Video by Michelle Jensen. Watch it here.
Good Morning,
I hope you are all doing well…and your week is off to a splendid beginning!
In our thoroughbred world, the pre-entries were taken yesterday for the World Championship Racing Days which take place this year on November 4th and 5th at Churchill Downs. Next year, they will be at Santa Anita again in California. (I remember it ALL so well!)
Tomorrow the fields for each specific race will be announced. Then…let the handicapping and analysis begin.
My Moss pal, COZI ROSIE, is preparing for the Filly and Mare Turf. This race will take place late Friday afternoon. (The same day as MY PARTY!) Cozi is currently training at Hollywood Park and will take a flight this weekend to Churchill Downs.
I must say, the horse transportation crews have the schedules so well-organized. Their flight plans and times are very specific as they must be sure all of the horses planning to participate in these races from around the world are able to get to Churchill Downs on time. It is one of the many things that takes place ‘behind the scenes’…so to speak…but must be done perfectly for the benefit of all the competing horses and their staffs.
My Barn 55 friends are also preparing at Hollywood Park and will fly to Kentucky later this weekend. My dear friend and personal masseuse for years, Michelle, took the above video of MR. COMMONS while on the track during his morning exercise. Jacqueline is riding!
MEMORIES, MEMORIES! I can’t imagine how many times I went around that oval at Hollywood Park while training during my career! It is SO GREAT to see it again!
Here’s wishing you a wonderful day,
With love,
Hugs to All~

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday we had a high temperature of 80 degrees, tonight it’s predicted we will have 3 to 6 inches of snow and the same tomorrow. @ Barbara Wood- you had your Colorado vacation just in time.
@ Happy Harriet- thank you for the reply to my question about the barns at Churchill Downs that were damaged in the tornado. That indeed is good news.
Because of the change in weather, it was too cold to be outide so I spent a lot of pleasant time today looking at the links provided by the Zenyatta family. Thanks to all.

@Kathleen Kimber KC Mo- To get Chester and Chopper… on your Facebook Page, on the lefthand side above your name it will say Face Book in chubby blue letters. To the right of that is a long, narrow horizontal white space that says Search. Type Chester and Friends in there and when it comes on, click and you will have their page.

Good evening Zenyatta,

Hey Zenyatta: I saw Mr. Commons at the Preakness and at your Barn 55 this past summer. I wish him a lot of luck. I am really looking forward to the Breeder’s Cup. Love you.
Vicki B.
@Sue Fredrick – Wisconsin – Terry’s gone missing (or “on walkabout”) for about a week… So we’re concerned, some are guessing either his friend Don has been very ill, or something else happened. We just hope he’s ok, and lets us know, when he’s able to come back.

Well is my face red, too big a hurry. @Kathleen Kimber KC MO- The “chubby blue letters” are really white letters in a blue background. Just cannot trust this senior memory.

@Sue Fredrick: “Dumpling Queen”? That is so not me in so many ways! That title has got to go to JAG, or Kari, or SOMEBODY! But thanks – – – I think.

Dear Zenny,
Sweet dreams tonight. So very glad that you brought all of us together to share in racing and all things equine. You have taught us how precious the TB and all horses are to humans. You have showed us what horses can share with us because of your wonderful equine intuition. Thanks so much to Dottie for giving you a human voice. Have a restful night. XXXXXOOOOO

Wonderful video and entry, as usual! Looking back over the amazing journey, it will be very different not to see you in the BC. Those were the best days (nerve racking, yes, but amazing!). Love to Z and Team Zenyatta

My evil twin Diana S. LOL!
I believe the title goes to Queen Z – OUR Dumpling Queen. No one else deserves that title, as she IS the dough of the Dumplings – Queen Zenyatta!
Karen (not scratching my head!) P.S.
Although my are a Princess in my heart for all that you have done, here and on the other site for horses – AND FOR MAKING THE Z DUMPLING TAGS!!
