Happy Tuesday DEAR FRIENDS!
I am still basking in the after glow of MY PARTY! You know how performers in Broadway Plays wait up for reviews after opening night…well, the same is true of ME in this situation. Something like this has never been done before in our sport, so we wanted to be sure all went extremely well! The overall consensus is that it was TERRIFIC! Yippee!
I’ve heard that ESPN discussed MY PARTY on National Television. Then the NY TIMES had a piece on MY PARTY as well. The link to that article is here so you may read it! It is all TOO CUTE!
Dottie mentioned that many of YOU took photos at the event. If you’d like to share them with the rest of us, please post them on your FACEBOOK pages and tag ZENYATTA. This will allow them to also appear in my photo gallery. I’d so love to see all of you again having FUN and TOTALLY ENJOYING YOURSELVES.
At the end of the day, all of this is meant to be one thing…FUN!
I know many of you commented to Dottie at the party that you really enjoy reading MY DIARY each day. Not only that but you share my various daily updates with your family and friends. Several of you also mentioned that you and your co-workers start each day in your office reading the DIARY updates. Thank you so much! This is all so special to ME!
Then along the way, another very special thing has happened with all of this! In some way, we have all become special friends and like one big family. The responses in the Diary comments are so dear and caring. Thank you for all of the kindness you share with ME and each other. As I said a few moments ago, this is all meant to be FUN!
Enjoy your day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Great to hear about the party!!!
For those of us who couldnt make it-it has been a long time since we saw a video or utube of Zenyatta.
It would be lovely to see her in the footage that was shown at the party or in a new live footage from Lane’s End.
Love Zenny and hope to see her soon, moving and being her wonderful self.
Love you Zenny!

@ EVERYONE who attended Z’s Party – Along with photos of the event being posted on FACEBOOK you can also post vides there if you have any to share.
Zenyatta has over 93,163 as of right now – Great Job everyone. Keep telling your friends and family to friend Zenyatta on Facebook so we can get her to over 100,000 fans before the next Horse of the Year is awarded.
Thanks to Dottie, Ann, Jerry, John and Mike for throwing a great party worthy of Zenyatta’s name.
I can’t wait to see pictures, videos and the goodies offered at your party… here’s hoping to a 2012 Breeder’s Cup Party at Santa Anita.

Good morning sweet Zenny, Dottie, baby ZeeBee & Zen-sters!
WOW Ms. Zenyatta! You are up VERY EARLY this morning, writing away in your Diary. Good for you! I kept a journal for many, many years and I have the absolutely BEST memories of getting up early to sit at my dining room table, with my cat curled up and basking in the morning sun. and a steaming mug of coffee to write in my journal. (As time went by, I kind of “evolved” into a keeper of art journals, where I can write and create “drafts” of art pieces to work on later.)
BUT there’s just no doubt that writing is a very POWERFUL way to connect people and build community. Zenny, did you know that in its early history, writing was thought to carry MAGICAL POWERS? The thinking was (and this is pretty universal) that when you write it, you bring whatever you are writing “into the world.” In the East, in countries like Korea, China & Japan, the belief is (still true today) that we are ALL ARTISTS and the first step to finding your ARTISTIC PATH is learning to write!
I’m talking about all this because it dawned me awhile ago that your DIARY and ZENYATTA.COM are also the SACRED face of WRITING. It’s through your diaries that we’ve become a community and long-distance friends…..and this diary also BRINGS WONDERFUL THINGS INTO THE WORLD WITH IT, each and every day. I just feel so honoured to be part of your community, Zenny.
Before I go, I must tell you what a GREAT photo this is of Sarah and Ann with “your likeness.” One thing that I love about the videos on your FB page is listening to Sarah’s laughter — and how you orchestrate it, big girl!!! LOVE TO ALL
Abigail from Montreal
PS YES! PLEASE share your party photos — it would be TOO MUCH FUN to see all of you in person!!!!!

