HERE I AM WITH THE MOSS'...AT THE LOS ANGELES ZOO! PHOTO FROM THEIR PERSONAL ALBUM

Good Morning,

Now, this is TOO CUTE! Here I am as one of the rides on the newly created childrens’ carousel at the Los Angeles Zoo.

Thursday, my dear owners attended the Zoo’s Press Conference to unveil the TOM MANKIEWICZ CONSERVATION CAROUSEL. The Moss’ were quite instrumental in the development of this project and it was with great joy that they attended yesterday’s event. Not only did they love seeing US…GIACOMO, TIAGO, ME, and the many other beautifully crafted animals…but they also wanted to honor their dear friend, TOM, for all of his hard work in helping to make this happen.

This carousel was truly meant to be something very special for all children and their families who visit the L. A. ZOO.

I’ve heard many of our “Z DUMPLINGS” are planning a trip there soon. Please keep us posted with the updates on your adventure!

As for other news, my pal, COZI ROSIE, had her final workout yesterday for the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf Race. She breezed 7 furlongs in a nice and relaxed 1:27 and change. She will ‘walk today’ as part of her training routine. This is a very normal practice as most horses do have a very easy day of activity following a day they have just run or worked. During the next 2 days, her barn will get her ready to leave for Kentucky. ROSIE is on the Sunday morning Tex Sutton flight. The plane leaves very early in the morning…and even with the time change, she will be at Churchill Downs and settled comfortably into her stall by early afternoon.

Other horses, per the DAILY RACING FORM, are completing their final works during the next few days as well. YEAH! 7 days and counting. I’ll keep you posted on all of the news I hear as it develops!

As for ME, today I have Claire Novak coming from ESPN. I also have visitors coming from the V FOUNDATION. Then a reporter and TV crew from a local channel will be coming out to do a piece on ME. So, I have a rather busy, yet FUN FILLED, schedule today. I must say….I do enjoy all of this activity!

Good luck to all of the horses running around the country this weekend! There should be some very good handicapping opportunities!

I also want to send a HIGH HOOF to RAPID REDUX. 19 in a row! I can truly say…THAT IS ONE HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT! My heartfelt congratulations to this special horse and his connections!

Just thinking, next FRIDAY is MY PARTY! It’s getting close!

    Hi Zenny: What a great post today. Too cool!! You look spectacular on the carousel. And Giacomo, too!! Zenny I have to tell you I consider myself one of the “Z Dumplings” even though I am from NJ. I sure hope the rest of the Z Dumplings have a wonderful time at the LA Zoo this weekend. I will be there in spirit. Now Zenny I also have to say, I am not able to attend your party this year at the BC because I just had surgery. But I sure do hope that You and Mr. & Mrs. Moss will consider holding another Zenyatta party next year at the BC in SA. I am already planning and looking forward to that trip. Take care Zenny we all love you!!

    @Linda in NJ—OF COURSE you are a Z-Dumpling! Dumplinghood is in no way restricted to the West Coast– it is not only national but international! Anyone who loves Z is already a Z Dumpling. We are all so glad you’re home from the hospital and can recuperate from your hip revision in peace and quiet of your home. Hope all goes well, and we are looking forward to a HUGE convention of Z-sters at SA next year!

    Todays’ redneck jokes (in honor of gypsy Terry C.): What’s the difference between a Yankee zoo and a Redneck zoo? At a Yankee zoo, on the cage it will have the name of the animal as well as its scientific, Latin name. A Southern zoo will have the name of the animal and a recipe.

    Giacomo news! Magali Farms told Sharla that they are going to ask all visitors who come to see him to make a donation to The Second Race. So you are not the only Moss dumpling helping to raise money for charity, Zenny!

    YOUR MIKE is doing an autograph session at Santa Anita tomorrow before the races (several other jockeys will be there too!) Our (TSR) booth will be right next door … we will be selling photos of YOU and other favorite horses like Rachel, Tiznow, Secretariat and more to raise money for the horses. I’ve been labeling photos and postcards all afternoon! :)

    @Linda T., the luncheon is before the first race at Churchill, and also the luncheon includes a ticket to the BC races for the first 500 people, so you should have one. If you don’t, come see me. I’ll have my dumpling tag on. I had already purchased a seat for Friday as well as Saturday. (Or you can email me at lauraj_45205@yahoo.com.) Let me know if you do or don’t need it.

    L.A. Times today: Mace Siegel, “a godfather of Southern California horse racing for his role as an advocate for the sport”, died. “His compassion for the horses, horseman and fans was second to none.” His best-known horse was Declan’s Moon, Eclipse Award champion 2-year-old. Siegel also founded Thoroughbred Owners Against Drugs to press for equine drug testing and other measures to ensure a fairer playing field.     Diana S. ~ I think it would help if we could find someone that actually saw Omaha’s burial. In one article I read on line, it said that Omaha was encased, so lots of different stories. I think the Knights of Aksarben or the Trust Management may have names of people involved.

    As to commentary regarding use of whipe and Lasix I am definitely against the whip or at the very least limited (with strict rules and enforcement with meaningful consequnces) I did not like seing it used on Shackelford during his Kentucky Derby race and I wrote a complaint to Bloodhorse. I don’t know enough about Lasix but no drugs would be my mantra.

    @Linda in NJ– welcome home from the hospital! You are amazing to be back online so soon. After my knee replacement, I couldn’t even face the computer for a month, and I’m a diehard Dumpling!

    @Vivki B–LOL! I love all the redneck jokes and share them with my water aerobics class.
    @Delrene–agree with you completely about the whips. I remember Jerry Bailey saying he didn’t think they made the horses run any faster. And RA did seem different after the Woodward. Our John is against the ban of Lasix, but I have to admit to agreeing with you here on that. I love Shackleford too!
