Good Morning Everyone!
HOORAY! The 2 days of racing we have all been waiting for and planning on for the last several weeks…The World Championships…are now here! I truly want to wish all of the entrants and their connections ALL THE BEST! May this weekend of racing offer some of the most exciting moments in sports that we’ve enjoyed in quite some time! My Lane’s End pals are discussing their selections with us each day. Then TASTY and I add our thoughts after studying the DAILY RACING FORM and listening to the on-air handicappers. Hmmm, I wonder who will pick more winners: Matt, Sarah, David, Charles or ME???
Yesterday afternoon was SO MUCH FUN! MY TEAM came to visit ME. Everyone hugged and kissed ME Then they ‘checked out’ my BABY BUMP. MY JOHN looked ME over from head-to-tail. (I kept waiting for him to check my legs…just like he did for years at Barn 55.) The overall consensus was that I looked absolutely TOO CUTE! TASTY also joined in the fun and we had a wonderful afternoon.
Ann was so sweet! She and I cuddled for quite some time…and then she scratched ALL of my favorite spots. It was fabulous. I relaxed and truly enjoyed each moment! We talked about my party and all of the things going on in my life right now. It was truly like old times!
Later during the visit, I thought it would be fun to DO ANN’S HAIR for MY PARTY! She is such a good sport! I must say, this could be another career option for ME in the future.
As for MY PARTY, ALL of the festivities begin at 11:30 today. For those of you attending, please remember that the traffic patterns change on these busy World Championship Days. 4th Avenue is closed in certain spots as you get close to Churchill Downs, so please allow for this in your planning. The shuttle buses start running around 11:30 if you’d like to wait for them.
To enter the party, please go to the area by the BARBARO statue. You will see a sign by the doors of this building for the party. Please enter here. Your name, having ordered your tickets in advance, will be on a master list. Then go on in and have a GREAT TIME!
It has been such an amazing 12 months! Last November, I was at Churchill Downs preparing to run in the BREEDERS’ CUP CLASSIC! This year, I’m again SO FORTUNATE! I’m able to share in the festivities with my dear friends…just in a different role!
I’ll see you there…BABY BUMP and ALL! Oh, how I do love this modern day technology!
ENJOY!
Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

Good morning, Zenny! I hear your party was lovely! High hoof! Ann Maree posted great photos of it on your fb page (thanks, Ann Maree!), and JAG linked to a great photo of your Mikie (thanks, JAG!). It’s raining in So Cal, and our Dumpling gathering at the LA Zoo carousel has been postponed, date TBA. More later.

A Birthday Poem for Kelly ^-^ from Allentown, PA
(November 6)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For Kelly in Allentown
Our Queen Z
Will always be
The miracle mare
Of renown
Who alone deserves to wear
Thoroughbred racing’s crown.
Her wish, if it could be,
Would take her back
In time
Our Z to see
Once again tearing down
Any track.
That sight always made
Kelly’s heart quiver like jelly!
But lacking that,
This weekend I’m sure
Our dear Kelly
Set time aside
To watch on the telly
As the best jockeys did ride
This year’s finest horses
On dirt and turf courses
To the crowd’s cheers.
I hope she made at least one good bet
Like that trifecta
On her birthday last year
That she’ll not soon forget!
And for our dear Kelly
New excitement this year
Is to be found
In watching Z’s belly
Slowly expand
And get ever more round.
She finds it grand
That we’ll likely see
A little ZB
On the ground
When March comes around!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KELLY!
Does anyone have any information regarding the new Zenyatta painting being available for sale as a Poster or Print?
Gloria Jeanne - The O.C.
I’m still looking I tried ebay and amazon so far no such luck…. I really want one for my collection. Sounds like the party was a lot of fun. I sure hope they bring it to Santa Anita’s Breeder’s cup in 2012.
Ann Marie is so cool – she is always posting great news on Zenyatta’s Facebook page… if you are not a friend or don’t check out the site on a regular basis you are missing out…
Check it out and make sure to friend Zenyatta’s FaceBook Page.
I hope everyone had a great time at the party.
Too bad about the rainy day – I would like to go to the Zoo with everyone once a new date has been picked… please post here.
Thanks and Happy Sunday.
Checking in with Zenyatta — priceless!! Hearing John speak about her – very moving. Thanks for the link, JAG. Hope to see everyone at Santa Anita, 2012!
