Good Morning, Everyone!

I truly love to stand in my paddock and GREET all of my Lane’s End Pals as they are busy driving around the farm and working. I must say that is one of the greatest parts of where TASTY and I have our paddock…we are right in the middle of everything. It is absolutely fabulous!

Chris Balmes asked yesterday in the Diary Responses if TASTY and I will continue to be together once we have our foals. The answer is YES. The normal plan is to keep ‘foaling mares’ who are due at the same time together. Once their babies are born…they are able stay together as their foals are approximately the same age. Obviously, MOTHER NATURE plays a part in all of this…but that is the plan at this time.

My FARM FAMILY is so forward thinking. I believe this is one of the reasons they wanted TASTY and I together from the beginning. Not only do WE get along fabulously and our personalities blend together extremely well…but our paths in life are very similar. We are both ‘maiden’ or first time mares having our first foals. We were bred and conceived on exactly the same day…which I personally think is TOO CUTE. Thus, our babies are due at exactly the same time. All of this establishes a wonderful pattern which should allow US to remain friends for quite some time. LUCKY US!

On another note, when I wrote the entry for yesterday’s Diary, I did not know about the passing of INDIAN CHARLIE. ALL BLESSINGS to him! What a wonderful racehorse and stallion! HE will be deeply missed.

I imagine all of this is truly a reminder that LIFE is so very precious. It is important to treasure and appreciate each moment as it is happening…and the FRIENDS you are sharing these special times with each day!

    Thank you Kari and Judy/JAG for your links. I am very glad that Zenny and Tasty will remain together if mother nature cooperates. Good to see Scott Brown on board with the anti-horse slaughter bill.

    @Shannon from Cool: better get out an eraser and scritch out that foaling date for Zenny. See, here’s how it is – JAG has harped so much on having that foal born on March 9 (John Henry’s birthday) that I think even Zenny is afraid to do otherwise! I’ve thrown in the towel on a St. Paddy’s Day baby. Sigh. Maybe Tasty can fill in.

    Everytime I see a picture of you—I wish I was there hugging you!! Keep watching and greeting all those on the farm. I love people watching myself. I am glad you, Tasty and your foals can be together.

    Maiden mares not usually foal early. Her due date is
    March 10 plus or minus 10 days. St Patty’s day is definately
    A possibility, and maybe a wish for a date with
    Galileo.

    Thanks for the update Queen Z. It’s wonderful to know that you and Tasty get along really well. It’s so sweet! I hope the weather is good so both of you can go outside and have fun. I love you and of course say Hi to Tasty for me.

    Lane’s End has a new Youtube Channel with some really nice videos of their Stallions…A.P.Indy, Rock Hard Ten, The “Mighty” Curlin, Mine Shaft, Lemon Drop Kid, Discreetly Mine,Candy Ride, English Channel,Pleasantly Perfect, Quality Road, After Market & Courageous Cat….I watched them all waiting for Hubby to get off work- LOL!     To all—Soon Post #400 will be here! Hasn’t time flown? Keep in mind though that we did jump directly from #100 on March 5 to #201 on March 10, when Z learned of her (first) “in foal” status—she added a PS to that post: “P.S. – This is post #201 to commemorate the second chapter of my life!” Too cute!

Unfortunately, the article didn’t even mention the level of dangerous chemicals in North American horses, which by itself should be enough to keep anyone from wanting to eat horsemeat, let alone the cruel methods of transport and slaughter.

    Now that the season
    From fall to winter is changing,
    We know
    Dear Sandy
    In Ohio
    Has more than one reason
    To celebrate:
    First, her birthday comes, I believe,
    This week,
    Then soon it will be
    December the twenty-fifth,
    For that a gift
    Already she did receive—
    It’s an ornament of Z

    This Christmas Eve
