Thank you so much for all the good wishes from all of your connections. Our Thanksgiving was a wonderful time with family and as always, I was holding you in my heart, always grateful for having followed your racing career and now so thankful for the continuing connection through Dottie via your diary. You fill my heart with such happiness and help to ease some of the saddest places that reside there. Thank you.

Hi Zenyatta,
Such great memories you have to share and the photos say it all. I want you to know that the group of Kindergarteners who made your large card last year, who are now big 1st graders, have been asking about you. I printed up a photo of you and Tasty to show them how you look and are doing today. They wanted me to tell you how much they love you and have not forgotten you. I gave them shirts in June with your picture on them so they will have fond memories of their Zenyatta experience. They truly were a gift just as you are to your team. They are truly way older than their years.
I just thought you would like to know that they were thinking about you.

Happy Thanksgiving, to you and all your wonderful team. Thanks again for making it possible for us to be a part of Zenyatta’s life.

Dearest Z and Dottie–boy, I leave the computer for just a few hours, and look waht pops up: a new post already with pictures of so many of our friends–all of Team Z. Mario and Steve–we’ll never forget you! Dottie, thank you for including the ever-adorable Sophie. I just want to hug her! And Tasty and Z are both TOO CUTE together! Thank you all so much for this diary.
@Delrene and Trina–I agree about Horse and Man. I’m addicted to it just like Z’s Diary. Just can’t afford to get behind.
@Sunny Boyd–thank you for the lovely post. It is just this fact about the intelligence and feelings of the horse that make it so unacceptable when they are treated badly or come to a less than loving end.
@Kari Bussell–ok , here goes–“Rcoky Top. Old Rocky Top, Rocky Top Tennessee.” There! (Lady Bears, you didn’t hear that!) I wouldn’t sing that 2 days before the big game for anyone but you, Kari.
My prayer for you is that you will have many more Thanksgivings for us all to share together. We’re holding your hand the whole way. Hugs.
Diana S
@Zenyatta and ALL Teams Z: What beautiful photos and sentiments! THANK YOU!
Special note to Sophie: I’m a cat rescue lady, but you are SO CUTE I’d love to swoop you up and smooch you all over!
@Z and Tasty – oh boy! Those big tummies can’t be denied now in that last cute photo with Sarah!

REPOSTING from #384 so the word gets out.
@All DUMPLINGS AND Z-STERS PLANNING ON COMING TO BC 2012 AT SANTA ANITA:
Getting hotels and motels right away is important!Rooms are already booking up and rates are being raised. So rather than waiting to make a cool flyer with all sorts of other BC information on it, I wanted to give everyone a heads up. I have made a Word document with hotels and motels and their distances from the track to get you started. Email me at diastu46@gmail.com and I will send the list to you. Don’t forget, you can always cancel later. Less time critical information in a couple weeks.

Dear Zenyatta,
Thank you for the lovely words and for sharing such beautiful pictures on Thanksgiving. You always make the days special. Wishing you, Tasty and your wonderful families and friends health and happiness. Love, hugs, peppermint kisses and maybe a few bites of sweet potato for you and TT too.
Marilyn& Teralisha
Happy Thanksgiving from Montana! Your posting gives us additional joy on a day to be thankful – for everything and everyday. Your posting gives Marilyn & I warm happy “i love horse racing” feeling. We all realize we give thanks to everyone who cares and everyone who dares to be great – because the game is not easy but it is a game we love with all our hearts. Blessings to you Lady Z

