for all that she gave me…..all the thrills and the tears (of joy & love). Someday I will take a trip to KY and finally get to meet Z in person! I can’t wait to whisper my love and gratitude to her! Thank you to all of her connections for giving her to us and keeping her safe.

Dear Zenyatta, we are glad you had a safe trip back home. Your race yesterday was the thrill of a lifetime to watch! You are quite a girl and we are SO going to miss you racing. You’ve brought such excitement back into the sport. Even folks who don’t normally watch racing, watched YOU yesterday! I love watching you prance and dance your way along — awesome girl! Please don’t disappear from the public view. You have many, many fans who care about and love you! Much happiness, Zenyatta. Thank you for giving us some very special times! All is can say in closing is ‘WOW’!

Zenyatta….I still believe you are not done racing! Look at the tremendous and valiant run you gave at the BC 2010! What horse can do that?…..just you Queen Z! No horse can match you. In every way you are superior…and you inspire those around you to feel the magic of love, delight, and hope! You are the Queen, the Empress…our Zenyatta…our Big Z. We love you and want you to stay in the limelight if that is at all possible. If that is what will make you happy…then that is what will make us happy too. Hugs and kisses and carrots and apples and peppermints to you Queen Z!!!
