Good Morning,
Often while I’m out in the paddock relaxing with TASTY, I have a great deal of time to THINK! It suddenly occurred to ME yesterday that ONE YEAR has passed since I was at BARN 55—-stretching my legs and doing my ‘last lap under tack’ with Steve around the training track.
One year…..WOW! It seems like just yesterday!
It is truly amazing how quickly time flies by. I imagine that is why people always say it is so important to enjoy and appreciate each day. I am really trying to subscribe to this philosophy. Each day is so special….and TASTY and I treat them as such.
A mare is ‘in foal’ for approximately 11 calendar months. Look how quickly this time is progressing for ME. I am due at the beginning of March…so just a few more precious months to go! I am eating properly, getting the appropriate amount of exercise each day….and truly enjoying each moment. LANE’S END does monitor my weight carefully….and I am gaining the perfect amount of weight each month now for a MOM-TO-BE.
MY FOAL does like to ‘move about’ quite a bit. As I understand it, you can actually see my tummy ‘wiggle’ when the baby does so. This is TOO CUTE!
Wishing you a wonderful day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

Time flies when you’re having fun! It is amazing indeed that it was a year ago when you were winding down from racetrack life to the life of a beautiful mare/mom who deserves every ounce/iota of spoiling, luxury and rest possible. Stay healthy beautiful Zenyatta!

OOoooh, a year has passed since then. How I miss the “Zenyatta days”! I still love the races, but a day at the races when Z was running was an event. A festival! A “happening”! Man, there was nothing else like it. What a sense of community and excitement! The Breeder’s Cup was good, but NUTHIN’ like 2009 and 2010. I couldn’t get to Churchill, but saw the videos- WOW! Santa Anita at her Classic win is forever etched in my brain. I can still here the crowd when she made that inside move. And after she won. I miss that. I miss Z, but very happy for her now:)

Hello Pretty Girl! One of the most exciting days of my life will be when your foal is born….I know for sure I will shed tears of happiness…for you, your baby and the Moss’s! I gotta tell I CAN’T WAIT…but must let nature take its course…I love you so much Zenyatta…you will never know but I hope to be able to visit you and your baby at Land’s End in 2012!

Hi Zenny: Wow a year has come and gone. Thinking back to all those wonderful and exciting memories you gave us during 2010.
So glad you and your baby are in good health. You must be getting very excited. I know we are.

In yesterday’s diary, Zenyatta made reference to John & Dottie home being close to this loction…

@Judy Sims in Florida–too cute!
@Doreen in CT–just sent my letter to the agriculture committee
@Dottie–we love you for making this diary a priority despite personal inconvenience. We would all be adrift missing Z. without direction in the horse world to channel the love she engendered in us.

Oh Zenny, just love closing my eyes and visualizing your “foal tummy wiggle” :)! Love you big girl! You will be a wonderful mom I’m sure!

Zen,
It does seem like yesterday that you were saying good bye to the track. But I am so glad that you get to enjoy the juices of life in your retirement. Eagerly awaiting the March arrival.:)))

Love you Z! Can’t wait to see your little one. I miss seeing you race and hearing Trevor Denman the track announcer shouting ZENYATTA! She is just toying with them! Fun to watch on you tube. Wish you had a dvd of all your races with the exception of the last heartbreaker. But you gave them a run sweet Z!
greenfairy
Dear Z, one of my classes talked about racing and I showed a video about you and played Lisa Fly’s song. A student got so interested she’s doing her semester paper on YOU! She thinks you’re wonderful and talked about you all during Thanksgiving dinner. Love you!

Good evening Z-Mom-To-Be :)
my goodness, I bet it tickles you right in the tummy when your little one kicks up his/her hooves, he or she might already be running races inside. :) Every time you run, that little foal gets the feel of it, the rhythm of your large strut. How you accelerate, slow down, come to a stop. I’m glad you & Tasty are comming along well.
Have a good night

Zenyatta, oh for a live webcam of you…Not sure what was up with the Kentucky Horse Park webcam this morn, but looks like they repaired the problem. What would I do without my Cigar fix every day…I have a flag of you draped over my computer room door. Those eyes of yours are really something. They have helped me through thick and thin. Zenyatta, may you have an easy delivery and a beautiful/handsome filly/colt. Sweet Dreams. (That baby of yours is probably practicing THE Z Strut.)
Celeste/ Massachusetts
Hi Dottie and Zenyatta!! Did you see the post from Bridget regarding the Australian stallion Lonhro? WOW, he is a male counterpart to you Zenyatta. Watch the videos of some of his races; he is amazing. Maybe the Mosses will consider him for your next baby!!! Cannot wait to see this one; March is not too far away. So glad you are doing so well.
