Good Morning Everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful and restful weekend. Mine was terrific!
Dottie and I have been reading over your thoughtful comments in the DIARY responses! Thank you so much for the kind words, not just to ME…but to each other.
I totally agree with all of your comments about MY NEW HOME! LANE’S END is an absolutely beautiful farm with huge paddocks and lush surroundings. I am SO HAPPY here! Everyone is incredibly thoughtful of ME. I truly can’t thank them enough for the warmth and kindness shown to ME each day! Needless to say, TASTY and I are 2 very HAPPY HORSES!
I also love the fact that you are enjoying my new ZENYATTA SHOP! There are many more fun things to come in the future. I hope you enjoy them.
Many of you have asked about TASTY and I and if she is ‘protective of ME’. The answer is ABSOLUTELY YES. She is truly a very special and dear friend. She always wants to be sure that I am safe.
From what I can tell from the time I’ve lived at Lane’s End, we seem to have many more visitors to our paddock than the others. We have various writers and photographers here quite a bit, the charity visitors and their families come to see ME, TV crews are here, and then my own dear family frequently comes to Kentucky to see ME and catch up with how I am doing.
TASTY and I do hang out together ALL of the time. When MY JOHN entered the paddock on this particular afternoon, she came right over. She wanted to ‘check him out’. When I take a nap in the field, she normally stands right by ME to be sure I’m A-OK. In turn, I try to do the exact same thing for her. We just want to be sure that each of US has the opportunity to rest, relax, and enjoy our lives the best WE CAN! WE REALLY TRY TO BE THERE FOR EACH OTHER!
Here she is checking out MY JOHN. When he was hugging ME, she wanted to be sure all was terrific. I told her everything was perfect! During MY time at BARN 55, he’d hug ME like this every single day for 5 years. I explained to TASTY that MY JOHN is truly one of US….a dear, dear friend! He then hugged HER too….and she knew this was so true!
Happy Monday! I’m sharing a BIG HUG with all of you, too!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures with us. I know John misses you so much. You and Tasty are gorgeous and adorable. What a great relationship you have with her. I remember Tasty when she ran a few times at Santa Anita. Have a great time outside. Hug and kisses to you and Tasty.
Linda
Sharing all that love is truly amazing. Dottie & John – we all can learn so much from you and how much you care about Zenyatta and all your other horses. Thank you for everything you do.

I absolutely love this post!! Made my day!! I love photos of you and John! He truly loves you! Tasty sounds like the best friend anyone could ever have. I am so happy you look out for each other. You have a terrific team Zenny. I met all of them at your luncheon party at The Breeders’ Cup. I have never met such nice, down to earth, wonderful people. You are so blessed to have them and they to have you. Love you all!!!

Chester and Chopper: I haven’t said much about them because there’s almost nothing to say! They seem very content and look good, weight and health-wise. The children still help me every evening with feeding, cleaning up and grooming. I thought they might be bored by now, but they’re not. The horse boys are so patient! The horses from the rescue come over to the fence to visit frequently and the chickens, who are out in the afternoons, the kitten and their sweet dog visit with the horses, too. It is peaceful but not dull! I thank God daily for the wonderful family and farm where Chester and Chopper live now.

As I look at you and T T, I think of how cruel us “humans” can be sometimes, but horses are so WISE. I feel the love and compassion between the two of you. Bless you both! I hope you have healthy babies and continue to nurture each other ~ true friendship :-)

what a beautiful picture that is of John and you. I drove by the back side of Churchill Downs on Sunday after the cup and thought about seeing you out there last year! It was hard seeing you get beat for the first time but when I stopped by that next morning with about 50 other people I knew you were just fine.
Bridget
Z, you are becoming one big mamma! Hopefully you can get back in shape after you have your baby…remembering you all fit and trim. Have fun in your beautiful paddock! Love, B.

Oh Zen what beautiful pics of you, TT, and our John. What would we ever do without John and Dottie keeping your bond alive with all of us Zsters, I so enjoyed meeting them at your party and expressed those sentiments from all of us. Hugs to all of you!!
I just love these glimpses of you retired which prove beyond a doubt that you are a happy horse, living the good life at Lanes End. The only thing missing is your baby ZB and your life will be complete.

Hey Z!! You look amazing! I saw your lovely Dottie at the Breeder’s Cup but got too nervous to say hello! I was waiting with the other fans to congratulate Mikey and BAM! There was Dottie! Rosemary McCauley - Southern California
@Dawn Conrad – thank you for your answer to my question in the post before this one about Shari Voltz. Do you know how to contact her? I have something Zenyatta I would like to give to her and her classroom, unless they already have it.
Shanda Hooton

Hi Zenyatta, both you and Tasty look great with John, and it is so good that you have a very good friend. Hope to see you in May.
Linda in NJ
@Penny and Signofthetimes: Zenny’s tail does looks short in the second photo. Maybe the wind blew it around to the other side of her. It looks like it might have been a windy day.

