Good Morning EVERYONE!
Wow! What a weekend of FUN and GREAT RACING!
MY PARTY was a huge success! The KICK-OFF Portion is the part I attended…via the beauty of today’s marvelous technology. I also got to view all of the party goodies and the party favor seat cushions that everyone received as a gift for attending. I loved all of them! I hope you did too!
Then Ann, Jerry, my John, Dottie, and Mikie all were there to visit with the fans. I heard the food was terrific! They played my races and everyone visited and just ‘hung out’. Later, Mikie had to leave for the jockeys’ room (all riders have to check in so many hours before they ride…and I think they gave Mike a bit of a break as they knew he was at MY PARTY spending time with FANS). MY JOHN had to return to the barn to be with his horses. The rest stayed to visit and enjoy the fun.
CHICKEN GREASE played the music and they were absolutely terrific! All of this truly added to the pre-Breeders’ Cup race day fun!
The afternoon session also went very well! People were able to eat, relax, and enjoy the races in the Derby Cafe in the Museum.
Once the Ladies’ Classic was finished, the AFTER PARTY started. I heard this was really GREAT FUN! It was the perfect place to go after the races while the traffic was clearing out. MY JOHN, Mikie, and Dottie attended. I heard they signed tons of items for fans and posed for zillions of photos by my painting and the many posters of ME in the room. CHICKEN GREASE played and it was all very festive!
There is a new DRINK (adult beverage) named for ME called the ZENYATTA! People were enjoying this at the AFTER PARTY great food, and other tasty things. There were even M and M’s with MY NAME on them. Now all of this is TOO CUTE!
I hope you enjoy the LIFE-SIZE painting of ME that was also unveiled at MY PARTY. Above, you see Ann standing next to it. I truly believe the artist, Jaime Corum, did an amazing job on this piece. I AM REALLY ME! The reason for this is that it is done PRECISELY to my measurements…every single part of my body in this painting is exact. IT IS TRULY ME! While working on the project, Jaime would send emails to MY JOHN and they’d review it. Then when he was in Lexington for the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Keeneland mid-October, he drove to Louisville to her studio to review the final details with her. EVERYONE WANTED IT TO BE A PERPECT REPRESENTATION OF ME. I’m hearing that it will displayed at the BROWN HOTEL in Louisville for the balance of the Churchill race meet. If you have a moment, please stop by to see it. It is gorgeous….if I say so myself! (BLUSH, BLUSH!)
I’d like to personally thank everyone who attended MY PARTY and Leonard and Dottie for working so hard to ‘make it happen’. As with so many things in my life, ALL OF YOU have helped to MAKE THINGS BE SPECIAL, JOYFUL and FUN! I can’t THANK YOU ENOUGH! I hope in some small way, I HAVE MADE THINGS FUN AND SPECIAL FOR YOU, AS WELL!
With Love,
Hugs to All~(A HIGH-HOOF to all of the Breeders’ Cup winners…and a special HUG to GOLDIKOVA on an amazing career! I am so, so PROUD of HER!)
Z
PS… I’ve heard many of you took photos at the party. I can’t wait to see them. We’ll share more details on different things as the week progresses. Enjoy your day!
Sarah
That’s the most beautiful mural, I’ve ever seen. I only wish Mike was aboard..=D
Fran Doos
Oh wow, Z, wish I could have attended your party. It sounds as though everyone had a grand time! Maybe next year I can attend one of your parties-it is on my list of things to do! It is getting cold here now. We brought our Dozey home from the trainers a week ago. She seems to be thriving with Kate riding her almost every day. It is a wonderful barn and her stall is 12 x 24 which is very very nice for her! Have a great day Z!

I agree with Sarah.
Have to say though our girl looks absolutely incredible. I miss shouting out YATTA, YATTA at the races. I am happy though for this celebration of Zen and all of her (and the Sherriffs and Moss’s) contributions to the sport and all the philanthropic endeavors chosen. You guys ROCK!!! (I say that for Jerry!).

Oh, Zenny…my eyes are watery again after reading this post and seeing the portrait of YOU with Ann standing so proudly in front. You are our horse of the century…a once in a lifetime gift from the heavens. No wonder your John thought the painting was magnificient when he first saw it. Thanks everyone for the update on the sales price for Blind Luck….$2.5M…I missed seeing her enter the sales ring.
I have to agree with a lot of you, I’m surprised at the price. I think that was a deal. Time will tell.

Also have to say the depth of quality bloodlines and past performance (on the track and in the breeding shed) coming out of the complete dispersal of the horses owned by the estate of Edward P. Evans’ Spring Hill Farm is staggering.

@Uncle Mo~ Bless you beautiful boy! May you pass on all your talents to your offspring. You were a joy to follow!
Misty

Any chance of smaller prints being made of that absolutely gorgeous Jaime Corum portrait and becoming available for purchase by your adoring fans like me?

@JAG – I’m thinking there’s a lot more to your story with John Henry…how did you get so close to him?
Margaret
I can’t decide who’s prettier Zenyatta or Ann Moss. I think they are both so beautiful.
Z I’m so glad that your party was such a success. Wish I couldda been there but it just wasn’t to be. Perhaps next year…
That painting is SPECTACULAR! I’m sure others have said it more eloquently than I. That’s okay. Words just escape me.
I would love to have a print of this UTTERLY FANTASTIC SPECTACULAR painting. Jaime you did good. Better than good.
I’m looking forward to seeing profile pics of you. Ones that show your tummy.
Perhaps as time goes along we can discuss some kind of marestare option to watch when that time comes. Or at least see it post delivery…

Zenyatta what a beautiful life size painting of you, it looks exactly like you in every respect. Thank you so much for sharing the picture so Quickly. It sounds like your party was alot of fun from beginning to end, I am so happy for you. I would like to know what that Zenyatta drink was made of. That was a good idea and I bet almost everyone had one of those Zenyatta drinks. I was also glad that Mikie won the Breederes Cup Classic with Drosselmeyer. Mikie is a fun person and is always willing to help with charities for the horses and is willing to sighn autographs at the horse races. He is part of your wonderful team. Congradulations on your super party and Love to you and your entire team.