What a beautiful and touching Thanksgiving message!!! Thank you SO much to you all!!Zenny,I’ll bet you had a wonderful day with pears and peppermints and almost (probably no Guiness) all of your favorite things!!
I must say that I did spend some time thinking about how very grateful I am for this wonderful web-site and for all of the wonderful people who are a part of it–and,of course, most of all,for you!!
All of the pictures lately have been just amazing—my very favorite being the one of you two running!! I have been trying to get caught up on all of everyone’s comments before posting, but, when I saw this lovely greeting to us all,I could wait no longer!!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that all who were,or will be,traveling have safe trips.
@ Terry C.-Was so very sorry to hear that you lost your friend Don. He was surely lucky to have had you for such a good friend and I’m sure you felt the same way about him. May you really feel all the love and support pouring at you from your friends here!!
@ Dear Dawn Conrad–Hope you had a perfect day ! I have been meaning to comment about your post regarding Steve Cauthen—-I just loved him!!! I did not know that he had returned here to live! I knew that he rode and lived in England for some time after his Triple Crown rides and was quite the country squire. Aren’t you so lucky to have met him and been able to have a good visit. Oh,how I would love to get a chance to tell him how much I respect him and how I cheered him on when he was riding Affirmed. What a truly amazing young man he was. I surely was reminded of him at the Breeders Cup when that modest, but amazingly confident, young man from Ireland was the youngest winner ever!!
Hope all continues to go well for you. I look eagerly for your posts every day!! You are always in my thoughts and prayers!!
@ Tasty T.–You are the most beautiful grey I’ve ever seen!! You and Zenny look so lovely together and she is very lucky to have you as a friend. High hooves and a huge Thank You to all of your connections for allowing your photos and news of you to be shared with us on this web-site! It is very generous of them and I know we all appreciate it a lot!! We love you too!!!
Since we’ve heard nothing about Pirate Queen for a long time,I have been wondering if her connections were uncomfortable about her getting so much attention from all of us?
Hope you have a lovely day,Zenny, with some sun on your back and a bit of a soft breeze to ruffle your mane. LOVE YOU!!!
Diana S
@Karen Gogue: Thank you for the link to Blind Luck’s new “digs” – yeah, right – like the Hilton for Horses! What beautiful stalls! Wonder if they’ll allow a sleep over for charity??? I’ll even whinny!

Z, in that picture you look like a painting of a magnificent horse. I can see every muscle in shades of color. What a happy, healthy horse you must be

Prompted by “Black Friday,” the Horse and Man blog today discusses the genetics of the black color in horses! At the end is a photo of a glorious “black” horse with “blond” mane and tail, with the promise that this and other color variations will be discussed in the future. http://horseandman.com/

Your Thanksgiving comments brought tears to my eyes. It’s wonderful to know that you’re aware of all the goodness that surrounds you.

Oh my goodness–after I posted I read all the messages and learned about the 4 horses that broke down at Hollywood Park—how terrible!! That is the hard part about racing for sure. It is so heartbreaking each time it happens. RIP sweet ones!!!

@Diana S: I was just thinking of the 2012 BC this morning. I brought up hotels in Pasadena and also in Burbank last month, but at that time it was too early to reserve rooms at any of the area hotels. I would appreciate the info. I’ll email you. Thanks for thinking ahead.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
@Sue Noel–I believe that Pirate Queen has a new pasture mate because her first breeding “took” and Z’s didn’t, so they now have different due dates. I believe that’s how TT and Z. got together.
@Trina–thanks for posting the Horse and Man link. I was going to if you didn’t. Hugs.
Linda in NJ
@Diana S: It doesn’t appear as though the dates for the 2012 BC have been announced as of yet. I thought it was the 1st Sat. in Nov., but one year the BC was held at the end of Oct.

CONGRATULATIONS, Barn 55! Mr. and Mrs. Moss’ two-year-old colt, BLINGO (Artie Schiller) wins debut at Hollywood Park in awesome style!

JAG- I tried to find your facebook site, but every combination of your names I could conjure up led nowhere. What is your fb site under? I am wanting to see
the pictures from the carousel outing.
Thanks, Mary

Hope it was a wonderful Thanksgiving for Z and Team Zenyatta. Just think…it was Thanksgiving week-end, 2007, when Z won her first race. And it wasn’t long before we knew how special she would be! A nice feature on “Zenyatta’s Classic” last night on TVG – that was so much fun to watch again!

Thumbs up for Blingo!

@Trina. What about liver chestnut? I’ve see this color especially in arabians but don’t see a reference to it in this article. Liver Chestnut is also not referenced in the pictures.
@Sue Noel. I’ve looked and looked and can’t find where the 4 horses broke down at Hollywood Park. Can you help me find this?
Sharon Call, Atlanta, GA
Congrats to Blingo, Mikey, John and the Mosses. This is a really good looking 2 year old. Mikey said the colt is still a little “quirky” and Mikey had to get his attention a little to get the colt’s mind on the race. This is Blingo’s maiden and he took it in fine style.
