Good Morning Everyone!
HOORAY! The 2 days of racing we have all been waiting for and planning on for the last several weeks…The World Championships…are now here! I truly want to wish all of the entrants and their connections ALL THE BEST! May this weekend of racing offer some of the most exciting moments in sports that we’ve enjoyed in quite some time! My Lane’s End pals are discussing their selections with us each day. Then TASTY and I add our thoughts after studying the DAILY RACING FORM and listening to the on-air handicappers. Hmmm, I wonder who will pick more winners: Matt, Sarah, David, Charles or ME???
Yesterday afternoon was SO MUCH FUN! MY TEAM came to visit ME. Everyone hugged and kissed ME Then they ‘checked out’ my BABY BUMP. MY JOHN looked ME over from head-to-tail. (I kept waiting for him to check my legs…just like he did for years at Barn 55.) The overall consensus was that I looked absolutely TOO CUTE! TASTY also joined in the fun and we had a wonderful afternoon.
Ann was so sweet! She and I cuddled for quite some time…and then she scratched ALL of my favorite spots. It was fabulous. I relaxed and truly enjoyed each moment! We talked about my party and all of the things going on in my life right now. It was truly like old times!
Later during the visit, I thought it would be fun to DO ANN’S HAIR for MY PARTY! She is such a good sport! I must say, this could be another career option for ME in the future.
As for MY PARTY, ALL of the festivities begin at 11:30 today. For those of you attending, please remember that the traffic patterns change on these busy World Championship Days. 4th Avenue is closed in certain spots as you get close to Churchill Downs, so please allow for this in your planning. The shuttle buses start running around 11:30 if you’d like to wait for them.
To enter the party, please go to the area by the BARBARO statue. You will see a sign by the doors of this building for the party. Please enter here. Your name, having ordered your tickets in advance, will be on a master list. Then go on in and have a GREAT TIME!
It has been such an amazing 12 months! Last November, I was at Churchill Downs preparing to run in the BREEDERS’ CUP CLASSIC! This year, I’m again SO FORTUNATE! I’m able to share in the festivities with my dear friends…just in a different role!
I’ll see you there…BABY BUMP and ALL! Oh, how I do love this modern day technology!
ENJOY!
Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

Dear Zenny,
YOUR MIKE rode a superb BCC 2011 with a win on Drosselmeyer a very talented colt that is a lot of work to ride. Jerry Bailey commented on YOUR MIKE’s weight and workout preparation
to really get Drosselmeyer moving. Lazy horses are very tough to ride. GOOD THING YOU WERE EASY, just push the button and explode and a WIN for you. They say in a very talented field that the trip and the jockey really make the win and YOUR MIKE had a great stragegy, come on the outside of game on dude and he did not even see Drosselmeyer coming. HALL OF FAME MOVE
if ever and now he is tied with JERRY BAILEY for 15 BC wins.
Congradulations MIKE SMITH FOR A VERY TRICKY and CRAFTY STRATEGIC ride. Hope your party went well and Ann really showed of her Zenyatta hairdo. That could be another career.
Look forward to SA 2012 and another party????

The Breeders Cup Store had two lovely sets of 3 glasses for purchase with a donation to the V foundation.
They are 3 of Goldikova’s wins and Zenyatta two wins and HOY.
Very lovely and a good price. Limited to 500 each set of 3.

@Ingrid
Zenny ran at the back of the pack with lots of dirt in her face that she did not like and she could not see. Nothing to do with MIKE SMITH and his ability. Very bad trip for the Queen. She really did not care much for the Churchill Track. Lots of trainers saying the track was very different this past week end. Maybe an excuse, but MO could not handle it too much for him. So You Think made a great effort for never having been on dirt.

Really Love the Article from NY times about Zenny’s party and there will be one next year at SA 2012. When do tickets go on sale???

DEAREST ZENYATTA
I HOPE YOUR PARTY WAS FAB…NOT BEING ABLE TO GET TO CHURCH HILL DOWNS WE ENJOYED THE BREEDERS CUP AT SANTA ANITA THIS YEAR…THEY SHOWED EVERY BREEDERS CUP RACE, AS WE KNEW THEY WOULD. MIKE SMITH WAS SO EXCITED TO WIN THE CLASSIC THIS YEAR…BUT HE IS STILL SAD HE DIDN’T GET YOU THERE LAST YEAR.
THEY SURE USE YOUR RACES IN A LOT OF COMMERCIALS WHERE RACING IS INVOLVED…NO ONE WILL EVER FORGET
“THE GREAT ZENYATTA” I AM GLAD YOU ARE HAPPY BEING A MOMMY…I AM A MOMMY TOO…BUT THE MAGIC YOU BROUGHT TO THE TRACK IS NOT THERE ANYMORE, THE TWO WEEKENDS WE SPENT AT SANTA ANITA THIS YEAR WAS SO DIFFERENT…QUIET…EVEN DURING THE BREEDERS CUP EVENT…WE ALL MISS YOU.
ZENYATTA I LOVE YOU

Have enjoyed checking in periodically while watching 3 grandchildren in Mo. Fly home tomorrow. Saw some of the races, and all were exciting. The party was so amazing. What memories you must all carry with you forever. And to hear Lisa sing the Zenyatta song? Did that occur. it always brings tears. She captures all the thrills and excitement of your races so perfectly in verse and the music. Hope everyone has a safe trip home. I will definitely be at BC 2012. And the painting, oh my amazing. Such a great tribute from a wonderful artist.

Hi Zenyatta. Wow, thanx to all for all of the wonderful videos of Zenyatta, her team, the great visit by The Mig and of her party. It must have been awesome. Hubbie and I will be there next year for her party when it is held at Santa Anita. Congrats to Mikey; Hansen is a magnificent looking champion, and prayers are with A.U. Miner. Love to all. Zenyatta, stay comfy, eat well for two and enjoy TT and all of your friends. Love you, Angel.

This is such an inspiring picture. It also gives an idea of how big Zenyatta really is. Her head appears to be about a third of the total size of Mrs. Moss.
The races were exciting. I chose some to cheer for with my head, but most were with my heart. I chose one winner each day. There were definitely some surprises and absolutely some feel good stories. I expect there are some question marks, too with owners and trainers trying to figure out how to go forward with some of the horses.
It would definitely be interesting to know why some of the horses were pulled out of the sale. Just wondering, can someone make a private offer to buy a horse without going through the bidding process?
I guess now the two big expectations coming up are, when will E start racing and when will baby Z/B be born. @Margaret- I’m so glad to know we can really be seeing a baby bump now, cause boy, our girl has truly expanded. (I’m hoping for a filly. I’m also hoping for a full brother to Zenyatta.)
Hope everyone has a good week coming up.
AJ from CA
I am really missing Blind Luck who didn’t race well in her last race so her owners were supposedly going to sell her? She is a real class act horse who really deserves the best after all the thrills she gave everyone.

@signofthetimes–thanks for the great link to the Z party report.
I believe our Judy had a day off to spend with her sister today. Hope they had a marvelous time. She had someone to look after Russ.
Prayers for A.U. Miner. When then surgery is announced, could someone post it here? For some reason, I’ve been having trouble accessing the Bloodhorse site.
