Good Morning to All!
I want to be sure and send a proper greeting to our dear SARAH on her recent birthday! Here she is holding Reagan, one of my special visitors, so I could meet her. Daily, Sarah does so many fabulous things for ME and for others that I did want to personally send her MY WARMISH WISHES for a truly wonderful year.
I heard that she celebrated with family on one night…and then friends (many of my Lane’s End pals) the next. CHEERS to you, SARAH!
I’d also like to send a HIGH HOOF to RAPID REDUX on his victory last evening at Mountaineer Park. 20 in a row is something very special! He and his connections must be so excited. I’m not sure what his future plans are…but I’m wishing him ALL THE BEST! I think his sire, Pleasantly Perfect, is rather honored by all of this as well. This is truly a significant achievement and such a proud moment for not only Rapid Redux but everyone who works with him each day! CONGRATULATIONS!
All else is going very well. I’m in the midst of relaxing a bit and TASTY and I are enjoying the seasons. The farm is so pretty and the grass is still rather lush. We are having a great time. I am eating properly and getting all the right rest and exercise. My days are just PERFECT!
I am truly one very fortunate horse!
Enjoy your day…and the pre-holiday ‘calm’…before everything gets so busy!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~ (Especially a big belated birthday hug to our SARAH!)

Happy belated birthday, Sarah. Thank you so much for helping us stay connected with Zenyatta through photos and all the extras you do. When you first started working with David Ingordo, you probably didn’t realize how much your extended family would grow. We all love that you love Zenyatta, too. And, thank you for sharing glimpses of Reagan with us.

BRAVO,RAPID REDUX! Winning 20 consecutive races is quite a feat whether claiming, allowance or stakes — ask any trainer.
We loved his sire, Pleasantly Perfect, who starred in “On the Muscle” — a must-see, fascinating documentary focused on Richard Mandella’s barn.

@Terry Crow- I join everyone else in extending my sincere condolences to you for your loss. I’m sure your friendship and loyalty gave Don great comfort. It is good to see you back posting, but please don’t feel you have to be “on” every time you come here. Just let the warm fuzzy spirit found in Zenyatta Land wrap around you to also give you comfort.

Trainer Ron McAnally still has the fire after all these years :-)

Quote: “Ron McAnally is much like the famous horse he once trained. Neither he nor John Henry would be considered the retiring types.”
“John Henry raced effectively through his ninth year, 1984. That was unheard of even back then and unthinkable now. He was horse of the year at age 9.”

GREAT READ!! HIGH HOOF, RONNIE!! XOXO

Regarding SARAH CAMPION — We must share what we heard while visiting Barn 55 last winter. Team Zenyatta was impressed with Sarah described as very competent, knowledgable, mature beyond her years (early twenties) and very well-connected in The Bluegrass. And, we might add, very lucky to have daily contact with The Queen. Rather a charmed life, I think most would agree.

Sarah, Happy Birthday to you! We are so greatful for all you do for Z and all of us fans. Your photos are beautiful, and I’ll never forget that adorable video of Z nuzzling you :) I hope this is a great year for you!
Congratulations to Rapid Redux and all of his people! He is beautiful and gives his all every time! High Hoof to you RR!
@Kennedys…I rented “On the Muscle” a few months ago on your recommendation and agree that it is a must-see. Fascinating and especially timely now that Pleasantly Perfect’s son has broken the record.

@JAG…it sounds like John Henry had the perfect trainer :)
@Terry Crow…LOL!!

Lady Z–there are those who want to minimize the achievement of Rapid Redux, but I say, THIS is a major accomplishment. No other horse has done what he’s done on American soil…not even you dear Z…and I for one hope he gets all the accolades & attention due him!
Happy Tuesday before Thanksgiving!

You are so warm hearted, dear Zenyatta. But please remember you will always be the fairest of all. KEEP HAPPY…HUGS….

Happy birthday, Sarah! You’re so classy, Zenyatta! It’s amazing that you, Pepper’s Pride, Rapid Redux, Cigar, Citation, and many others were capable of winning so many races in a row. Congrats to Rapid Redux and his sire, Pleasantly Perfect! My latest blog post is about Pleasantly Perfect, who of course lives at Lane’s End, too! Read about him here:

I really like the expression,”blue collar horse”. I think that is a good description for the horses that race here at Arapahoe Park. The season runs from late May through mid August and the horses seem to race multiple times during the racing session. They also have the high altitude, thin air to contend with. They seem to be very hardy equine athletes.
I add my congratulations to Rapid Redux.
Marty R / Colorado
@JAG- What a nice article about John Henry’s trainer. I now have another trainer and his horses to cheer on.
@Kris O- That’s wonderful news about your positive prognosis. Another Thanksgiving blessing.

Sarah, late birthday greetings and wishes for a happy healthy year! Thanks so much for your attention to our Queen Z – what a loving encounter in this photo.

You’re welcome and glad to have you back. Hugs, JB
Ingrid Arnone. South Beach.
My adorable Zenyatta, as always you look so sweet in all the photos, and happy birthday to Sarah.
Congratulations to Rapid Redux, you are a very good horse, I only wish you would run in the GI races this way we can really see how good you are…
To you my dear Zenyatta no matter who gets to 20 0r 30 wins, you will always be number ONE, love you forever Ingrid.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
@Sarah–Happy Birthday. You have our thanks for all you do for the Queen.
@Terry Crow–LOL!We all love and are thankful for YOU.
@Susan in TN–give Chester and Chopper kisses on the noses from me if you see this before getting busy.
@Kari Bussell–thank you so much. I’m already quaking in my boots thinking about our girls coming to Thompson-Boling(sp?) on Nov. 27. We wrote Pat Summitt a special card from fans here that will be given to her before the game. Our coach and Pat are great friends. (Pat was her coach on the gold-medal Olympic team in ’84)Wish we could meet there together. We’d be too busy hugging on one another to be rivals!
@Barbara Grimaldi—waaaaah! I wanna go to KHP in April too!
@All following Autumn’s story on the Horse and Man blog. She got to go home! She has a new adorable pink blanket. The bad news is that her vet/hospital bill is more than they thought, so anyone who feels led, donations would be appreciated. Prayers instead of donations if the former isn’t possible.
@ALL– I want to wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving. Even if it’s been a tough year and circumstances aren’t great, we can all be thankful for this year of friendship and family that we have shared. I think it’s a flat-out miracle. Unheard of in the world of racing and would be impossible without the internet.
We’re not going anywhere, so I’ll just be lurking around as usual.
Tatia
Happy Birthday to Sarah and Congratulations to Rapid Redux! A lovely day despite the rainy weather all around.
I have a question for Dottie, if you wouldn’t mind asking her for me Zenny – Is Sarah the lady who takes care of you and leads you to the paddock and back (etc.) every day? I ask because at the Breeder’s Cup this year, the lady sitting behind me (Barbara, I think was her name) lives right across the street from Lane’s End and her good friend is the lady who helps take care of you. Am I right? I hope so because it sounds like a wonderful job!
Peppermints and nose kisses to you. Big hugs and Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
Mary Copelin
JAG- Judy, thanks for the link to Dwyre’s column on Ron McAnally. I think he is a wonderful trainer. His words and the picture of JH brought tears to my eyes. I remember so well the first time I met Ron and John Henry. It was as if I were dreaming.
So glad you had a blast at the carosel.I knew it would be a wonderful, fun time. Mary

I have a maze I want to have posted as a game for kids on your site. It is to find the path to help Zenyatta make it to Horse of the year honors in 2010. A maze. Who can I send it to in order to get it posted? The site needs some kids games added, so I thought I would take a first step.