Dear Zenyatta. Happy Tuesday to you!!!What a wonderful way to start the day with three of my favorite ladies!! It is lovely to see Sarah. Not only is she helping to take such good care of you, Zenny, she is always sharing you with all of us. We appreciate her so much!!!! I love seeing all the pictures of our wonderful Ann she is so very beautiful both inside and out. I am so glad that the party was an amazing experience for everyone. I will checking out all of the pictures posted on facebook. I do want to thank Dottie, John, Jerry, Ann and our Mike for everything. You are so right, Zenny, we have become a family of friends following all of your examples in generousity, kindness, love and support. It is all great fun and brings so much joy to our hearts! Wishing everyone a fabulous day. Sweet dreams, Zenny. Hugs and kisses. XXXOOO
@My Dear Canadian Friends – I join you in your heartache over the loss of the magnificent Hickstead. I love to watch the sport of show jumping and eventing. To see the sheer power of such athletic ability mixed with the subtle grace of the dance between the horse and the rider trusting each other to take flight and clear every obstacle is breathtaking. My condolences go out to all of the Canadian Equestrian Team and the connections of Hickstead, but most especially to Eric Lamaze who in one tragic moment lost his beloved partner and forever friend. RIP Hickstead.
@Evie S – Your tributes to Zenyatta were so very beautiful and meaning derived from the words uplifting and spiritual in their impact. Thank you for sharing your wonderful thoughts and the remarkable videos. I most definitely relate, it is a kinship that all of us who love Zenyatta share.
@Dallas from Texas – Thank you for sharing your impressions from Zenyatta’s celebration. I am so sorry that you suffered such a loss while you were away. My prayers and sincere condolences to you and your family.
@Peggy (N) – I’m with you sis, I am so glad that they are going to give Blind Luck lots of rest and care. Sounds like the Keenland sales are going very well indeed. I’m happy that you will get some time to watch them. As you noted, I am off on Friday as well, I can’t believe how often we are thinking the same things! Thanks for letting me know the sale will still be going on. Maybe I will get a chance to catch some more of it. I did watch for about two hours last night.
@Ann Maree – How lucky are you to attend Zenyatta’s party and then spend some time with Steve Haskin. I love his writing and I watch he and Lenny religiously on “And They’re Off”. I would love to meet him.
@PLEASE – I lite a candle for Kari Bussell and her family last night and my prayers are with them. If anyone can update us on what has happened, please do so. We all care very much!!

Dearest Zenyatta,
Your party was fabulous! Of course, YOU stole the show with the live feed from Lane’s End. You delighted us with your antics, showing us how you could gracefully take an entire carrot in your mouth at one time, and not dribble one crumb, and how you love bananas! You knew the camera was rolling when you nuzzled a tiny statue of yourself and then your playing with your “Zenyatta and foal” stuffed animal was too funny. Ann told me you loved stuffed animals! I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to talk to your beloved Team Z. No more gracious hosts with two legs could ever be found. To Ann and Jerry Moss, John and Dottie Sheriffs, and your dear Mike Smith – thank you for sharing the Queen of your hearts with us, thank you for you kindness and for a wonderful time to pay tribute to the great Zenyatta. Congratulations, dear Mike, for your incredibly exciting finish in the Classic!
Much love and thanks to all who put so much into the Zenyatta Celebration.
Sending an email kiss to your sweet nose, Queen Z!

Happy Tuesday back to you Zenny!!! Another stunning photo of you!!! Well your party was a HUGE success because after reading many of yesterday’s posts–everyone seemed to have a lot of FUN!! Sure wish I could have been there. I am hopeful as I look to next year. I am already scouting out hotels near the Santa Anita Park. Hi, Zenny! If I want to send Mr. and Mrs. Moss a card or a letter, to which address should I send it?
Brenda S..Ontario, Canada
What a nice surprise Zenny, a very early diary entry today, and a picture of Sarah with Ann. Sarah takes beautiful pictures of YOU but we don’t get to see her very often. She was so very kind when we saw her at LE when we delivered your goodies last July and how lucky she is to spend her days so close to you. Your family is absolutely awesome, they do so much for all of us, to just say “thank you” seems inadequate.
@ Abigail – I will certainly make sure that the colt gets a peppermint ( most of them do) and some petting.
@ Dawn – I am concerned about Kari so hopefully somebody can let us know how things are. Wish I knew how to light a candle, maybe Vic can teach me.
Pam Zacek,
Glad your party went so well, never thought any different you sure are the Queen of the Race tracks, i heard you mention, alot during, alot of the races, thats a plus, for me, The picture is almost to real, looks, so cute, alos, hugs for you and Baby, have a great day, and glad the party was such a sucess, there should be a whole movie about you , for sure,

Every minute spent with you and your diary posts are fun. So glad the event went well!

To all who are worried and concerned about Kari: I know that many of you feel comfortable revealing details of your personal life on the Diary, because you feel that you are amongst warm and caring friends, which you most certainly are. However, it is much more difficult to try to speak on behalf of someone else. Out of respect and deference to Kari’s family, I have been extremely hesitant to write, but being as someone already has, I feel that it is important that the facts be stated as they were to me, by someone who is at the center of her heart. (as my computer keeps blipping out the message, I will continue with another)

I had thought that there were no tears left to shed, but as I write, I find that there is apparently an endless supply. Kari was indeed involved in a very serious automobile accident while travelling out-of-town on October 10th. She was hospitalized for an extended period of time but, but I am told that she did recover from the effects of the accident, and was scheduled to be released around October 28th. I wish with all of my heart that I could provide the positive update for which you all yearn, but I have heard nothing since. I did not learn any of this until fairly recently, because evidently Kari’s notebooks containing vital contact information were lost.

Zenyatta,
You are larger than life Big Mama. :) Many thanks to the Moss’s, Dottie, and John for sharing Zenyatta with us. I look foward daily to see what’s going on in her life, in a way she is like a daughter to all of us. :) Can’t wait to see all of the party pics.

Please continue on as you have, praying for Kari and her family and sending the best thoughts which your mighty imaginations can muster her way. Set fire to the world with your candles, so that God Himself will be dazzled by their brightness, even in heaven.
Please know that if I receive any further news, I will post it here. Please, may others do the same. Love to you all.
