Good Morning, Everyone!
I truly love to stand in my paddock and GREET all of my Lane’s End Pals as they are busy driving around the farm and working. I must say that is one of the greatest parts of where TASTY and I have our paddock…we are right in the middle of everything. It is absolutely fabulous!
Chris Balmes asked yesterday in the Diary Responses if TASTY and I will continue to be together once we have our foals. The answer is YES. The normal plan is to keep ‘foaling mares’ who are due at the same time together. Once their babies are born…they are able stay together as their foals are approximately the same age. Obviously, MOTHER NATURE plays a part in all of this…but that is the plan at this time.
My FARM FAMILY is so forward thinking. I believe this is one of the reasons they wanted TASTY and I together from the beginning. Not only do WE get along fabulously and our personalities blend together extremely well…but our paths in life are very similar. We are both ‘maiden’ or first time mares having our first foals. We were bred and conceived on exactly the same day…which I personally think is TOO CUTE. Thus, our babies are due at exactly the same time. All of this establishes a wonderful pattern which should allow US to remain friends for quite some time. LUCKY US!
On another note, when I wrote the entry for yesterday’s Diary, I did not know about the passing of INDIAN CHARLIE. ALL BLESSINGS to him! What a wonderful racehorse and stallion! HE will be deeply missed.
I imagine all of this is truly a reminder that LIFE is so very precious. It is important to treasure and appreciate each moment as it is happening…and the FRIENDS you are sharing these special times with each day!
To ALL OF YOU, who are so special and have shared so much with ME each day….here’s wishing YOU a peaceful and wonderful weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Kari – THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE LINK TO 2005 GOLD CUP – Lava Man’s run was sensational. What a great guy. I love him too. Gave m goosebumps to watch it again….
and Z – your ornament came yesterday in the box signed by YOUR JOHN!!!! It is on my tree and I have it front and center. I like the idea of a couple of your fans saying they are going to keep it out year round…. good idea.
All have a fun and safe weekend. It’s cold in Carlsbad, Ca ! At least for California. You and Tasty stay snug with your babies to be.

Thought you would know AP Indy ‘s history and followed
Him while on the track. Not sure what AP stands for.
Definately must get to LE to see him next year.
Hopefully he will live into his 30’s as he has been so well
Cared for. Learning about him actually through Bernardini,
Wish I would have followed him during his career. I love
The way he hold his neck so very low when he is digging
In for the wind.

@Max
Great link on Frankel; looks like he was doing
A dressage half-pass.

Hi Zenyatta! You look fab as always. I suppose this question has been asked and answered a hundred times, but I missed it a hundred times too. Who was Tasty bred to. Who is her baby’s daddy? I hope you don’t mind answering this question AGAIN!
Thanks

EVERYONE: there is a wonderful article on Rapid Redux by Stephanie Diaz. Just go to google news and type in his name (sorry but I don’t knbow how to do links). The owner and trainer said they know they won’t get HOTY but they are really hoping for the Vox Populi Award. If you haven’t voted yet for anyone, think about voting for him. He deserves some recognition and this is what all his connections are hoping for. Something tells me Zenny would approve.
Paula Higgins
One more thing, PLEASE go to Facebook if you are a member and go to Rapid Rdeux’s page and “like.” They are trying to get 2,000 hits. He hs so much heart. Lets give his connections a boost.

Whoops, meant to type Rapid Redux’s page.

Zenny, Christmas Thoughts For Next Christmas Year…..
As I reflect upon this Christmas season missing you and thinking of you so far away …. I wish, with your next nose nuzzle hugs with your Ann, I wish that you’d whisper ever so gently in her ear, this thought for next Christmas year: The Zenyatta Store could use some more Christmas cheer…with CHRISTMAS CARDS featuring you dear….the numerous charities dear to your heart need some of that Christmas cheer for sure next year! The cards could feature you dear in your burrry snowy pose or snowy whiskers on your nose….but the Santa surprise yet unknown, the foal with a feature all it’s own! A mixed box with greetings from the heart, with you and baby not far apart, is one I’d like to own….oh! to have one of my own next Christmas year!
Karen Gogue
Drat! That last line should have read – oh! to have Christmas cheer with one of my own next Christmas year! Mmmm, er, how’s the spelling on that? Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas!!

Thank goodness for this site.. My DVR went down and I lost all the wonderful things I had saved about you Zen. Your races and dancing and you reactions to people around and interviews and 60 minutes…I am pretty sad!! Love all your good news..

I know how you feel…earlier this year I lost all I had on my computer too when it went down, NO BACKUP! I learned my lesson. I am so sorry this happened… Is there no way the Cable company could help you with this? I hope they can.

Hi Zenny,
Love to read your posts. So happy you and Tasty can share this special time of your lives together. You look fabulous. Take care and thanks for sharing your wonderful views on life with us. My kitty Sam and I are so blessed and happy this Christmas. We wish the same for you and your “family”. God bless.

Zenyatta: Isn’t this a wonderful way to honor his Pop, Indan Charlie? His little boy won @ Hollywood Park. Congratulations to all. It was a wonderful race ( even on replay)!…http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/race/USA/HOL/2011/12/17/9/cashcall-futurity

Karen, if only. They helped me lose everything due to lack of knowledge and the ability to communicate with each other. I now have an EHD but too late!

@Sign. I knew that you would like Frankel’s dance steps. With horses like Northern Dancer, Nijinsky and Nureyvev in his extended family, Frankel must naturally have the genes for those moves. He might relate well to the Queen herself who really knows how to dance. I thought that the comments about Sir Henry Cecil giving Frankel the time to develop were also reminiscent of Zenyatta and her John.

Hi Zenny, So nice to hear about you and Tasty being where you can be in the middle of things and that you will have a continuing relationship.
@ Karen Gogue, Love your prose in your Thoughts for next year! Great idea. I’m looking forward to pictures of Big and Little Z !!!
LOL, Arlene

I see your so happy, there at lanes end, with that beautiful padlock, you lucky horses, and as far as that other, I hope the Mass, senetors, do what they say, and help the cause, I would never never eat horse meat, and i would try and help save the Mustangs, no slautering, thats so cruel, Love you Zen, keep, healthy, tell Tasty same thing..

@Barbara Wood (Texas)- Thanks for the link to the video of 200 horses saved from drowning — brought me to the edge of tears, how scared they must have been, after 18 died.

Here is that lovely article on Rapid Redux; Mr Wells is a very nice man; RR is just not stakes or a higher money allowance horse, but he has given so many people a lot of fun. Hope they retire him now. He would be great in a second career.

@Max
You do find some of the best links; maybe Frankel with be Zenny’s link to the great Galileo in the breeding shed. He should be breeding by 2013 ?????
****************************************
I also like Cape Blanco, though. He is very tenacious and determined, but both are turf horses ????? Is sure wish Galileo or Sea the Stars would come for a season in the US. I bet their book would be overflowing.
