Good Morning,
I remember this TREE so well. It’s located on the grass area just outside the Churchill Downs’ barn where I stayed during the 2010 Breeders’ Cup. Cheers to my BARN 55 pals, FRANK and HARMONIOUS! There they are out enjoying the sunshine together this morning. MY JOHN thought they each looked so relaxed and happy. He also got a kick out of the sign and wanted ME to share it with you.
The Kentucky weather is really quite lovely right now and the future forecasts all look to be very encouraging…clear, sunny, and temperatures ranging from the mid 60’s into the 70’s over the weekend. A bit of rain is forecast for Thursday….so I’m sure ‘paddock schooling today’ for all of the participants will be very active.
My Lane’s End buddies have commented that many of the horses appear to be training forwardly and looking strong each morning. RACE DAY is getting close!
In reading your Diary comments and responses, I’ve noticed so many of you are really enthused about MY PARTY! Thank you! I must say, I can’t wait!
The film crews are being organized so I can attend the event and be right there with ALL of you! Leonard is sending Dottie various other party details so she can share them in my Diary during the next few days. This is so much FUN! A party like this has never been done before, thus, this thought really adds to the anticipation. You know ME…I love being FIRST….but I must say, what truly makes it even more SPECIAL…is I can share this activity with ALL OF YOU!
Yippee, I just heard that members of MY TEAM are coming to visit ME tomorrow afternoon. They were last here in mid-September! I’m sure they’ll think my ‘baby bump’ is progressing splendidly. I also have such a fabulous GLOW about ME. This mom-to-be ‘track’ (no pun intended) I’m now enjoying in my life is truly agreeing with ME….if I say so myself! (Blush, Blush!)
In between all of these other activities, I’m doing my handicapping! There are so many great races to review…and I want to be sure to study every single detail. One thing I’ve definitely noticed, MY BERNIE is well represented with his progeny in this year’s WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. He has some very solid opportunities for his offspring to perform CLASSICALLY! HOOVES CROSSED!
Have a glorious day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Dear Zenyatta,
I haven’t posted for a long time because sitting at my computer is difficult following knee replacement surgery (the second one on the same knee). I’ve tried to keep up with your posts although I know I’ve missed some, but just can’t sit long enough to read the comments, and I really miss hearing what all the Z fans have to say. However, I just HAD to write today to wish you and all of your fans an absolutely WONDERFUL time at your party tomorrow. How I wish I could be there too. Maybe you will do it again sometime. Love from your Ohio friend, Sandy

@Sandy–boy, do I know how you feel! I couldn’t sit at the computer for a month following mine in March. I guess by now you know the (unpleasant) routine. Praying for you.
@JAG–thanks for the mustang link.
@Party Dumplings–please express to Dottie and the Mosses our appreciation for all they have done. I know it will be first rate. Someone please take pictures and post with names. Inquiring Dumplings want to know!
Sandy
@Barbara Wood – thanks! Let’s just say that NOW I “get it” re why people love their laptops :-) This has just been unending – had the first surgery Aug 31 of last year and the second on July 25 of this year so I’m really impressed that it took you only a month to be able to sit at a computer! Revisions are even more difficult than first ones, but . . I’m hopeful that eventually things will work out.

Zenyatta needs more Facebook Fans – getting close to 93,000 help her out. It’s my goal to get her to 100,000 fans before the next Horse Of The Year awards. If you have not joined yet, please do – and tell your friends so they can tell a friend and so on.
Thanks

Zenny, I hope To Honor and Serve wins the BCC because he’s Bernie’s boy. And, I hope your John has major success too with his two horses. We sure miss you but are anxious for reports from all the party gowers!

@Karen G. and others who posted the recipe for the Zenyatta cocktail. I wish I could be at the party tomorrow, but will be thinking about Zenyatta and Team Z all day and hopefully when I get home I will have something special recorded.
I got my DUMPLING tag yesterday! What a special group to be a part of.
The 2011 BC is going to be memorable with so many top notch trainers and equine athletes competing, but nothing will ever match the years that Zenyatta competed in them. But we will get to see her there this year live via video. Hopefully, it will be repeated next year and we will get to see her at the 2012 BC. I was very sad last year after the 2010 BC but not because of the outcome of the Classic, but because I knew we would not be seeing the Great One dance and perform for us any longer, that this would be her last race, and to watch the reception she received from everyone in attendance, the collective gasps and comments of “Look how big she is” or “Isn’t she beautiful” when she first came into view and with that ever present aura that surrounds her. When she ran her last Santa Margarita, March 13, 2010, we were standing right on the paddock fence waiting for the horses to come from the saddling area. A small child behind me of around 4 or 5 (I didn’t turn around so I don’t know if it was a boy or a girl) said “Daddy, where is SHE?” The child’s father answered “She’s getting dressed for the race.” The child responded, “Well, how long does it take her?” That child wanted to see the Queen and wanted to see her right now. That will be something he/she will remember 20 or 30 years from now. What a special gift Zenyatta has been to all of us. I’m so thankful we have this forum to keep her with us. I am so grateful to the Mosses and to Dottie and all of Team Z for allowing us access to her.

@ Maddy-I watched the Thanks to Team Z video last night—boy, did the tears rain down!!!
@ Trina,Kimberly and Barbara-Casey’s Mom came into the store where I work today and was very touched that folks had already responded to her message sent through me. I think she was going home to sign in and check out the site. She is such a lovely lady. She does not do a lot on the computer but I predict that she will be so captivated by what she reads here that she will become a Dumpling!
To all Dumplings at home–even though we will not be in KY tomorrow,we will all be united,in spirit. The next two days will be so exciting—ENJOY,ENJOY,ENJOY!!!! Love to all!!!!!

On my late break, it’s hard to work, knowing all the fun happening tomorrow! I’m taking Friday off, so I will be glued to the TV set or online. Say hello to Zenny for me (and the rest of us who can’t be there to see her in all her gorgeousness at Lane’s End).
@To all members of the redneck club, wherever you are: You might be a redneck if you have spray painted your girlfriend’s name on an overpass. You might be a redneck if you have flowers planted in a bathroom fixture in your front yard. You might be a redneck if you think the stock market has a fence around it. You might be a redneck if you even get tipsy on the children’s adaptation of “The Zenyatta”.
