Good Morning,
Often while I’m out in the paddock relaxing with TASTY, I have a great deal of time to THINK! It suddenly occurred to ME yesterday that ONE YEAR has passed since I was at BARN 55—-stretching my legs and doing my ‘last lap under tack’ with Steve around the training track.
One year…..WOW! It seems like just yesterday!
It is truly amazing how quickly time flies by. I imagine that is why people always say it is so important to enjoy and appreciate each day. I am really trying to subscribe to this philosophy. Each day is so special….and TASTY and I treat them as such.
A mare is ‘in foal’ for approximately 11 calendar months. Look how quickly this time is progressing for ME. I am due at the beginning of March…so just a few more precious months to go! I am eating properly, getting the appropriate amount of exercise each day….and truly enjoying each moment. LANE’S END does monitor my weight carefully….and I am gaining the perfect amount of weight each month now for a MOM-TO-BE.
MY FOAL does like to ‘move about’ quite a bit. As I understand it, you can actually see my tummy ‘wiggle’ when the baby does so. This is TOO CUTE!
Wishing you a wonderful day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

I hope the anti-horse slaughter bill gains momentum. It’s disgusting and inumane to slaughter horses. Everyone keep contacting your representatives and senators. Glad Zenny and Tasty are doing so well with their pregnancies.

Z. I wonder if Dottie realized when she started this site how it would blossom out as it did. (she cannot stop now), but I have a feeling she is enjoying it too. We have to give her a HIGH HOOF for all her wonderful posts. How else would we get infomation on our QUEEN. So nice to hear about your wiggling foal. Hope you enjoy your motherhood. Kisses on your soft nose and baby too. XOXO

@Linda M – thanks for sharing the letter.
@All – If calling and faxing the White House doesn’t work – I think that’s the easiest and fastest way to repeal the law, perhaps sending letters, emails, faxes or calling your representatives on each committee would be a good start as well as contacting your own representatives whether they are part of these committees or not. Here’s the link to the members of the Agriculture committee: http://agriculture.house.gov/singlepages.aspx?NewsID=1222&LSBID=23%7C69&RBSUSDA=T

@All – Here’s the link to the Energy and Commerce Committee if you want to contact them: http://energycommerce.house.gov/signup/contact.shtml
It might be easier to directly contact your representative instead, unfortunately, although their names are listed, you can’t click on their name to contact them like you can on the Agriculture Committee website.

Dear Zenyatta and Dottie – Thanks so much for today’s endearing post. Could not help but bring a big smile to my face! Love the baby wiggle comment. I’m thinking…. that little foal is practicing her Momma’s big kick from behind and coming down the track like a choo-choo train past all the others. Saw it, loved it, miss it terribly. Have a super wonderful day Zenyatta. It’s beautiful and very nippy for SO. CAL.

@Karen Gogue-I sent you an email concerning your project. Hope we get some responses.

Dear Zeny: Just a few more months. So excited to hear your baby is moving and you are doing well. I hope Tasty is doing well too. My daughter’s birthday is March 17, St. Patrick’s Day. It’s a great day to have your baby. Reminds me, you must have some Irish in you. You love Guinnees Beer.
Love and hugs to you and Tasty! Marilu

Hi Z and Baby Wiggles- Zenny I hope you and Tasty are still together after the little ones are born–it would be great to see them playing and running around together. I’m sure your John will take the perfect “motherly look” expression of your face when that times happens. Enjoy your days Sweetie.

Zenny – as a human Mom, I will always describe it initially as “butterflies dancing” across my tummy. as the 9 months came to a close it was lots of rolling and clomping about. That is why I knew in my heart ( before people could find out) my baby was a boy! And he of course is now 41. These moments are joyous. On another subject I misspelled practicing/practising? You are too cute and your scribe/Dottie is very good at painting a word picture. Must do spell check before….
Many beautiful posts today. Must go to your facebook and look at these videos again.

@ JAG – Thank you so very much for the info on KHP site, I have been looking for Cigar for several days and wondering why I was seeing Pikeville. I am a total idiot when it comes to computers and so assumed that I must have done something wrong. Such a relief to learn it wasn’t my fault!!!

Sweet Z, perhaps your foal already knows one of your dancing moves!! Time flys by; last Dec 6th I was estactic when I saw you one last time at the farewell at Keeneland. It was a cold day-evening but you warmed me all over. I love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow! Happy to hear you & Tasty are doing so well; God Bless
love with 2 kisses on your soft nose, one for baby z

Dear Zenny/Dottie,
What a very lovely post. So exciting that your foal is moving
And can be seen with your side rippling. During her
Breeder’s Cup visit Dottie mentioned she felt the baby move
On a visit, when she was interviewed. Soon baby Z/B will be here
And running with you in your paddock. We miss your racing days,
But so glad you are a horse, with a very special friend and running
Free. That stall at Bar 55 is pretty small and being tethered to a human
Is a good life for a shortime. So very glad you are FREE at Lane’s End.
They take such good care of you. Sweet Dreams. XXXX

@Terry Crow
Great to have you back from your wonderings.
Sounds like returning to CA was the best for you.

@Kari Bussell; I have been going back and clicking on some links. Thanks so much for the link to Tinker. Guess what; the Cabela’s where Tinker was is only 15 minutes from my home. I went there for boots Tinker was not there. Of course I asked when Tinker would be there again. The reply was generally on a Sat. or Sunday but no set schedule. Tinker is the cutest ringing that bell!!

@all, finally clicked the links to vote S1176 American horse slaughter prevention and to the Whitehouse. Had trouble with the finish for Whitehouse. Guess I will personally type Congressman, Senators of my state and to Obama. (Sorry to bring up politics-just needed to let you know)

Yes times flies. My adorable Zenyatta your tummy wiggles, oh that’s so cute, I hope these three months flies with the same speed that this year went, I cannot wait to see your baby, hugs and kisses to you and to Tasty, Ingrid.
@ Dear D J, welcome back, and thank you for the most beautiful prayer, amen Ingrid.
@ Bridget, you so right, when I saw this gorgeous horse in TVG name Lonhro, I thought he will be great to be Zenyattas second husband, Ingrid.
Karen
You are too cute, Zenyatta, and baby will be as precious as you are.

@JAG in So.Cal (aka Auntie Judy) this is what I submited on my post card for the Zenyatta bronze #19 contest:
*****************************************
This is what Zenyatta means to me:
Z = Zealous
E = Endearing
N = Noble
Y = Yearning
A = Awesome
T = Transcendental
T = Transformative
A = Adored
*****************************************
Fun idea as we are all reliving the past year since Zenny left the race world to become a mom.
What a remarkable gift and blessing she has been for all who surround her both up close and from afar.