Well here we are,the day after Breeders Cup.Was so dissapointed Goldacova didn’t score,but she has had such a brilliant carreer. Gio Ponte didn’t fare so well either and as for Havre De Grace my heart went out to her.There were a few 1sts though father trainer & jockey son. The older trainer 1st Cup win. To bad Chantel Southerland got beat outof the classic but our guy Mikey did well. Am happy all came out well “no spills and our favorite horses are healthy. As for your party all went well and a good time was had by all, and you look fab. Take care my lovely lots of hugs,kisses,and of course LOVE
@Gloria Jeanne & @Especially Horses – When I first saw the video of Jaime Corum’s painting of Zenyatta (http://www.whas11.com/video/yahoo-video/Angie-gets-an-up-close-look-at–132919293.html), underneath there was a note that smaller prints would be available at the museum and also at zenyatta.com — but when I checked the video link of Jaime later and again today, the note was gone. So I’m guessing we’ll have to wait and see if it’s announced here. Maybe they will have to print more.
Hi Zenny. You and Ann love each other so much. You look so comforting in her hug. Hope your part went well. I can`t wait to see your painting. The Breeders Cup is now over. You were spoken about on bothe days. Well,this year your Mikey did it. Yes, He won The Classic on Drosselmeyer.. He was very proud but still talked about you.. No one can come near how much you are missed in the racing world.. By the way, you look simply stunning in the photo with Ann. Love you alot, Alene xxoo :-)
@Gloria Jeanne, Especially Horses, Vicki B and Everyone – I contacted the Kentucky Derby Museum yesterday concerning the new Zenyatta print. The museum shop is not going to carry the prints for sale, they simply had them available over the Breeder’s Cup weekend as part of the Zenyatta festivities and Jamie Corum signing event. They did speak to Leonard Lusky who helped Dottie with the Zenyatta party (he was the gentleman interviewed on the link I provided) and gave me a call back to let me know that he stated the prints will be announced for sale sometime next week on this site. Yippee!! Hope that helps. I really want to thank the ladies at the museum for being so helpful in getting me this information. And a huge shout out and THANK YOU to Leonard for everything he has done to help Dotte and Team Z make the her Breeder’s Cup celebration such a success!!!! Although I was not blessed to be there personally, I think it is absolutely wonderful that such an event was planned in honor of our Zenny and from everything I am reading and hearing, it was great fun and a memorable experence for all! In case you do not know Leonard Lusky specializes in equine related marketing and is not only involved with Zenyatta, but is the man behind secretariat.com and derbylegends.com. In addition, he represents some very famous clients including Penny Chenery, Ron Turcotte, Steve Cauthen and others. I think Leonard just has to be an honorable Dumpling for all of the efforts he is making to keep the legends of horse racing alive and well!!!!!!!
@Dawn and All: Thank you for confirming what I vaguely remember reading – that the prints and posters would be available here. Keep in mind that it will take a couple of days for all of JOHN’s horses and gear, and him and DOTTIE to get back to SoCal from Churchill, so any posting about posters :-) will be a couple of days too, probably.
Congratulations to Mike Smith for tying the record with his 15th Breeders Cup win. Maybe he will be riding “E” next year, when gets #16. Zenyatta, I hope you have more parties as I sure would like to attend one of them. Sending peppermints your way. Love the window in your stall.
There was no ZENYATTA in this cup’s win but there was MIKE SMITH. I know it was mixed emotions for him with this win but the QUEEN will be happy for him. It is with great dignity that ROYALTY moves on to bigger and better things. Like being the mother of a horse of the FUTURE.
@ Jenna,
@ Kimberly P,
@ Margie,
Thank you, I think the secret for winning is, you have to be faithful to the horses and jockeys that you loved, I also bet on Hansen $2.00 only but I won, my mistake was I forgot to play the pick 4, the paid out was so big that I start crying, well maybe next time, hugs Ingrid.
Just catching up, looks like I missed a lot of excitement. Way to go Mike! I need to do some reading to understand the Tao of our sage horse. Interesting.
Gloria Jeanne - The O.C.
Thank you Dawn- That helps. Now I don’t have to keep checking everyone second on every minute trying to find the poster for sael… that helps.
Zenny, YOUR JOHN loves you so! Watching the video of him speaking of you is beautiful.
I’m thinking of you this weekend, Zenny! I’m so happy that Mike won yesterday. He surely deserves the rewards for his talent and special relationship with every horse he rides. Yet, you stand out above them all. And you always will.
Hope you are having a quiet, restful Sunday Zenny after all the excitement of the last two days. Did you and Tasty pick all the winners? I am so happy for Roger Attfield getting his first Breeders win with Perfect Shirl and for YOUR MIKEY and his big win on Drosselmeyer. Today seems so quiet, no races, just laundry and other boring stuff that has been ignored for two days. Sorry to hear that the CA Dumplings have had to postpone their trip to the zoo, we’ll have something to look forward to when they do get to go.
@Dawn Conrad – Thanks for finding out about the print.
