Good Morning,
Yesterday’s post…thank you for all of your loving comments!
A few days ago, I had some very special visitors. The man on the left is Don Robinson. I was foaled and raised at his farm, Winter Quarter, in Lexington, Kentucky…not too far from where I live now. He has come to visit ME several times during my racing career and since I’ve returned to Kentucky. I know him very well!
The gentleman on the right, scratching one of my favorite spots, is my breeder, Eric
Kronfeld. Wow! It was so great to see both of them. Eric followed MY racing career very closely and constantly stayed in touch with what was going on in MY LIFE with MY TEAM.
Both of these gentlemen touched my life in a very special way. In reality, if it wasn’t for my breeder planning the mating that he did for my MOM, Vertigineaux, to Street Cry, I wouldn’t be here.
Then when I was foaled, Don, was right there. He made sure that everything went well for ME while I was growing up as a young foal and yearling.
It is interesting to note that MY breeder is also the gentleman who bred and owns my baby sister, EBLOUISSANTE. Don foaled and raised her as well! So HOOVES CROSSED for all of these members of ‘MY FAMILY’ as ‘E’ embarks on her racing career at BARN 55.
LIFE IS SO INTERESTING! When one reflects upon certain things that happen in his/her life, the timing of certain decisions being made seems to play such an instrumental role in what happens in life….probably much more than one can say.
It was really so great to see ERIC and DON again! These are truly 2 very important people in MY LIFE! I can’t THANK THEM enough for the very early decisions they made…which had such an impact on ME becoming ME!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

I love you Zenyatta. Every day I read your Diary Posts. I will be in Kentucky November 9th through the 13th. I wish I could come see you. But even if I can’t I will always have you in my heart. You always bring a smile to me when I think about you.

We should all be grateful to those whose planning resulted in giving the racing world YOU.

Hello my Favorite Queen Z..
That is so cool that your breeder is visiting you.. And now in a few months you will be having your own baby.. Its great to see you doing so well.. I am at home with an AirCast on my foot.. I look like I am wearing a Ski Boot.. I twisted my ankle a week ago this past Monday.. last friday I had tightness in my foot which made it hard to walk and went to Urgent Care.. I was told I tore my Achilles Tendon.. I went to a Foot Specialist and yep I tore my Achilles Tendon and Partial Ruptured it. Luckily its not completely torn.. I do have to go in on Tuesday and find out if I have to have surgery to repair it..

@JAG….when is Ebby making her racing debut?
JAG / California :-)
p.s. I wrote this earlier today:
“FYI we will be there to SUPPORT her. If anyone puts pressure on her to be another YOU is unfair! Let Ebby be Ebby…”
It occured to me that someone might think I was referring to Barn 55! NO!! I’m referring to the racing fans! Zenny has big horse shoes to fill ;-)

I don’t have the answer to when Ebby will race… we will have to wait and read about it on Z’s diary. Unless The Kennedys have news… they seem to have all the latest scoops! :-)

We will be watching for your baby sister’s debut. How appropriate she will reside with John and Dottie at Barn 55. Love to you beautiful girl!

Dear Zenny,
So good to see your breeder Eric Kronfeld he has held the most important back seat in your life as you have pointed out. And now he has “E” to follow in you and your mom’s footsteps from a pedigree perspective. So love Don Robinson, he is also very special to you. Look forward to “E” first race, of course timed well by YOUR JOHN. Have a great day in the KY blue grass and with TT.
Don’t forget to wear your sweater.

Hi Zenyatta! I hope you are adjusting to this crazy weather here in the bluegrass. As Breeder’s Cup nears I can only remember what a great thrill you gave this Ky girl. Your pictures grace my walls along with several other greats. But you are the dearest to my heart. For even in your smallest defeat you were the most victorious in my mind. I look at your kind eyes everyday and thank God I was able to witness your greatness. Love, Beverly…..

I agree – Ebby should be Ebby – She will be the horse she grows up to be. It would be a shame to expect her to be Zenny – She may be close – maybe better maybe not. But she will still be loved and watched.

@JAG / California, Interesting they are going to run So You Think on dirt! I also
like this horse very much. I hope they bring him over here early to gallop and work on the Churchill surface. Some horses don’t like that surface much until they get used to it. I am so looking forward to Goldikova going for #4.

@Alex Bowdoin
So You Thinks Connections have said that he is not running as well as they thought he would in Europe and his style may lend itself to dirt. How awesome, there will
be an exciting BCC 2011.

@JAG. Oh, ok. It kind of sounded like you were planning the LA Zoo outing to avoid the “known” date. I’m anxiously awaiting her debut and will be sooooo disappointed if it happens on a day when I am out of town.

As I was reading todays entries, I realized how much comfort your bring to us, Zenyatta. Bless all of the sick, lonely and out of work. Visiting this Diary every day is like getting a big, group hug. Dottie, thank you so much for creating this space and with such a caring tone.

Dearest Zenyatta,
Don and Eric certainly knew what they were doing–you turned out perfectly! :) So glad you get to visit with them on occasions. In everyone’s life there are always decisions and choices and people who shape our future without us even knowing it. Isn’t it geat that you had so many special people guiding you along the way? How lucky you are, dear girl, to be so loved.
Hope you’re keeping yourself and Baby Z/B snug and warm and safe!
Happy Thursday with love,
Stel
