Hello,
The staff at Lane’s End did a fabulous job decorating the office for the holidays! And….YES….my ornament is on the tree. YIPPEE!
There I am! This is my Breyer holiday ornament that we offer in the Zenyatta Shop. It is rather special and I know only a limited number of them were made. The ones we are offering are even more special as they are signed by MY JOHN!
Also, I’d personally like to thank BECKY from Radcliff, Kentucky, for making an ornament of ME for ME. It also has a very special place on the tree.
(OH, there’s ME again at the top of this photo checking everything out! TOO CUTE! Becky, you did a great job! )
What a festive time of the year!
In addition to all of these FUN things, our responsibilities still continue. We have so many people working countless hours to make our industry function as smoothly as possible.
The Racing Symposium has been taking place in Arizona for several days now. The participants are actively working to review and discuss various aspects of our sport. They want to analyze areas which can be further developed so our industry can become stronger…on all levels. This is so worthwhile. Panelists from all over the country are sharing ideas all embracing a similar goal…to make this the best sport possible for everyone involved…both HORSE and HUMAN.
This requires a great deal of hard work. The knowledge and dedication of these individuals is greatly appreciated. I am personally sending each of them a HIGH HOOF for his/her efforts.
Racing Cards around the country are very competitive. I’m hearing the early start to the Gulfstream Park Meet is off to a wonderful beginning. Hollywood Park has several racing days left of their fall meet…and the Grade 1 Starlet for 2 year old fillies is their signature race of the weekend. Other tracks around the country are also offering many other fine racing opportunities!
So much to study and review. I truly want to keep on top of all of these things…so I better get busy!
Have a very special weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

Dear Zenyatta, I’m going broke in your shop! I already have your ornament BUT it’s not signed by YOUR JOHN! So I had to get another one! I have quite a few things signed by YOUR MIKE but not YOUR JOHN. I’m so excited to add it to the collection. Hope you and all your Lane’s End friends enjoy the holidays. Cathleen XOXXO

Zenyatta, hope you are feeling well and getting a few Christmas peppermints now and then. Visited the http://www.ntra.com website today to vote for the Moment of the Year. Also, explored Stablemates, part of the http://www.winstarfarm.com website which hosts 10 live web cams. WOW!!! On the News and Calendar section they showed their cutest foal pictures. Zenyatta, after looking at those sweet ones, I am more anxious than ever to see your First Born. Love ya.

Beautiful Tree for our Beautiful Zenny.
@D Stuart…would love to meet you at Santa Anita and have a visit to the carousel, unfortuantly I work in an industry that pretty much owns me during this time period:) Retail. But sure hope to meet many of you during Santa Anita and/or at the Breeders Cup!! My daughter lives just 15 minutes away from the track so this is one Breeders Cup I won’t miss.
@JAG…..March 8th :)
@Sally B and Abigail ..I have an aunt Daisy Mae who married D. May..so she became Daisy Mae May.
Hummm who to vote for the VP award…all great and I love them, but none touched me and gave me so much joy as you Dear Z.
You are one of a kind and remain a wonderful Blessing in my daily life.
Sweet Dreams to all xoxo

Beautiful Zenyatta and Dottie and all your wonderful connections,
I just ordered a Christmas ornament of YOU signed by my hero trainer, Your John. I got it from Your gift shop by going to Your facebook page and clicking on Merchandise at the top of the page. I looked under Collectibles and THERE it was. I love it and I’m looking forward to receivin’s it! I love looking at all the fun things. I saved and got the Breeder CUP Zenyatta special sweat shirt and it is so nice and cozy, especially with the cold weather. I’m going to start saving for my red Barn 55 tee shirt. Do you think Dottie or Your John would sign it in indelible ink? Wouldn’t that be the best tee shirt in the world?
@ALL: I misidentified Spirit in the pictures I posted on Z’s face book of the rescued herd of pretty horses. I told you that two, Hannah and Spirit, were so lucky to be adopted by the Beard family. I thought Dunny was being renamed Spirit, but that was me misunderstanding. So, I posted the picture of the REALLY Truly Spirit on facebook tonight. So pretty that I had to post it so you all could see that you helped a miracle happen for this pretty horse get the chance to live. Now we all know that this lucky horse has a new and loving family. Lucky horses, lucky people that found each other. Congratulations to all who helped and cheered and prayed for this to happen.

There are some Oops in my post above. My typing fingers should have said, “receiving” not receivin’s! I meant to say that Dunny is so pretty…to get the chance to live… OK I feel better with those corrections. Sorry my proofing skills took the night off. :)

I love kitties – I have (well, they have me!) two strays and I just love ’em (did I really just say that??)….same problem with the decorations. BUT DOES THAT STOP ME? OHHH NOOO – have to scale up trunk of tree (is there a Tarzan in the house? AHHHaHHO! Jane? a Cheetah? Ouch! backside splinters, in the you know what!)…. get kitties out (with as few battle scars and bandages as posible, geez like it’s 1776 again, never happens – forget trim the tree! must trim claws!)….replace about a box of bulbs (sigh, cha-ching!)…. rewind lights (choke, choke, gag, cough! are the eyes back in sockets yet??)…. straighten up decorations (decorations? er, mmmm is that what THEY were???)…. rewrap gifts (HAHA! yes, that’s what I got you! you’re on your own!)…. and replace bows (more like bits of tiny confetti, SIGH)…. ahhhhh, here kittie, kittie!….mmmmm maybe I’ll get a housebroken spouse (WHAT!? now I know I’ve lost it!)…. NAH! on second thought…here kittie, kittie, kittie! here kittie, kittie….SIGH, I love Christmas, and kitties….ho ho ho Meowy X-Mas!

