Good Morning,
Now, this is TOO CUTE! Here I am as one of the rides on the newly created childrens’ carousel at the Los Angeles Zoo.
Thursday, my dear owners attended the Zoo’s Press Conference to unveil the TOM MANKIEWICZ CONSERVATION CAROUSEL. The Moss’ were quite instrumental in the development of this project and it was with great joy that they attended yesterday’s event. Not only did they love seeing US…GIACOMO, TIAGO, ME, and the many other beautifully crafted animals…but they also wanted to honor their dear friend, TOM, for all of his hard work in helping to make this happen.
This carousel was truly meant to be something very special for all children and their families who visit the L. A. ZOO.
I’ve heard many of our “Z DUMPLINGS” are planning a trip there soon. Please keep us posted with the updates on your adventure!
As for other news, my pal, COZI ROSIE, had her final workout yesterday for the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf Race. She breezed 7 furlongs in a nice and relaxed 1:27 and change. She will ‘walk today’ as part of her training routine. This is a very normal practice as most horses do have a very easy day of activity following a day they have just run or worked. During the next 2 days, her barn will get her ready to leave for Kentucky. ROSIE is on the Sunday morning Tex Sutton flight. The plane leaves very early in the morning…and even with the time change, she will be at Churchill Downs and settled comfortably into her stall by early afternoon.
Other horses, per the DAILY RACING FORM, are completing their final works during the next few days as well. YEAH! 7 days and counting. I’ll keep you posted on all of the news I hear as it develops!
As for ME, today I have Claire Novak coming from ESPN. I also have visitors coming from the V FOUNDATION. Then a reporter and TV crew from a local channel will be coming out to do a piece on ME. So, I have a rather busy, yet FUN FILLED, schedule today. I must say….I do enjoy all of this activity!
Good luck to all of the horses running around the country this weekend! There should be some very good handicapping opportunities!
I also want to send a HIGH HOOF to RAPID REDUX. 19 in a row! I can truly say…THAT IS ONE HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT! My heartfelt congratulations to this special horse and his connections!
Just thinking, next FRIDAY is MY PARTY! It’s getting close!
With Love,
Hugs to All~ (Have a great weekend!)

I just got a reply from the other artist, quote: “Oh, that is funny! I know she would be schooling those “little girls”, even pregnant. I will see what I can draw up.”
:-) TOO CUTE!

Dear Zeny! I congratulate Rapid Redux too on that 19th win. You and your entire family will never forget that wonderful feeling of accomplishment. As many would say – Only in their Dreams. That is why you are one of the greatest if not the greatest! Hugs, Marilu

I just love seeing the smiles on your owners faces, Z! It always brings a smile to me, too! What a wonderful honor to Tom. It will bring so much happiness to all the children (and adults) who will be riding the carousel.
Congrats to Rapid Redux on his accomplishment!
Looking forward to seeing Cozi Rosie and ALL the great equines!
Zenny, sounds like you are having a very busy schedule so have fun and enjoy! Thanks again, Dottie and everyone who make this site a HAPPY place to visit!!!
Next time I come visit CA, the LA Zoo will be on my list, too. Haven’t been there since being a little girl..oh gosh, that’s toooo many moons ago!

Once again the Mosses have out done themselves – the photo of Jerry is priceless! Looks like he’d like to jump on his Giacomo and go round and round and….And isn’t Ann just TOO CUTE!? What a beauty she is! Such a ‘too cute’ couple. How lucky we are as Z Dumplings to have them in our lives….

Thank You Mr & Mrs Moss for your generous gift of the carousel. It is beautiful. I am in training myself, today I worked out at 50 feet on a firm pavement. I need to shave at least 10 seconds off my time by next Sunday if I am to win the Z Dumpling Carousel Horse Sprint. I know I can beat those other dumplings to be the first of us to ride you my Queen. Can adults ride the carousel? Ha! kids beware that day, there will be a dumpling stampede. All right Zenyatta, I know what I must say now, in true good natured Zenyatta spirit, it would be only fair to nominate JAG as the first ‘dockey’ (dumpling jockey) to ride you, since JAG is organizing the day, it seems like the right thing to do. I’ll make a run for Tiago. I wonder if the Stewards will be present and DQ us if we keep switching animals and not getting off the carousel. Ha! yes I see the headline too, Zoo Security called to remove stubborn dockeys from new carousel. Kids heard crying ‘No Fair’ for miles around. Off to polish my goggles. Oh, I saw the lovely Cozi Rosie yesterday and gave her a good luck carrot from us all, organic of course.