Dear Zenyatta. Well, beautiful girl, my heart is just melting looking at the wonderful pictures of you, John and Tasty. What a blessing that you are surrounded by such love. I agree that Lane’s End is a very special place. Not only is it gorgeous, but everyone I have meant or spoken with has been very kind. When I visited with the great stallions, the grooms were patient and generous with their time. There were a couple of requests to see specific stallions from those in our group and it was no trouble, they took us to their stalls and brought them out, Rock Hard Ten was one. Of course your David and Sarah work there also, so how great is that. Thank you Dottie for keeping us so well informed. I hope you are having a wonderful time with John and Zenny in Lexington. Thank you again for your new shop, Zenny!! I will look forward to seeing the new items you come up with. I know you must have a million ideas! Sweet dreams. Hugs and kisses. XXXOOO

How relaxed and happy you and TT look. Of course, Your John looks pretty happy too. Any time you get to visit with the Queen is a happy day.

@JAG – Wishing you a smile my friend and sending a hug {{{ }}} your way, may you have a brighter day!
@Margaret – The video of Jag, the horse from the War Horse hat was so very beautiful. How sad that his life was cut short. Thank you for sharing.
@Cynthia/Where Zenyatta Danced – A nice hot cup of tea sounds so good on a snowy Colorado day such as this! Thank you for the invitation how I would love to make it to the Breeder’s Cup and get to spend some time with you and Abigail. It is amazing that you were actually in the stands at Belmont to see Secretariat’s immortal 31 lengths. I can’t imagine how that must have felt. One of those forever memories.
@Brenda S – Mother is doing very well. Thank you for asking! The picture you took that day with AP turned out great. It was so wonderful meeting you, Vic and Susan! I am looking forward to getting the new print next week, and then it off to the framers immediately so I can get it placed in the den.
@Peggy (N) – Hi, sis. Glad you enjoyed the Citation link, wasn’t it beautiful. How fun that you love Paula Deen also! I think she is wonderful. I watch her show, read her magazine and buy her books. I have been to Savannah a couple of times but unfortunately have not made it to the restaurant to eat. I have gone and shopped there, but each time the length of the lines were more than my time allowed. I enjoyed you story about John Henry very much. Unfortunately he had passed away just a few days prior to my visit at the Horse Park. There were still floral wreaths around his grave, it was very touching.
@LauraJ – I am so glad both your mother and father were part of the Honor Flight experience! Loved your post included all of the great horses, dogs, etc. that serve in the military and law enforcement. They are true heroes!! I always get a bit misty eyed when I watch the Westminster Dog Show and they honor some of these wonderful dogs along with those service dogs, such as seeing eye or companions to someone with special needs.
@Susan in TN – Now you have brought tears to my eyes. What an amazing story, it was lovely of you to share it with us. Choctaw holds a very special place in your heart as obviously you do in his. I wish I could have meant him while I was there. Never enough time!
@Shari – You are most welcome, sweet friend. Have a wonderful week!
@Sue Frederick – Hi, Sue. Thank you for your post. I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I was so sorry to hear that you lost your pictures of Lanes End. Glad your girlfriend will at least be able to send you some! I do have a few shots of AP, Curlin, Rock Hard Ten and some others if you need them just let me know.
@Judy Berube – Many blessings to you and Russ.
@LouAnn Cingel – Always thinking positive thoughts and sending prayers your way.
@Max – Really enjoyed the video of Tasty, what a beautiful girl she is. Love seeing her and Zenny together. The photo John took was amazing.
@Abigail – Thank you for the great video link on Havre De Grace! Sometimes it is downright disappointing not living in Lexington and missing out on these things. Geez! I hope you might be able to make Breeder’s Cup in Santa Anita too and take Cynthia up on the tea offer. Thank you for suggesting two more wonderful books and the link to a great Christmas present idea. The photo of Terlingua and friends was very beautiful.
@Trina – Once again really enjoyed your Horse and Man link. Hope and Autumn just break your heart!
@Barbara Wood – Hello my friend!! Hope everything is going well with you. The link and story about Autumn was wonderful. This delicate little soul has found an army of angels on earth to help her. What a blessing Bizzy and her owners are.
@Kari – Always in my heart and prayers.
All – I was reading my Oprah Magazine and came across a saying I had seen before that reminds me of what this site and all who participate exemplifie and what Zenyatta, Dottie, Team Z and their wonderful friendship demonstrates: “Give more than is expected, love more than seems wise, serve more than seems necessary and help more than is asked. Love to you all!
