Training at Hollywood Park.

Good Morning,

I hope you are all doing well…and your week is off to a splendid beginning!

In our thoroughbred world, the pre-entries were taken yesterday for the World Championship Racing Days which take place this year on November 4th and 5th at Churchill Downs. Next year, they will be at Santa Anita again in California. (I remember it ALL so well!)

Tomorrow the fields for each specific race will be announced. Then…let the handicapping and analysis begin.

My Moss pal, COZI ROSIE, is preparing for the Filly and Mare Turf. This race will take place late Friday afternoon. (The same day as MY PARTY!) Cozi is currently training at Hollywood Park and will take a flight this weekend to Churchill Downs.

I must say, the horse transportation crews have the schedules so well-organized. Their flight plans and times are very specific as they must be sure all of the horses planning to participate in these races from around the world are able to get to Churchill Downs on time. It is one of the many things that takes place ‘behind the scenes’…so to speak…but must be done perfectly for the benefit of all the competing horses and their staffs.

My Barn 55 friends are also preparing at Hollywood Park and will fly to Kentucky later this weekend. My dear friend and personal masseuse for years, Michelle, took the above video of MR. COMMONS while on the track during his morning exercise. Jacqueline is riding!

MEMORIES, MEMORIES! I can’t imagine how many times I went around that oval at Hollywood Park while training during my career! It is SO GREAT to see it again!

    I can’t wait for the Breeder’s Cup to be at Santa Anita again! I was fortunate to be there when you beat the boys! You hit that magnificent “passing gear” right in front of where I was sitting. It was a thrill of a lifetime!

    Bummer about Tizway. Darn! I’m sure he’ll be ok but that’s the end of this racing career. He was so talented and except for the fact the I’m a super MO fan, I thought Tizway might pull off the BCClassic.

    “Bond said Tizway will remain at Belmont for about a week until being sent to Spendthrift Farm in Lexington. Spendthrift bought the breeding rights to Tizway from owner William Clifton Jr. in a deal that was announced in August. The BC Classic was going to be his final race, win or lose.”

    Hi Zenny, lots of excitment right now with everyone getting ready for BC weekend. I wish all the horses entered a safe trip and GOOD LUCK in the race they are they compete in. Love you Zenyatta, wish you were running in a race but I think you are happy knowing that you are carrying your foal. I know that you will always think about racing with all of your big accomplishments and I hope you will always want to dance as only you can do. Love you Zen and be happy.

    Hi sweet Z; I’ll be able to watch Cozy Rosie on Friday! This is great! I’ve gotten my car ready to roll. Your party is getting closer!!     @all in CA; You have been so fortunate to have had Zenyatta there during her racing career. I have enjoyed your comments. I have put a lot of miles on my car chasing after Zenyatta, but not as far as CA!
