Good Morning, Everyone!
I truly love to stand in my paddock and GREET all of my Lane’s End Pals as they are busy driving around the farm and working. I must say that is one of the greatest parts of where TASTY and I have our paddock…we are right in the middle of everything. It is absolutely fabulous!
Chris Balmes asked yesterday in the Diary Responses if TASTY and I will continue to be together once we have our foals. The answer is YES. The normal plan is to keep ‘foaling mares’ who are due at the same time together. Once their babies are born…they are able stay together as their foals are approximately the same age. Obviously, MOTHER NATURE plays a part in all of this…but that is the plan at this time.
My FARM FAMILY is so forward thinking. I believe this is one of the reasons they wanted TASTY and I together from the beginning. Not only do WE get along fabulously and our personalities blend together extremely well…but our paths in life are very similar. We are both ‘maiden’ or first time mares having our first foals. We were bred and conceived on exactly the same day…which I personally think is TOO CUTE. Thus, our babies are due at exactly the same time. All of this establishes a wonderful pattern which should allow US to remain friends for quite some time. LUCKY US!
On another note, when I wrote the entry for yesterday’s Diary, I did not know about the passing of INDIAN CHARLIE. ALL BLESSINGS to him! What a wonderful racehorse and stallion! HE will be deeply missed.
I imagine all of this is truly a reminder that LIFE is so very precious. It is important to treasure and appreciate each moment as it is happening…and the FRIENDS you are sharing these special times with each day!
To ALL OF YOU, who are so special and have shared so much with ME each day….here’s wishing YOU a peaceful and wonderful weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

GF we had fun!! Of course we always say hello to Zenny’s JOHN! And Dottie! :-) It wasn’t that cold, in fact I got too warm later in the day.
Joining Delia and I were Terri and her friend Kelly. We also saw Robyn and her beau, and Jeff M!
I had my picture taken with Ramon AND a picture with Julien :-P When you put your arm around each other waist, and their waist is SMALLER than yours… eeekkk! LOL

@ZENYATTA AUSTEN SOCIETY: viewing alert! In preparation for the second season of the award-winning “Downton Abbey” in January, PBS will be showing the first season in its entirety on Sunday nights, beginning tonight. Please check your local PBS station for air time. It is not Jane Austen, but this delicious Edwardian drama has a wonderfully compelling storyline, and fascinating, finely-drawn characters, which will soon have you hooked! In the L.A. area, channel 50, 8:00-11:00 P.M.

@Sign. Zenyatta was nothing short of totally amazing in that 2010 race. I will never forget the thrill of seeing her run on that day. She was so spectacular that you just forgot about every other horse in the race including the winner. All eyes were on her, and they still are. Even in her retirement, Zenyatta is reaching new standards.
As to Frankel, Cecil is now saying that he thinks that Frankel can go more than a mile. He certainly has that distance in his pedigree. According to Cecil, it will be up to Frankel to decide if and when he is ready. Time will tell.

Lovely photo of our beautiful Z!
@Cynthia H./Santa Anita Girl, Looking forward to the return of Downton Abbey, especially the new episodes to be aired Jan. 8th on PBS. Very foggy here–a good time to watch the repeat of Andrea Bocelli’s New York concert.
Sue Fredrick - Wisconsin
Oh I just read some of the postings HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABIGAIL AND MANY, MANY MORE. Hope you had a great birthday in New York!
@KARI BUSSELL I just love Lava Man too, TVG had a special on him, he was quite the popular blue collar horse and what heart he had.

It was beautiful. Enjoy!

Thanks for the updates on Eblouissante. Her facebook posted it later. I have followed her for several months now.She is absolutely beautiful to look at…good size like her mother and Z, and Bernardini’s black shiney coat. Perhaps, a hint of of Z’s anticipated baby. Her practice time was a little better today.

@Sue Fredrick, So you want a mud wrestling match. I have the perfect spot, but I will have to ask the farmer if he will remove his pigs for a while. ha ha

Are any of Zenny’s fans from New Mexico? There is a little two-year-old blind filly there who may be going to slaughter unless she is adopted or saved. You can see her on Deputy Broad’s FB page. Just this year I was helping a 7 year old blind stallion, FREEDOM, who was adopted temporarily by a military family who took him in and got him healthy again (he had been starved for many years), sent him to school to learn commands, broke him, gelded him, loved him. He was just adopted by a rehab facility in CA where he is a very successful therapy horse. This little girl can do the same thing if she can be rescued…when patients see the courage and heart and positive attitude of FREEDOM, they make breakthroughs. She can help patients as well! And, just maybe, a vet can help her see again. New Mexico friends–can you please help! Please go to Deputy Broad’s FB page for more details! Thank you!

Zenny you are so cute. I’m so glad to know that you and Tasty will stay together with your Foals. That is exciting because you both will have so much in common on a daily basis and you are such good friends. We here are so busy getting ready for Christmas with our large Family. We all gather at our home on Christmas Eve every year. It is fun but there is always alot of preperation for the event. I wish you a great Christmas full of Joy and happiness and hopefully some favorite goodies for you. A blessed Christmas to you you and Tasty. Love you much Zenyatta the Royal Queen.

Dearest Z–we are waiting to see what tomorrow brings you. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us.
@Barbara Grimaldi–will hope help comes for the little blind one. Praying.

Catching up on the posts. @Sue Fredrick-I think I put the jinx on the Packers by predicting that the team would go undefeated. @signofthetimes-Thank you. I am very impressed with the horsey knowledge that you display in your posts. Rosemary McCauley deserves much respect as do you and Diana S. If I should choose to abdicate, the future is in safe hands. Zenyatta bobbleheads were given out at Hollywood Park one time when she was still competing, but not on a day she was running. i am looking at mine as I write this. I believe that Oaklawn Park also gave away bobbleheads when Zenyatta ran in the big race there. You have indicated that you are a cowboy redneck but you have not specified which state you are in. We need to properly categorize you. @Kari Bussell-Your wish is my command. @Barbra Wood-Go Lady Bears! @Rosemary McCauley, Diana S and Denise in AZ, charter members of the Arizona/New Mexico chapter-You might be a redneck if you have to honk the horn to get the chickens our of the driveway when you come home. @Sue Fredrick and Sally B, charter members of the Wisconsin chapter, presidency to be determined-You might be a redneck if you have more tattoos than teeth. @Judy Berube, president of New England chapter-You might be a redneck if your watchband is wider than any book you’ve ever read. @Marshall, [president of North Carolina chapter-You might be a redneck if the family business needs a lookout. @Susan in TN and Kari Bussell-You might be a redneck if you have more belt buckles than pants. You might b e a redneck if, when you kissed your groom at your wedding, your John Deere hat flew off. You might be a redneck if showering in your family is a fad. You might be a redneck if you consider fine dining to be at the Waffle Hose.
Terry Crow
@Debbie G, president of Kentucky chapter-You might be a redneck if you believe that deodorant is a waste of money because you live alone.
Rosemary McCauley - Southern California
@Terry Crow – please, please no talk of abdication. You are very much wanted here. Plus, related to redneck joke about driving up a driveway and honking the chickens out of the way: You might be a redneck of you pull up the drive and are afraid to get out of the car because the Rhode Island Red rooster is VERY MEAN!
