Good Morning Everyone!
HOORAY! The 2 days of racing we have all been waiting for and planning on for the last several weeks…The World Championships…are now here! I truly want to wish all of the entrants and their connections ALL THE BEST! May this weekend of racing offer some of the most exciting moments in sports that we’ve enjoyed in quite some time! My Lane’s End pals are discussing their selections with us each day. Then TASTY and I add our thoughts after studying the DAILY RACING FORM and listening to the on-air handicappers. Hmmm, I wonder who will pick more winners: Matt, Sarah, David, Charles or ME???
Yesterday afternoon was SO MUCH FUN! MY TEAM came to visit ME. Everyone hugged and kissed ME Then they ‘checked out’ my BABY BUMP. MY JOHN looked ME over from head-to-tail. (I kept waiting for him to check my legs…just like he did for years at Barn 55.) The overall consensus was that I looked absolutely TOO CUTE! TASTY also joined in the fun and we had a wonderful afternoon.
Ann was so sweet! She and I cuddled for quite some time…and then she scratched ALL of my favorite spots. It was fabulous. I relaxed and truly enjoyed each moment! We talked about my party and all of the things going on in my life right now. It was truly like old times!
Later during the visit, I thought it would be fun to DO ANN’S HAIR for MY PARTY! She is such a good sport! I must say, this could be another career option for ME in the future.
As for MY PARTY, ALL of the festivities begin at 11:30 today. For those of you attending, please remember that the traffic patterns change on these busy World Championship Days. 4th Avenue is closed in certain spots as you get close to Churchill Downs, so please allow for this in your planning. The shuttle buses start running around 11:30 if you’d like to wait for them.
To enter the party, please go to the area by the BARBARO statue. You will see a sign by the doors of this building for the party. Please enter here. Your name, having ordered your tickets in advance, will be on a master list. Then go on in and have a GREAT TIME!
It has been such an amazing 12 months! Last November, I was at Churchill Downs preparing to run in the BREEDERS’ CUP CLASSIC! This year, I’m again SO FORTUNATE! I’m able to share in the festivities with my dear friends…just in a different role!
I’ll see you there…BABY BUMP and ALL! Oh, how I do love this modern day technology!
ENJOY!
Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

@Sandy–thanks for the input. I do pray this is the last of it for your knee. I’ll try to check on your progress from time to time.Hugs.
@Trina–I never cease to be amazed at your lovely poems and how much work they must take.
@all–I confess to having a hard time picking favorites in the races, because in many of them, I have more than 1. Actually, the dearest wish of my heart is that they all come home SAFE. I’ll have a knot in my stomach until they all do.

What a wonderful pic! You and Ann look so beautiful together! I’m so happy that your presence at the BC continues this year despite your retirement. You make it special and I’m sure your luncheon will be an event to remember. I do hope that pictures and videos will be shared with all of us who were unable to get to Kentucky. It would have been a great idea to have live feeds from several places around the country and even the world so that all of your fans could have shared in the luncheon, despite our remote locations. They do it for sporting events…why not for a Zenyatta luncheon, I say! Anyway, I know it will be wonderful, as are you! Happy day, Zenyatta, and the same to all of your peeps! Love you!

I wish I could be there for the party. Twelve months ago, I was privileged enough to be there to watch you run. My son and I were at Churchill Downs for your final gallop on Thursday and we were in the stands to watch your last glorious race. The outcome never mattered to us; watching you in person was all that counted. We miss watching your run but we are glad that we were part of the history you made. Good luck to all of the horses and riders. May everyone come home safely!

Zen, love this pic of you and your human mom. So cute, you can see the love you have for each other. Wish I was going to your party. Would love to meet you. Have wonderful time at your party.

Dear Zenyatta Oh you and Ann look so Beautiful. Thank you Dottie for posting for the ones who could not be there. I cried a lot but have my friend Dawn and the trip to Kentucky to look forward to. We are planning a trip for the summer. I watched your race from last year and showed the children. You were so amazing. How strong you ran. It will always be one of your Greatest Races because you never gave up and came back so strong. I love you sweet girl. Hugs and Kisses, Shari XXXOOO

Love the pic of you and Ann, Z! And echo all the thanks to Dottie for taking time from her life so that we may share in your life, your retirement, and your pregnancy. Can’t wait for the moment when Little Z’s take to the track….and for the moment when your adoring fans can come sneak a peek at you, even from afar. Until then, thanks for technology so that we can peep in on you and get great shots like these to warm our hearts. Let’s go pick some horses and have some fun! Safe riding and running to all.

@Karen Gogue—Thanks for that great link about John’s memories of Z. A quote from John: “Zenyatta had the ability to look at somebody, look at somebody right in the eye, like she wanted to make contact with them, which is really unique…I’ll always miss Zenyatta, but I’ll always appreciate the thrill we had with her.”

to all from Mo. ( searching for ESPN) but soon must pick up children from school, and I found this on computer. Not my computer so hope it comes through. A wonderful little video with our girl, Steve Haskins and a young man whose name I didn’t get. Enjoy and if it didn’t work, I think it’s in the Breeders Cup website. http://thebreederscupclassic.com/blog/e-train-visiting-zenyatta
