So sorry about Irrefutable and Waltzing with Blue, May God have you both with him now.

Thank you Peggy (N)
Yes, let’s not forget WALTZING WITH BLUE! He was a 5 year old gelding.
Irrefutable was a also 5 years old.
Prayers for jockey, Daniel Vergara, who fell with WWB!

Condolences to JAG, JSmith, and again to Karen Gogue and also to the horse’s connections on the sudden passing of Irrefutable. Condolences to the connections of Waltzing with Blue, and prayers for jockey Daniel Vergara.
@Barbara Wood and All–re: the 11th photo down–can a bulldog be just 21 pounds? Is there such a thing as a miniature bulldog? http://horseandman.com/

As we try to come from behind and win a big one we can’t help but think of how easy you made it look Zenny.

@SoCal Dumplings: Yesterday I was so jealous that I wasn’t there, today I am so thankful! I would have been mortified by the loss of two precious lives! RIP to the two new angels at the Rainbow Bridge.
Today I spent several hours with my rescue Hot Under Pressure (“Hoot”) and am so happy he came off the track sound (and TOO CUTE!), just like you did Zenny – an amazing feat by JOHN to keep you sound all that time.
@Sweet Trina: You know they are like potato chips – you can’t have just one rescue dog (or cat). Is your little English Bulldog the start of a new “herd” like you had before? Let’s buy another ranch for all of them!

Good luck to CLOUD MAN, the Mosses, John and Mikie in the Hollywood Derby (Grade I) Sunday, Nov. 27, Race 9, 4:37 PM PST.
@ Kari Bussell/Good Ole Rocky Top(Whoo!)- Rocky Top Tennessee-Rocky Top Tennessee-ee-ee!!—Thanks, Kari! That’s a perfect link! Yes, my little rescue Daisy is quite similar to those miniature bulldogs! Her ears however stand up before they tip over at the ends (very cute!) and her skin is not so loose on the body and legs. I guess she is a mix of a miniature bulldog and maybe a Boston terrier.

The filly BUENA VISTA (JPN) takes the Japan Cup (G1), the biggest race in Japan! High hoof to her!

@Diana S—I like that idea of a rescue ranch!Best regards to HOOT!

What joy and what sadness at the racetrack. I’m just trying to catch up and read on my Equibase that Irrefutable came in 2nd, “tied up” and was vanned off. I see from the posts that he is gone and I’m very saddened to read about the horses that gave their absolute all for our racing enjoyment. May they rest in peace and be running free with all the greats. May I ask, what does “tied up” mean? It really is a roller coaster ride for all the ups and downs. Super high highs and such low lows. Zenyatta, it does make us appreciate how you retired healthy and sound, thanks to the loving and expert caregiver and his employees, your John. For that I am so very thankful.
@Trina – so you kept the little rescue doggie. Yeahhhh!!! I’m currently filling out an application for my 5th rescue cat and may foster a German Shepherd with my own shepherd , Tessa. It will be quite a household of furry critters. If only I had a bigger piece of property, I would take on a rescue horse or two. We went up to Julian yesterday to enjoy cooler weather in the mountains and it was glorious. Saw the old “Golden Eagle Farms” with mostly empty paddocks/ pastures. The legacy of the Mabee’s appears to be over or very much downsized since they are both gone. It is such a beautiful thoroughbred horse ranch. The front entryway is really quite imposing. My Tessa loves a hike with her human Mom and Pop. She saw some horses and behaved beautifully for a city gal.
All racing tomorrow my hope and prayer is for all to come back safe and sound.

Zenny, I really hope RR’s connections have his best interests at heart and are not merely chasing records. The horse must always come first as your John suely understands. I can never thank him enough for having the angels surround you …keeping you always happy, healthy and safe.

@Kari Bussell/Good Ole Rocky Top(Whoo!)- Rocky Top Tennessee-Rocky Top Tennessee-ee-ee!!— I was just reading an update from my Equibase Virtual Stable about Larry Jones’s three-year-old gray filly Joyful Victory, and her name right away made me think of YOU—“JOYFUL VICTORY” should be your middle name!
@Delrene—It will be at least a month before little Daisy is all well and ready for placement, so I have time yet to see if I will be just her rescuer or her forever home.

Happy Thanksgiving to All!! It’s really a joy to have this website to come to when I have a chance.

@Trina Nagele: “Joyful Victory” a fitting description indeed of Kari, Trina. And a gray, which she particularly loves. Kudos to you for making the perfect connection.

Dear Judy B, are you okay? Please let us know, hugs Ingrid.
Congratulations, to Honor and Serve, and to Awesome Feather, I am so sorry I did not bet on both of you, because I think both of you are great, Ingrid.