Dear Zenyatta – Ordered my Z ornament, so I know it really will feel like a Christmas with you and Mike in a place on honor on my tree!
Got my DVR set up Sunday for Luck! on HBO – Hope it’s a bg hit. Big race tomorrow at HP . Here is to A VERY SAFE RIDE TO ALL HORSES AND JOCKEYS. You are all so precious and give us so much.
Delrene from Carlsbad - (California)
@ Sunny – that has been my thought too and posted it a few times awhile back. The Grand Marshal of the Pasadena Rose Parade??? either Z’s John and his wife Dottie as they live in the area – do you have to be a resident of Pasadena?? or just L.A. County – perfect ambassadors for the horse and racing industry and the float with Zenyatta’s likeness (I’m assuming never could get lucky enough for the real Z) The Arcadia entry could be all horses, all racehorses/ and Zenyatta as the star. It would be amazing!!!!

We just decorated our tree today, and yes, I have a Zenyatta oranment on it :)

A Birthday Poem for Patty Smith
Weekend of December 10-11, 2011
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Patty Smith has many a great memory
Of wonderful, magical Z,
Who for three years
Filled the air at Hollywood Park
With electricity.
Patty’s voice
Joined the cheers
Of thousands of fans
In the stands
For their singular choice.
This weekend Patty will embark
On a new year—
To Hollywood Park
She’ll again wend her way
To celebrate her special day
In a unique way,
With her very own name on race three!
For Patty
Saturday
Will also be
Another chance to see
The Mosses’ silks of pink and teal,
This time on a two-year-old gray,
By the name of Janero.
Patty will root with great zeal
For Janero
To go, go, go
For the sake of John, Jerry and Ann—
For Patty forever will be
A loyal fan
Of Team Z!
Perhaps she’ll also steal
To Barn 55 to see E,
Who brings her own magic and mystery—
Will E also make history?
Patty, I bet you’ll be there to see!
WISHING YOU A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND MANY MORE!
Mary
Z….love the tree…and the Z ornament. I guess you are all warm and in your stall as I am writing this so early this morning. I hope you will get to be outside in a few hours…you and your BFF, Tasty. Hugs to you …oh how I miss your dancing. You sure did wow us fans…and you wow us now…all we have to do is look at you…and we go…wow..how beautiful Zenyatta is…just standing there.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Good morning, Z, and Happy Birthday, Patty!
@stephanie (s in San Diego)—Daisy Mae May–love it!
@Karen Gogue–too cute!
Good morning Zenny, It’s cold. cold, here in Fort Erie this morning, sunny and we have a little bit of snow on the ground. I see some activity on the KHP web cam, trailers and some horses, but no snow. Enjoy your weekend with Tasty, I know that you’ll both be cheering for Janero.
@ Karen G – Christmas trees and kitties are like oil and water. They really believe that we put them up for their amusement so how can we get cross when they play Tarzan and David Beckham????
@Delrene from Carlsbad
I contacted the racehorse association of Cal last yr with that idea. My idea was an entire float with the entire Z-Gang team on it including the you know who, representing the racing association, but since Z-girl is rather extended by then may be have her beautiful sis as a stand -in. And make it a different racehorse with its team every yr. I’ve watched the last Rose Bowl Parade and there were floats from out of state there representing business. TB racing is a NATIONAL thing. Imagine Zenyatta with her Mike & Mario holding her and her owners and of course her CA barn VIPs. A true representation & recognition of everybody in that promotional event. Just a thought.
Zenny, thank you for sharing the photos of the LE tree and your fabulous self hanging from a bough. I just bought an ornament and can’t wait for it to arrive. Many thanks to John for signing it and making it even more precious. Happy weekends to all, MK
@Karen Gogue – Good morning my friend. Your Christmas kitty story was Too Cute!! I was laughing all the way, ho,ho,ho. :) :) Christmas trees and catnip, a kitty’s two most favorite things. I had not thought about the tree and my mother’s new kitty, things could get interesting at her house! Have a wonderful weekend, sweetie!
Dawn Conrad / Colorado
@Brenda S – Sounds like you and I are sharing the same weather,my dear. It is 18 degrees right now with just a dusting of snow. I must have about 30 birds around my feeder’s this morning with their feathers all fluffed up from the cold, they look twice their normal size. I think staying inside with a nice cup of tea and a good book or movie sounds like a plan, how about you. Say hello to Vic and Susan.
Dawn Conrad / Colorado
@DMCQ – I looked at the pictures you posted. They truly are beautiful, not just for how they look, but for what they represent; another at risk horse adopted. That is the most beautiful thing of all!
Dear Z and Z Fans:
Happy Saturday. The tree and your ornament, Z, are very beautiful. Hoping something really special for the welfare of our beloved TB’s and all horses comes out of the symposium in Arizona. Love you and love to all of you, Judy and Russ.
