Dear Friends,
I sincerely hope each of you had a very peaceful and loving holiday. The time we spent at the farm visiting with everyone was wonderful. I am overwhelmed by all of your support, love, and warm wishes to myself and MY TEAM.
I will forever be grateful to each of you!
In life, things may often travel an unexpected path. Sometimes, the surprises are wonderful and joyful. Other times, no matter how hard you work and no matter how hard you try, the result is totally out of your control and not as positive as you would hope.
I’d personally like to thank each of you for the concern and love you have expressed for CLOUD MAN. He definitely ‘knows’ how you all feel and the many candles and prayers you honored him with yesterday.
Needless to say, it is a very sad time for MY TEAM. They loved him very, very much…and he will be greatly missed.
Your kindness and thoughtfulness, as always, is deeply appreciated and means so much to all of us!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~(Special blessings…dear Cloud Man)

@signofthetimes;
I was watching the post parade on TVG and Cloud Man was behaving like Zenny…a bounce in his step..on his toes and looking like a dressage performance. I saw Mike pull him up just as he began to make his move…such a terrible loss…
GOD bless Mike…he kept it from turning into something far worse…fullblown breakdown in general view…he is a wonder…

I heard about Irrefutable the other day but didn’t know Mikeynwas up. Wow it must really suck to have such a lousy few days. I know this is a part of horse racing but it still sucks. Don’t know if Team Z was a part of Irrefutable. Still reading.

@Sue Noel–I know what you mean. We lost our dear Izzie in ’97, and every time I see a Golden Retriever, my heart stops. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DONATING TO VALLEY VIEW IN MEMORY OF CLOUD MAN.I hope the donations pour in. Z’s supporters are the most kind and loving to be found.
Love you Z and Dottie/John, Jerry/Ann, Mikey, and all in Barn 55.

I’d like to express my sympathy to the Mosses and everyone at Barn 55 for the untimely loss of Cloud Man. Who knows what this handsome boy might have achieved in his career — but now he’s romping in that big celestial pasture, free of pain and fear. It was a terrible weekend for Mike Smith and others involved with the horses that were lost. May they all rest in peace.

Zenny, what sad news about Cloud Man. He was such an up and comer with what appeared to be a great future ahead of him.
We never question why but take heart in the joy this wonderful being gave to all who were closely associated with him. Ann and Jerry must feel a huge loss as do all at Barn 55 who cared for and loved him dearly. I am eternally grateful that you, My Queen, always came home happy and safely. It’s astounding when you think of the many who aren’t as fortunate…especialy those lost over the weekend. May Cloud Man be at peace in the heavens with the rest of God’s creatures.

so, so sad and sorry to learn about Cloud Man and all the other wonderful TBs who we lost this weekend. RIP, one and all. I love JAG’s image of John Henry greeting Cloud Man at the Rainbow Bridge, there to show him the ropes, so to speak.
My sincerest condolences to all the TB’s people connections. Loss may be part of the sport, but I’m sure no one ever gets use to it or feels that in any way it’s not devastating.

Dear Z and all of your team. I have hesitated to open your site today, hoping for the best and seeing that as your Dottie says, life takes unsuspecting turns. This is a sad day for all of Barn 55. I agree with all, Cloudman was a very handsome, classy horse. I’ve cried my tears and I like the one person’s idea that a gift to a horse rescue charity of your choice is good idea in the name of Cloudman and all of the horses this weekend that passed over to the Rainbow Bridge. They were doing what they love to do. In Cloudman’s case as well as I’m sure the others, he was in the care of the finest professionals and sometimes the right thing to do is the hardest. I’m so glad I got to see him in person. Cloudman you were quite the looker. It is a sad day. Thank you though for letting us know and for having this wonderful site to share our feelings. Dear Zenyatta and Team Z, what a miracle you all are. This is the part of horseracing that is so heartbreaking.

He isn’t gone, He has just gone Home. I’m sure he is in a great green pasture with all the Greats, running around and having a grand old time. RIP

Ms. Caswell-Brown and Abigail and all. I’ve had a chance to read more of the posts. All so eloquent and so very true. I wanted to look at something about Zenyatta after reading them and I selected her “Tribute Day @ Hollywood Park” For those who were able to be there and experience the World of Zen, it was amazing. I will always be grateful to be a very small part of all things Zenny..http://hollywoodpark.com/calendar/zenyatta-appreciation-day

The very hardest part of racing. So many have been injured at Hollywood Park, what is going on?

Zenny, So sorry to hear about Cloud Man. I happened to be watching the race & saw the horse suddenly being pulled up. Such a sad day for Barn 55. My thoughts are with the Team Z group. On a happier note, your beautiful poster arrived today. Can’t wait to get it framed. Take care Z girl. Love you so much.

poor cloud man! we will pray for him and team z.FROM YOUR BIGGEST FAN AMY.

I was at HP yesterday, we knew that Cloud Man had been pulled up but that’s all we knew. Since Mike pulled her up on the backstretch (or heading into the turn) it was hard to tell how bad he was injured. My heart goes out to all, this is the part of horse racing that is so painful. I love all the horses with a special soft spot for the Moss’s and Sherriff’s barns because of our dear Z!

R.I.P Cloud Man !My Sympathy to all whom feel the loss of him and to all the Z fans that also had their personal loss of beloved pets this weekend.Being from the racing world,I know it never gets any easier to lose one,the pain flys through the barn like a plague and we go on by giving more love to those still standing in the stalls and thank God for the precious time we had with them.

I was hoping for a better outcome but, we know how much he was loved and cared for by Barn 55. So sorry to hear about this! My heart is just breaking for everyone involved and thank Gawd that Mike was able to pull him up and out of the way of the other horses! I know this can happen at anytime and anyplace but, it’s part of the sport that I will never get used too! Zenny, give your connections all a huge hug for me and to Mike as well. Poor guy!!
My condolences go out to all the horses and their connectiions that suffered a loss over the weekend. Horrible weekend for Racing. RIP CloudMan and all the horses that lost their lives.

I echo the sentiments of many of the fans on this website. Seeing or hearing that a horse has been euthanized makes me sick to my stomach. I have always wondered if we are puttting horses at risk when we race them. It is happening too often & is very traumatizing to me even as a bystander.

Run free and happy, forever, dear Cloud Man. SO sorry!

You are so special for God to have wanted you with him so soon.

What sad news! A terrible reminder of how fragils these beautiful animals are. Cloud Man was full of promise. It is such a blessing that Z was able to retire healthy. Many do not. Cloud Man & Z were/are fortunate to be surrounded by caring owners & a wonderful loving team.
