Good Morning, Everyone!
I truly love to stand in my paddock and GREET all of my Lane’s End Pals as they are busy driving around the farm and working. I must say that is one of the greatest parts of where TASTY and I have our paddock…we are right in the middle of everything. It is absolutely fabulous!
Chris Balmes asked yesterday in the Diary Responses if TASTY and I will continue to be together once we have our foals. The answer is YES. The normal plan is to keep ‘foaling mares’ who are due at the same time together. Once their babies are born…they are able stay together as their foals are approximately the same age. Obviously, MOTHER NATURE plays a part in all of this…but that is the plan at this time.
My FARM FAMILY is so forward thinking. I believe this is one of the reasons they wanted TASTY and I together from the beginning. Not only do WE get along fabulously and our personalities blend together extremely well…but our paths in life are very similar. We are both ‘maiden’ or first time mares having our first foals. We were bred and conceived on exactly the same day…which I personally think is TOO CUTE. Thus, our babies are due at exactly the same time. All of this establishes a wonderful pattern which should allow US to remain friends for quite some time. LUCKY US!
On another note, when I wrote the entry for yesterday’s Diary, I did not know about the passing of INDIAN CHARLIE. ALL BLESSINGS to him! What a wonderful racehorse and stallion! HE will be deeply missed.
I imagine all of this is truly a reminder that LIFE is so very precious. It is important to treasure and appreciate each moment as it is happening…and the FRIENDS you are sharing these special times with each day!
To ALL OF YOU, who are so special and have shared so much with ME each day….here’s wishing YOU a peaceful and wonderful weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Good morning Z. Looks chilly in KY.
This weekend is the CashCall Futurity at Hollywood Park. End of season there.
Mike Smith will be riding Blingo.
Safe ride.
A win would mean only 22 to go to 5000.
Hooves crossed!

Zenyatta. This is a great photo. Your ears are the best. Enjoy your weekend. Regards to TT.

QUOTE:
“Without question, Zenyatta’s last-to-first win in the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Classic at Santa Anita was the most dramatic and breathtaking race I’ve ever called,” he said. “It had everything. She was undefeated and had never run against the boys, nor had she been a mile and a quarter. Her style suggested that she’d need racing luck to be able to weave through a lot of traffic with a 12-horse field and to be honest, she was so far back early, that I really didn’t think she could do it.”
“Her race that day was truly one for the ages and the fact that she did it on a picturesque day with a huge crowd and a worldwide television audience, it just can’t get any better than that.”
Sherrie L.
As you progress would you please show more pictures of you and Tasty. Both are doing great.!!!

What a loving post today Zenny and Dottie.
So happy that you and Tasty get to keep
hanging together for a long time. :) And I
am so very happy to be going up to my most
favorite race track Hollywood Park tomorrow,
Saturday. Yippee! Should get to see your kind and wonderful “Connections” as Barn 55
has two horses running. Godspeed to them both! Sending much love and continued blessings to them and all of you in the
Zenyatta Nation and beyond!
Peace,
Kathy from SoCal xoxo

I’m happy for you Z. I miss watching you race on my TV. But I’m glad you’re happy. I’m excited to see pictures of your baby. I’m sure he/she will be as stunning as you are (if that’s even possible) (:

Hi Zenyatta. You look absolutely beautiful. I love the way you stand so perfectly taking everything in with those wonderful kind eyes. I am so happy to hear that you and Tasty will remain together. As I stated yesterday, I cannot wait to see your beautiful babies playing and learning together. You will all be an awesome vision. May you and Tasty stay toasty, eat well for two and enjoy each other’s company. Love you, Angels.

I have my calendar marked – your due date is about March 28th. Can’t wait!!!

Funny how I was just thinking this morning that I wish my friends and I had timed our children to be born around the same time! It can be hard to get that “girl time” in when kids are all different ages, lol! Lucky you!
Chris Balmes
Oh how sweet of you to answer my questions……..that is the answer I was hoping for; not only for myself but for the “girls and their foals”. Thank you. Have a wonderful day everyone – and especially you Zenyatta and Tasty!

Zenyatta You are the SPECIAL one to all of us. I told some of my classes about Indian Charlie. They know how much I love Uncle Mo. I also showed one class Rapid Redux’s last race. What a horse! My children will know all about the horses in this time period. We have so many great ones. You Inspire Me Zenyatta and you always will. I love you. Hugs and Kisses, Shari

I love the way you “teach” us so many things about the horse world – those of us who are only spectators – but dream of being more!!! You and Tasty should foal right around my husband’s birthday – the 28th – hooves crossed that it happens. You and tasty are two beautiful Moms-to-be – and are so lucky to have the people caring for you that you do!!! Love you, Z!!

Dear Precious Z (and your Dottie Too!) … this post brought tears to my eyes. Everything about it, how you are in them middle of the action at the farm, all about you and Tasty, and the sweet tribute to Indian Charlie, thanks for starting my day off with a big open heart. love you all! and yes, I’ve been wondering about you and Tasty staying together, so thanks so much for clarifying that so beautifully!

Good morning baby girl. You look so beautiful in that silhouette type photo, your ears are perfect! Yeah it’s really sad to hear about Indian Charlie. I watched the Santa Anita Derby video where he won the race, wow you can see where Uncle Mo got his greatness. It’s so sad to hear about losing great horses, it does make one think about life in general. Well we’ve been getting much needed rain here in Decatur and hopefully have much more hay for all of our horses next year. You have an absolutely beautiful day baby girl and the best of weekends, and please be safe. Love you…

Hi Zen, It’s wonderful to hear about you and Tasty being such good friends and being so close. Also to hear that you should be foaling the same time and that your babies should be playing with each other. I do hope that video of these special moments will be shared with all of us who read your diary everyday and care so deeply for you.
Wishing you a great weekend – Lucky that you don’t have to go shopping at the malls.

Zenny I am so glad to be back posting and reading your latest news, I’ve missed 4 posts. The #395 picture of you from the side looking back with your baby bump reminds me so much of your mama I had to look twice! You look sensational with your furry big body I bet you are soft as silk. I send belated congrats to Michelle what a great accomplishment, and I also add my condolences on the loss of Strike The Gold and my new friend I just fed peppermints to this summer, Indian Charlie. What a handsome man he was, and he looked so good…..what a shock!
@RAPID REDUX congrats on your 20th win my man, I voted for you in the Vox Populi contest.
@GARY MOULTON Bronco/Saints in the Super Bowl????? Did you forget about the Packers?
@TERRY CROW I just read Sally B and I are representing Wisconsin Rednecks. WOW What an honor. I accept as long as I don’t have to come up with all these jokes….no one can top you and Diane S. As for who will be President we are going to mud wrestle for the title but we’ll have to wait till spring…..you know frozen tundra and all. Do we get badges or ribbons or nameplates or….ANYTHING?
@ERIN AND JOY I hope you can start to see the humour and not be offended by the redneck jokes, I’m a blond and we have put up with so much abuse for years, I finally learned to laugh at them.
Luv you Zen with kisses on your nose
Debbie
