Happy Thursday,
It is so pretty outside this morning. It is cool, brisk…yet totally comfortable and gorgeous! This is my second December in Lexington…so I gather this is their normal weather pattern for this time of the year. I rather like it!
Please note how my paddock fence is so white from the frost!
If I say so myself, I look PRETTY AS A PICTURE! (Blush, Blush!)
Sarah just stopped by to see ME a few moments ago…and I was giving her tons of kisses. She was on holiday for a few days recently…so I wanted to be sure to personally ‘welcome her back’!
People are quite busy now getting ready for the holidays. In the main office here at Lane’s End…the staff is decorating and putting up the Christmas Tree. Hmmm! I wonder if they will have MY ORNAMENT on it? Hope so! I’ll have to check this out!
Wishing you a lovely day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Hey hopefully all is good with you. I wonder if you come in at night or if you stay outside. I know most broodmares do stay out. I am sure your ornament has got to be on the tree. I think a pic should be sent of this tree to.

Don’t slip and fall Baby Girl! I love you x0x00x

If I could, Big Mama Z, I’d love to come see you and hang a big festive wreath around your neck. Tee hee! Glad you are loving the cold weather. Too cold for me. Happy Holidays to all of Team Z!

Z – You never fail to pull me out of my depression with your writings on FB. It is little things in life that make all the difference in the world. Who knew that you, as a horse, could make me feel better? Or is it memories from my childhood when I got my first pony at 3. My dad was into bribery and he said if I stopped sucking my thumb he would give me a pony. Guess what? That night I stopped and I got a pony. And my dad took me to the 100th running of the KY Derby!!
Have a great holiday season Z. Try not to do so much. Gotta keep that baby grow and grow!
Love yuo.

@Debbie G and DMCQ-Thank you. @Helen Donnelly-Good one. Are you willing to be the president of the Michigan chapter of the redneck club? Trina Nagele would be a member emeritus. @Susan in TN-Glad to see all is well with my man Chester. @Rosemary McCauley and Diana S, charter members of the Arizona/New Mexico chapter–You might be a redneck if you take notes during telecasts of The Flintstones @Judy Berube, president of the New England chapter–You might be a redneck if you ever played spin the suppository @Susan in TN and Kari Bussell-You might be a redneck if you’ve ever gone steady with something that wore a collar. You might be a redneck if your outhouse has a satellite dish. You might be a redneck if the exact duplicate of your family portrait is hanging on the wall at the post office. Will post a joke later.

Zenyatta. It appears that a year at Lane’s End has made you even more incredibly beautiful. Great photo of a magnificent racing mare.

@Heidi, wow! Your dad was a man of his word. Few things are cuter than a toddler riding a pony.

Dearest Zenyatta,
You look so glorious! Kentucky, the state where I was also born, must really agree with you. I don’t think you could look more beautiful even if you tried.
I’m sure an ornament of you will be hanging on the tree at Lane’s End. After all, you are a perfect Christmas Star!
Love to you and Tasty!

Zenny ~ I have to share a “too cute” story! On my drive into work, I noticed two small dogs being walked. One was “dancing and prancing” to the beat of the song on my radio: “SUGAR, SUGAR” (by the Archies – and oldie) Part of the lyrics: “…You are my Candy Girl…” SMILE SMILE SMILE I thought of YOU!!

Sarah, thank you for the wonderful picture. Zenyatta, I have asked Santa for one of your ornaments. 2 pictures of you, that I ordered from this website, arrived in perfect shape last week, so tomorrow I will try to find just the right frames. You are such a beauty. Stay warm

You are gorgeous! Happy holidays everyone!

I have your Christmas ornament, too – which I’m going to keep out all year long, by the way. You are always pretty as a picture, Zenyatta. I just love your expressive ears, sweet girl!

You look beautiful, Zenny! I will be sending you some Logan’s candy canes very soon — I gave some to your JOHN last year — so you can contribute to the holiday festivities at Lane’s End. I know how much you love your peppermints and these are the BEST handmade candy canes in the world! I only wish I could give them to you in person and share some peppermint kisses. :)

Zenny…Nice picture by Sarah! I thought at first that was snow on the fence; glad to hear it was just frost. We’ve got some of that here too. When the sun hits it, it sparkles. Sort of like something magical. (Now there’s an idea for a baby name….Something Magical).
Take care, girl. I’ve got a print of your lovely painting at the framer now and it should have it back on the 12th along with some very old ink paintings of my own from back in 60’s (rodeo events). Had to get something done with them for posterity.
Have a great day everyone!

You look fabulous Zenny, I don’t see your sweater so I’m guessing that you’ve grown a winter coat that keeps you and the “little” one warm. Please be careful when you and Tasty are playing, I don’t want either of you to slip. Please tell Sarah thanks for the picture and don’t worry about the office tree, it will definitely have at least one of your ornaments.
D Stuart
@Zenyatta: YOU are the ornament for my virtual Christmas tree!

@Terry Crow: Glad you’re back to class up the joint. But I have a question – doesn’t everyone have a satellite dish on the outhouse or is that only for us rich rednecks???

This is certainly going to be a special springtime with the births of Little Z and Little Cloud – Thanks to all of your “zisters” Zenny, who made Marlene’s last rescue a success. Loved the pictures of the black & white paint, along with the mares and the Little Cloud baby bump that were posted under Hooray on the equi-army-ndo.com site. Mayby some day Little Cloud will grow up and be baby Z’s pony at the track. Now that would be Too Cute.

I keep YOUR ornament hanging up year round on the knob of a cabinet in my living room. @Terry Crow and all Redneck members – I believe this is true redneck behavior when you keep your Xmas ornaments up all year long. The original Redneck Woman, Gretchen Wilson, wrote a verse for the song Redneck Woman, that says “…And I keep my Christmas lights on on my front porch all year long.”
On a different note, I understand The Queen’s Dance, Zenyatta’s life size painting is being displayed at the Brown Hotel in Louisville. I went to the hotel’s website and it is a truly grand hotel, and very fitting for THE QUEEN to have her portrait displayed there. I haven’t heard how long it will be at the Brown Hotel or where it will permanently reside. If anyone has time to look at the Brown Hotel website, it provides some beautiful hotel photos.
