Happy Thursday,
It is so pretty outside this morning. It is cool, brisk…yet totally comfortable and gorgeous! This is my second December in Lexington…so I gather this is their normal weather pattern for this time of the year. I rather like it!
Please note how my paddock fence is so white from the frost!
If I say so myself, I look PRETTY AS A PICTURE! (Blush, Blush!)
Sarah just stopped by to see ME a few moments ago…and I was giving her tons of kisses. She was on holiday for a few days recently…so I wanted to be sure to personally ‘welcome her back’!
People are quite busy now getting ready for the holidays. In the main office here at Lane’s End…the staff is decorating and putting up the Christmas Tree. Hmmm! I wonder if they will have MY ORNAMENT on it? Hope so! I’ll have to check this out!
Wishing you a lovely day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Zenny I have your ornament on my tree! I have always had only glass ornaments and lights, but your ornament is my one exception. Love this picture of you! It seems the cold doesn’t bother you very much, which is a good thing. I hear horses don’t mind the cold at all.

i wish i had your ornament! i’ll will add it to my christmas list along with your breyer horse model you will be my very first traditional! you are such an inspiration especially during my track season i kinda have your running style lol as some of the parents would say “she lags with the other runners then at the end she blows them off with the kick” you and all the other racehorses of history inspire me to run faster and work harder and i inspire other people to do what we both like to do!

That is some serious frost to turn a dark brown fence pure white.
I received your ornament as a gift last year and it has hung on a cabinet knob in my dining room ever since.
There is another race I think will be of interest coming up on Saturday at Hollywood Park. It will be race 4, Maiden special weight 120 lb. for 2 year olds, 6 furlongs on turf. The horse is Janero, trained by J. Shirriffs, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Moss, ridden by V. Espinoza. Sorry, I didn’t note the time, but Janero is in post 2.

Wow Zeny! What a beautiful picture of you out there. A beautiful day to enjoy the sun and snow. Enjoy the weekend.
I heard the news at noon today that lights are back in Arcadia. I am sure Dottie, John and Sophie are excited to go home.

Have to agree that Zenyatta is just about the best looking horse ever. THat is a great picture. @Rosemary McCauley-Actually, there is a redneck joke about leaving your Christmas lights up all year but there are so many homes in SoCal that do that the joke has lost its meaning. @Judy Berube-Thank you. How is Russ doing? @JAG-What happened to Kingston Rule was a direct result of him no longer “standing.” Happens to all of us geezers sooner or later. @Brenda S-It would really be redneck if you had two dishes AND cable. Here is today’s joke–Two priests died at the same time and met Saint Peter at the pearly gates. St. Peter said “I’d like to get you guys in now, but our computer is down. You’ll have to go back to earth for about a week, but you can’t go back as priests. SO, what else would you like to be?” The first priest says “I,ve always wanted to be an eagle, soaring above the Rocky Mountains.” “So be it,” says St. Peter and off flies the first priest. The second priest mulls this over for a moment and asks “Will any of this week ‘count’, St. Peter?” No, I told you the computer’s down. There is no way we can keep track of what you are doing.” “In that case,” says the second priest, “I’ve always wanted to be a stud.” “So be it,” says St. Peter, and the second priest disappears. A week goes by, the computer is fixed, and the Lord tells St. Peter to recall the two priests. “Will you have any trouble locating them?” He asks. “The first one should be easy,” says St. Peter, “He’s somewhere over the Rockies, flying with the eagles. But the second one could prove to be more difficult.” “Why?” asketh the Lord. “He’s on a snow tire somewhere in North Dakota.” @Rosemary McCauley and Diana S, charter members o the Arizona/New Mexico chaptert–You might be a redneck kif you’ve ever complained of bad service at a self-serve gas station. @Judy Berube, New England chapter president–You might be a redneck if you’ve ever gotten a ticket for a concealed slingshot. @Susan in TN and Kari Bussell-You might be a redneck if you baptized your dog. You might be a redneck if your goat sang at your wedding. You might be a redneck if you have ever made change in the Salvation Army bucket. I might not post until next week, but I’ll try.

You always look beautiful. I’m glad that you are enjoying the weather. It is such a wonderful time of the year especially in Kentucky and this part of the country. It won’t be long until you see the snow. Take care and enjoy every day. I haven’t been at you site for some time now. You look fantastic. Blessings to you and your connections.

@Terry Crow–you’re outdoing yourself today. You are hereby not allowed to miss a day ever. We need the laughs!
@JAG–I love that “Sugar, Sugar: song too.
@Sweet Z– you are a photographer’s dream. Always ready to pose regally and always interested in what’s going on. Our German Shepherd (aka Little Z.) reminds me of you!
@Sharon in Seattle– yes, cheering, indeed. I don’t suppose you are coming down? It would be such fun to meet. Wish I had the nerve to wear my Dumpling tag. With my luck, I’d be carted off and miss the game! I’m getting jittery about the Heisman.

My gosh Zenny but you are so beautiful!! I was thinking the other day about the name Lane’s End. It has such a peaceful, welcoming, homey sound to it, and what a fabulous home it is for you at the END of
of your racing career. I’m so glad to have been there is person to see it even thought I couldn’t see you……I did blow you a kiss on the breeze, I hope you got it.

You look so beautiful as ever and happy girl in the brisk but not to cool weather. So happy your owners spent a recent afternoon spoiling you and reminding you how glorious you are. Can’est believe how fast the year has gone and a foal will appear soon.
I am planning a trip to Kentucky next summer and I read that Uncle Mo visitors cannot pet him? Just because of a possibility of a bite. Now the queen would never and we love her. She likes everything…crying babies, dogs, cats and all people.. Lover her!! P.S. I don’t hold that against Uncle Mo.