Awww… Cute Photos!
It is so cool to see two of my favorite things combined: Zenyatta and a carousel!
I probably won’t be making the trek to L.A. on Nov 6th (but I will try to make the trip someday soon) and I know I won’t be able to get to Zen’s party at the BC, but I hope everyone involved in those plans has a great time!
I will be watching the BC from home.
Here’a a prayer for safe, safe trips for all the horses running their races.
Big hugs and a kiss on the nose from Ellen

LOL! LOL! Every time I read your postings I can “hear” your voice – TOO FUNNY! :-)))) I don’t mind US making the “headlines” as long as Queen Zen gets her usual Star Billing! :-P

Dear Z–thank you so much for sharing this great picture! I love the idea of Dumpling jockeys! Too cute!
@terri z– you have really come up with an idea. The thought of the adventures of Zenny and Tasty is just TOO intriguing. A GREAT children’s (of all ages–wink, wink!) book.
Safe trips to all this weekend.

Oh, I can’t wait until my schedule settles down and I have a chance to visit the Zoo to see YOU (and Giacomo and Tiago) on the carousel! I notice that you are in the outside row of the carousel — are you a stander or a leaper? Standers are usually the more elaborate, beautiful figures on a carousel but the leapers are more FUN to ride! You do look a little short in the picture but if you are a leaper, they might have caught you in the “down” position instead of “up” like Giacomo is. Can you tell I’m a bit of a carousel geek? :)
I often wondered if you would enjoy the quiet, laid-back pace of the farm as much as you did Barn 55 but it sounds like you are just as busy as ever! I’m glad that you have lots of visitors to keep you on your toes … a lady should always have a steady stream of callers if she wants to keep up her place in High Society!

Zenyatta at Breeder’s Cup
Question; Is the event on TV ?
Please make a DVD of the event for fans to see later?
Thank you,

I too can’t wait to visit the carousel at the L.A. Zoo – here’s an article from yesterday’s Daily News about it and the Mosses: http://www.dailynews.com/ci_19202676?IADID=Search-www.dailynews.com-www.dailynews.com

Zenny how lucky you are to have owners that not only love HORSES but PEOPLE too!! What a wonderful way to remember a friend which will live on for a long time.
@Maureen in Santa Barbara I sent you an email, thank you so much for sending the pics of the Indy kid.
@JSmith your description of the battle to ride the Z Carousel was hilarious, LOL!
@All of you researching Omaha thank you very much for the links, very interesting, it would be great if they found them and sent them to Old Friends, or the Kentucky horse park.
This adventure concocted by some of our posters is also hilarious, it would sure make a cute comic book, for kids and adults….Z’S CAPERS.
Luv you Z and kisses on your nose

That carousel is adorable…and even more special with Z on there. The Moss’ look so happy ….what a lovely couple….can see the kindness in their faces that is in their hearts. Yes…a busy and exciting time in racing…with missing you…it still gives comfort knowing you are retired, happy, and safe. Hugs to you Z…what a busy schedule you have…wow you will need some rest in your stall. :)
Peppermint
What a cute photo of the carousel and what a creative way to honor Tom.
Congratulations to Rapid Redux-quite an accomplishment as you well know, Zenny.
We just got home yesterday from our trip to Kentucky and Florida. Unfortunately didn’t get to stay overnight in Lexington as we had planned but had a lovely day at the Kentucky Horse Park and got a really neat book about Old Friends. Can’t wait to read it! But first all the snow and broken branches from the storm in Colorado that we missed must be dealt with. What a mess!
Good Luck to all who are racing this weekend and looking forward to the Breeders Cup races next weekend.

My thanks to Happy Harriet for relying my message. My computer is pretty messed up and I am sending this from a Kinko’s. I am somewhat of a gypsy right now and will let all know when I am setttled. Will not be doing any posting until then.

Oh my gosh, this carousel is beyond TOO CUTE!!!!!! It is absolutely adorable. What a wonderful tribute to Tom M. Thank you so much for posting these pictures. Made me smile ear to ear. Can’t wait to see the articles on Zenny.

Hello Pretty Girl! I absolutely love the photos of the Moss’ and love you as one of the carousel horses! You are so very loved Zenyatta! I love you!
Allen
Love the pictures of the carousel, Ann and Jerry are always thinking of ways to honor there Queen. Everyone needs to check out the article in Throughbred Times, it is what would happen if Zenyatta and Havre de Grace could race each other. They figured out what all of us already knew, Zenyatta would win! See Z, you are still winning races one year after retirement. Have a great weekend Queen Z.
Trisha
Aahhhh! How wonderful is that and how wonderful are the Mosses? Love to you and them as well.
Well if you can’t have the real thing ( that would be you oh gorgeous one) I guess riding your likness on a carosel is the next best thing.
Have a great weekend and bundle up tight. Brrrrrrrrr!
Love hugs and kisses
