Good Morning, All!
Thank you so much for all of the sweet responses yesterday in relation to my 2 pals…Michelle and Rapid Redux. Michelle called Dottie and commented how extremely touched she is by all of your kind wishes and thoughts. I know she wants to thank you as well…and is writing a POST for you.
As you can see, TASTY and I are doing fine. You can see her grazing in the back of this photo…and her ‘baby bump’. M. Kern and Marshall both asked about US yesterday. WE are doing great and both due in early March! As many of you may remember, both TASTY and I were bred on the exact same day last April. How exciting is this! WE have so much in common in so many ways. She is my very dear friend!
The Holiday rush is definitely upon US. There are some new photos of ME in the SHOP now…just going up today. (Blush, Blush) The ZENYATTASHOP elves are busy getting everything shipped out as soon as possible filling your orders. They want you to have your items in a timely fashion before the holiday.
Blessings to STRIKE THE GOLD! He is in all of our hearts and thoughts!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Love the early morning photo….you and Tasty are BFF….I have a friend I just signed BFF to an e-mail I sent her…it is such a blessing to have a BFF. Yes..I am still thinking about all Michelle has done…makes me feel like I might have made too many excuses for not doing some things in my life…she would be a good mentor that is for sure. I am 65 and I do have much admiration for Michelle. But Z…I can say I have been a great mom to my two sons…I will toot my own horn on that one…and I know you will be a loving mom…you are just so sweet and as we all know …”too cute”…Hope Michelle will be able to have a wonderful new career and help many people. Hugs to you Z….

@Michelle, our dear Zenny has created a very beautiful and devoted family through this diary. The picture of you riding her was special in many ways…both for you and us. Thank you for “thanking us”. High Hoof right back at you! Zenny, the photo of you and TT in the early morning is so peaceful. But, you have that effect on people…a calming almost spiritual effect. I’m glad to see you doing well.

Dear, Zenyatta. What a beautiful picture from Sarah today. I can just imagine standing there with a hand resting on your shoulder watching the sun come up and welcoming a new day. That would be a dream! Always thinking about you and Tasty and praying you remain happy and healthy always. I know your foals will just love playing together this spring. Love to you both! Sweet dreams. Hugs and kisses. XXXOOO
@Michelle – Thank you for your post. It was very kind of you. I wish I had gotten the opportunity to meet you when I visited Barn 55, maybe next time! Wishing you a beautiful holiday season!!
@RIP Indian Charlie – I was so sad to hear about the loss of this remarkable horse. I visited with him this summer and he was gorgeous and very kind. He came right over to the stall door and let me pet him. I asked the groom if I could give him a peppermint and he said I could, but that it was not his favorite thing. The groom walked away and came back with a big fat carrot. Carrot’s were Indian Charlie’s favorites. I stood there breaking it apart and feeding him, it was wonderful. No one else was at the barn and I was able to walk from stall to stall and spend time with each stallion. One of those amazing days in Kentucky I will always remember it and the dear Indian Charlie.

Thanks for the info on Indian Charile’s cancer (hemangiosarcoma)
could not find anything. Also common in dogs. I was scouring the internet trying to find this information.

Don’t think Zenny has any cancer in her pedigree, thank goodness.
It can be genetic.

My dog, Vizshla (2.5 years old), has cancer in his “family” and had a neck mass a couple of months ago, thank goodness; inflammation/drug reaction. He had a three year old family member pass from lymphoma.

@Dawn Conrad
So funny how horses have their favorite food. My TB, Jethro, hated peppermints. If you put one near him, he turned his head. He could even smell gatorade (summer electrolytes) in his water and he would not drink it. We had to get a whole new bucket, because the gatorade smell stayed in the plastic. TB can be very particular about things.

Tears today for our two lost champions and all other creatures in pain.
But as with life, it goes on and Z & Tasty are living testaments to this, as they are about to become links in the circle.
Have a great day everyone.

Just trying to picture what it will be like for you Z when you go into labor and deliver your precious baby. Will The Mosses and John and Dottie be there? How will you respond and care for he or she! It will be glorious to see you nurse, play and run with your little one soon.

@Pattie from South Carolina Re: Snowman.
It is a true story.
My daughter trained under Harry de Leyer.
He was great in jumpers-had a very unique riding style.
Most important was his love of horses & his ability to instill this to his students.
Laura is a trainer on Long Island.

Zenyatta, I’ve never written in your diary but your posts are an extraordinary treat for all that seek to keep in touch with you, whether as a knowledgeable enthusiast, the enamored fan, or newcomer. The dairy is truly a gift that jump-starts my day and always puts a smile (or a tear of joy) on my face!! The links, photos from your JOHN and your amazing fans, are fantastic. I met you and your JOHN at Oaklawn and again at Churchill… special moments forever etched into my heart. I was there when Mario brought you back to your stall at Churchill Sunday morning after you had visited your beloved fans. He said “She so tired, she need to rest now.” He was right, your beautiful face showed battle scars and you could barely keep your eyes open. Mario, your sweet protector forever!
While this awesome site has grown and expanded to cover a myriad of discussions where we can friend one another in our posts, it might be time for some of you to scrutinize and examine what the spirit of this site really is about. Please NO MORE INAPPROPRIATE REDNECK COMMENTS. Thanks.

@Michelle-Your post was obviously heartfelt. It shows a lot of class. @signofthetimes-Thank you. You psoted a bit about Man O’War that I did not properly address. In his time, horses routinely ran on drugs that would be prohibited today. The only requirement was that trainers not vary from the usual. If one of them did, it was necessary to notify the stewards so that the public would be protected. That is, in cases of either on or off the drugs or a different type of drug, that was OK as long as notification was given. @all-Strike the Gold has been a topic of conversation lately. IT has brought back memories in that one of my favorite all-time horses, Best Pal, was second in that 1991 Kentucky Derby that he won. Where does the time go? @Rosemary McCauley, Diana S and Denise in AZ, charter members of the Arizona/New Mexico chapter-You might be a redneck if you can’t go to church next year because your Sunday socks are being used as the truck;s gas cap. @Judy Berube, president of New England chapter-You might be a redneck if your kid takes a siphon hose to show and tell. @Sally B, charter member of Wisconsin chapter, soon to be joined by Sue Fredrick-You might be a redneck if you used up your vacation days to watch an Andy Griffith marathon. @Dennie G, president of Kentucky chapter-you might be a redneck if you get all of your holiday decorations from the cemetery. @Susan in TN and Kari Bussell-You might be a redneck if you’ve ever given your child a while bottle of Ex-Lax prior to taking him or her to see the fake Santa at the mall. You might be a redneck if you have hot flashes at cattle auctions. You might be a redneck if you tried to catch a rabbit with a carrot cake. Today’s joke-An inexperienced preacher was to hold a gravesite burial service ar a pauper’s cemetery for an indigent man with no family or friends. Not knowing where the cemetery was located, he made several wrong turns and got lost. When he eventually arrived an hour late, the hearse was nowhere in sight, the backhoe was next to an open hole, and the workers were sitting under a tree having lunch. The diligent young preacher went to the open hole and, feeling guilty because of his tardiness, presented an impassioned and lengthy service, sending the deceased to the great beyond in style. As he returned to his car, he heard one of the workers say to the other “I’ve been putting in septic tanks for twenty years and I have never seen anything like that.”
