Good Morning, All!
Thank you so much for all of the sweet responses yesterday in relation to my 2 pals…Michelle and Rapid Redux. Michelle called Dottie and commented how extremely touched she is by all of your kind wishes and thoughts. I know she wants to thank you as well…and is writing a POST for you.
As you can see, TASTY and I are doing fine. You can see her grazing in the back of this photo…and her ‘baby bump’. M. Kern and Marshall both asked about US yesterday. WE are doing great and both due in early March! As many of you may remember, both TASTY and I were bred on the exact same day last April. How exciting is this! WE have so much in common in so many ways. She is my very dear friend!
The Holiday rush is definitely upon US. There are some new photos of ME in the SHOP now…just going up today. (Blush, Blush) The ZENYATTASHOP elves are busy getting everything shipped out as soon as possible filling your orders. They want you to have your items in a timely fashion before the holiday.
Blessings to STRIKE THE GOLD! He is in all of our hearts and thoughts!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Dear Michelle,
Barn 55 truly struck gold when they found you—-or you found them. Your kindness and gracious, welcoming demeanor will be remembered as long as memories of a dream barn visit with Zenyatta remain. You are one of racing’s quiet people, whose influence cannot be over-stated. Blessings always.

From: Daily Racing Forum
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Indian Charlie, sire of four North American champions including Uncle Mo, died Thursday morning at age 16.
An In Excess horse who went from California Grade 1 winner to fashionable Kentucky sire, Indian Charlie had cancer and was euthanized according to a source close to Brereton C. Jones’s Airdrie Stud in Midway, Ky., where Indian Charlie stood.
Bob Baffert, who trained Indian Charlie, tweeted this morning about the sire’s death, saying: “Very sad to hear that we lost Indian Charlie. Gave us all great memories. Great horse and sire.”
From 10 crops to race, Indian Charlie’s North American champions are Uncle Mo, who won last year’s 2-year-old title; Indian Blessing, the 2007 champion juvenile filly and 2008 champion female sprinter; Fleet Indian, the 2006 champion older mare; and Indian Apple Is, a Canadian champion female sprinter. He also is the sire of the 2010 Panamanian champion juvenile Indiano, who won the Grade 2 Carry Back earlier this season at Calder.

Sure hope Dottie and John are planning to do a Zenyatta book featuring the kinds of wonderfully intimate photos (and perhaps comments) this site shares. Such a book would deepen the understanding and appreciation of those who care about the lives a race horse can experience when in the best of trainer and owner hands. Most importantly such a book would celebrate with the world the full depths of our unique Queen.

That picture is tres artsy!

Zenny – what a beautiful picture Sarah caught of you…..I can almost hear the silnce of this time of day with only the sound of horses breathing and munching. What a great time of year for you both to celebrate all your blessings together. I was out most of yesterday, so just got the great news about Michelle! Wow, my hats off to her; such a challenge to do and I can imaging Michelle that anyone will be better off by experiencing your insight and support! Cannot wait to visit your shop and see new photos of YOU!!!!

I missed yesterday’s post (I have been moving to new digs) but just wanted you to know that a lot of the Queen’s fans – including me – voted for Rapid Redux for Vox Populi this year. I said to Ann Maree that he is like the “Little Engine Who Could”. He does the best that he can every time – isn’t that what we all are taught? And of course, with Queen Z taking the lead, cheering him on and giving him High Hooves, many will follow such a gracious example.

Take good care of each other. You bring so much happiness to so many. I can’t wait to see your post each day. Love, love, and more love, h +++

And congratulations Michelle!!! I just finished my degree last summer, so I know how difficult it can be. It takes discipline and dedication, and a will to succeed. HIGH HOOF, Michelle!

Hello My Queen!
I love the fact you have a BFF with Tasty Temptation! I wonder who will deliver first!? I hope and pray you BOTH have a safe and uncomplicated delivery ~ whatever DATE that may be…. John Henry is tenacious though (as always), and HE is STILL hoping for March 9th (wink wink)
~~~~~~
Big peppermint kisses on your gorgeous nose and a kiss on your Baby Bump, too. I love you both so much! XOXOXOXO
Love the picture of you and Tasty, and Thanks to Sarah for taking it. What time do you and Tasty get turned out? From the looks of that picture Sarah took it aroud 7:00 CST. Just saw the article where Indian Charlie lost his battle with cancer. One of my horses is by Indian Charlie.Enjoy your day Queen Z, and stay dry, rain is on the way.
My beautiful girl;
It is truly wonderful to see new photos available from you. I especially LOVE the fact that in EVERY picture with Mike, you are under a hand ride! What a pair you were…AWSOME…GOD bless you both!
ABIGAIL FROM MONTREAL: Happy Birthday and have a wonderful trip to NYC! That’s where I was born and I still adore it. Two things to avoid: Mario Batali and another big chef just opened an Italian food mart in midtown. It is one of the biggest rip-offs I’ve ever seen. Products that sell in normal stores for $7.99 a pound sell there for $25.99!!!! Second, please avoid the carriage rides through Central Park. We are working so hard to close that abusive “ride” down becuase of what happens to the horses and how terribly they are used and housed. Thank you!
Z.I was in Kentucky in 91 and saw Strike the Gold win the Derby. It was very exciting. He had been my Derby pick for a couple of months. All week long everyone was telling me his stats weren’t there and he wouldn’t do well.
Personally stats don’t mean a whole lot to me because they don’t tell the whole truth. I knew someone years ago who played defense in basketball. Sadly her excellent defense skills were not acknowledge because of the way stats were formalized.
I was so sad to hear of his passing. I’m glad that the vet put him down and that he won’t suffer the indignity of slaughter.
I wonder if anyone is working on a plan to bring his remains home to be buried here in the States?
Such sad news about Indian Charlie. :( I remember seeing him race at Santa Anita.
I was just looking at my calendar for the upcoming months and realized that I have March 9 off of work! That is John Henry’s birthday, as you know, thanks to JAG :) Maybe me having the day off is another sign? Now that would be TOO CUTE!
ZENYATTA, you have such a dear heart. We lost Strike the Gold yesterday and I bet by now you have also heard about Indian Charlie – he’s Uncle Mo’s daddy – and was one of my favorites. Glad that you and TASTY are doing well – love those baby bumps…it won’t be long till you’ll hear the pitter patter of little hooves. Take care – it’s 80% chance of rain today for us…stay dry, sweets! xoxoxo
On the topic of BFF
The owl and the pussycat ~ One has fur and the other has feathers, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be friends.
