Good Morning Everyone!
HOORAY! The 2 days of racing we have all been waiting for and planning on for the last several weeks…The World Championships…are now here! I truly want to wish all of the entrants and their connections ALL THE BEST! May this weekend of racing offer some of the most exciting moments in sports that we’ve enjoyed in quite some time! My Lane’s End pals are discussing their selections with us each day. Then TASTY and I add our thoughts after studying the DAILY RACING FORM and listening to the on-air handicappers. Hmmm, I wonder who will pick more winners: Matt, Sarah, David, Charles or ME???
Yesterday afternoon was SO MUCH FUN! MY TEAM came to visit ME. Everyone hugged and kissed ME Then they ‘checked out’ my BABY BUMP. MY JOHN looked ME over from head-to-tail. (I kept waiting for him to check my legs…just like he did for years at Barn 55.) The overall consensus was that I looked absolutely TOO CUTE! TASTY also joined in the fun and we had a wonderful afternoon.
Ann was so sweet! She and I cuddled for quite some time…and then she scratched ALL of my favorite spots. It was fabulous. I relaxed and truly enjoyed each moment! We talked about my party and all of the things going on in my life right now. It was truly like old times!
Later during the visit, I thought it would be fun to DO ANN’S HAIR for MY PARTY! She is such a good sport! I must say, this could be another career option for ME in the future.
As for MY PARTY, ALL of the festivities begin at 11:30 today. For those of you attending, please remember that the traffic patterns change on these busy World Championship Days. 4th Avenue is closed in certain spots as you get close to Churchill Downs, so please allow for this in your planning. The shuttle buses start running around 11:30 if you’d like to wait for them.
To enter the party, please go to the area by the BARBARO statue. You will see a sign by the doors of this building for the party. Please enter here. Your name, having ordered your tickets in advance, will be on a master list. Then go on in and have a GREAT TIME!
It has been such an amazing 12 months! Last November, I was at Churchill Downs preparing to run in the BREEDERS’ CUP CLASSIC! This year, I’m again SO FORTUNATE! I’m able to share in the festivities with my dear friends…just in a different role!
I’ll see you there…BABY BUMP and ALL! Oh, how I do love this modern day technology!
ENJOY!
Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

Goldikova and the 2011 BC Mile
Zenny’s running style conserved her energy to the last few furlongs over a long distance. Goldi had to run full out with a burst of speed at the end, to be champion of the Mile, and she did it so well for many years. So very glad she did not face off with Frankel. She is a true champion that have the US a wonderful show for her last three years at the BC.

@Signofthetimes,Thank you so much for the articles on weaning foals.
@Anyone who knows. Does anyone know how late the sales will go tomorrow at Keeneland? I hope they go late. I get home about 445. I know Blind Luck is suppose to be 210A for tomorrow. I know last time I went to the Fla sale they went pretty late. Hope, I get home in time to see some of it.
Love Ya Zenny

@Barbara Wood, i too had trouble getting on bloodhorse last night and today, But I got into it tonight fine. Was tring to see if there was anything for today from A.U.Miner. Didn’t see anything. Looked real fast, but guess it will be a little later.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
@Peggy (N)– I was able to get on tonight too. Nothing new on the upcoming surgery. I was wondering how in the world they were able to van him to Lexington in the shape he was in. Maybe they have a sling or something? I’m clueless about vet procedures.
Good night, precious Z–just more reminders of how thankful we are that you were able to retire healthy.
Love you always.

Just a little more info. Couldn’t remember his name earlier, but I saw it in print today. It is Prince Saud bin Khaled who died earlier this year and who owned Royal Delta and her mom. His horses will be dispersed at Keeneland.
Goodnight Zenny and All.
Cate
Hope this is something that you do every year !

What a beautiful pic of you and your Ann. Was at your luncheon Friday and the painting was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, absolutely breathtaking.
I pulled for Wrote, Hanson and Droselmeyer, great races. Now on to Santa Anita next year.

Trina Nagele in So Cal – Thank you so much for that wonderful poem. Just got to work this morning & you made my day. You are so thoughtful & so very creative! Love it. Too bad I didn’t get lucky this year. No trifecta. I was hoping Havre de Grace would win. Thanks again for the awesome poem. Have a great Day! ^-^

Dear Z and Z Fans:
Happy Monday. Hope all is well with all of you. Love you, Judy and Russ

Good Morning Sweet Girl!
When I found out Mikey was the jockey on Dresselmyer, I just had to bet them to win! I was at a party & everyone was so excited that I had played the long shot…then I told them why & they totally understood & what a GREAT strategy. I just knew that Mikey was not going to let his opportunity go by again.
As I watched the post-race interviews, amidst his exhilaration for his win this year, I thought what a tribute to you Zen, when he expressed how painful that loss was for the two of you last year. I am so thrilled that Mikey came back & won this year & I bet in some way he did this for you too! So glad that there were no major accidents or injuries. Now, hoping that John, Dottie, The Mosses & all of the horses get back to CA safely!
Have a great week
XOXO
Sandy
@Linda – I’m echoing many of the other responses but wanted to add my own thanks for your description of the party
@Ann Maree – thanks for the beautiful photos on Zenny’s Facebook page – your photo of the portrait gives the best overall perspective that I’ve seen (even the live TV shot from the Louisville station wasn’t as good)
To all: Have I got this right? Those of us in “the east” who couldn’t make it to the party this year are just plain out of luck because next year it will be at Santa Anita?

@Barbaro, @suew, thank you! Love this site, so much good information. BTW, I thought I read somewhere that there was a new painting of Zenny strutting her stuff unveiled at the BC party at CD. Does anyone have a link to it? I can’t find it. TIA if anyone has it. And here’s a nice vid I came across of her before the 09 Classic: http://goo.gl/HkblB

@Valerie, click the link to Zenyatta’s Facebook page and then the link for photos. It’s in the second group of photos – great picture.

@Sandy–I’m told by people who live on the east coast that it’s actuall cheaper to fly coast-to-coast than the middle of the country. I’m stuck here in the middle, so it’s about equi-distant to each coast.

My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, What a wonderful and sweet photo of you & Ann. Zenyatta, you look so beautiful, happy & content. Zenyatta, I look back over the year to the last BC and I still stand in awe of you and all your accomplishments in your racing career and in your life. You have given so much to so many. Zenyatta, I will always love you for insight you gave me in your race that was life changing for me. I will forever be grateful. Zenyatta, I love you and I believe you will be the best Mom ever to your amazing little baby Z. I may have missed reading your posts and I am trying to catch up but I always think of you each day and hoping all is well. Sending love from Alabama, Amanda

Absolutely fantastic seeing Mike win the Breeders Cup Classic. It must have been tough after last year’s, but man oh man, this was the best outcome this year for an amazing man. Great going Mike Smith !!

Zenyatta, you were very rightly excited about these races and the Churchill Downs party. I wish I could have been there. I’m sure you had a nice visit with all of your friends who came out to Lane’s End Farm to see you. I wish all of your horse buddies luck.
