Good Morning,
Yesterday’s post…thank you for all of your loving comments!
A few days ago, I had some very special visitors. The man on the left is Don Robinson. I was foaled and raised at his farm, Winter Quarter, in Lexington, Kentucky…not too far from where I live now. He has come to visit ME several times during my racing career and since I’ve returned to Kentucky. I know him very well!
The gentleman on the right, scratching one of my favorite spots, is my breeder, Eric
Kronfeld. Wow! It was so great to see both of them. Eric followed MY racing career very closely and constantly stayed in touch with what was going on in MY LIFE with MY TEAM.
Both of these gentlemen touched my life in a very special way. In reality, if it wasn’t for my breeder planning the mating that he did for my MOM, Vertigineaux, to Street Cry, I wouldn’t be here.
Then when I was foaled, Don, was right there. He made sure that everything went well for ME while I was growing up as a young foal and yearling.
It is interesting to note that MY breeder is also the gentleman who bred and owns my baby sister, EBLOUISSANTE. Don foaled and raised her as well! So HOOVES CROSSED for all of these members of ‘MY FAMILY’ as ‘E’ embarks on her racing career at BARN 55.
LIFE IS SO INTERESTING! When one reflects upon certain things that happen in his/her life, the timing of certain decisions being made seems to play such an instrumental role in what happens in life….probably much more than one can say.
It was really so great to see ERIC and DON again! These are truly 2 very important people in MY LIFE! I can’t THANK THEM enough for the very early decisions they made…which had such an impact on ME becoming ME!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Hi Zenny!

Germaine
Calm has returned to Tranquility Farm this evening. It is a crisp, clear night and I can still hear some of the retired geldings trotting happily away in the darkness, savoring the mountain air. Walking through the barns and paddocks there is everywhere the familiar comfort of horses munching their evening hay. The phone has finally stopped ringing. The tears have dried. Zenyatta has lost, or so they think.
If you love Thoroughbred horses you go through life hoping that you can see just one more in whose presence the clouds fall away to reveal the mountaintop. It can take a generation or infinitely longer for such a horse to arrive, a horse that is capable of carrying the human heart. For the last one hundred years we know them all by name, but Zenyatta brought to us a beauty that was a tonic for the soul. She allowed us to believe in the impossible, and it was the light of her being as much as the thrill of her races that got us dancing. Zenyatta was transformative.
And what do we take away from this? In the year ahead there will be thousands of young horses who will come away from racing and they will not be legends. Many will be injured, most will be unwanted, and unless we who love the Thoroughbred act in concert for their protection, there will be no storybook ending.
To join together to insure that retiring Thoroughbreds everywhere can have a future could be the final and perhaps the greatest legacy of America’s love affair with Zenyatta. She showed the world without question that Thoroughbreds have great depth of feeling and a true affection for humankind. She proved beyond measure that horses are worthy of our respect. It is impossible not to believe that because of her there are young people all across this country waiting with open arms to bring one of these marvelous creatures into their lives. It is our duty to make that connection.
If we can rise up, and we can rally, and we can be fearless in overcoming the tremendous obstacles to achieving this goal, then we can perhaps be worthy of the marvelous gift that Zenyatta was to all who saw and loved her. We owe it to her, but of course she is a horse, and it was all for free.

Hi Queen Zen!
~~~~~~~~
The Local Chapter of Z Dumplings are arranging a “Zenny Day at the L.A. Zoo” :-) Of course, this cannot conflict with the races at our local race tracks ~ especially when Big Ebby makes HER debut!! FYI we will be there to SUPPORT her. If anyone puts pressure on her to be another YOU is unfair! Let Ebby be Ebby…
Kisses ‘n Hugs to Big Mamma Z and Baby B/Z XOXOXOXO
Germaine/Priscilla so beautifuly written, and inspiring. Even if a person can only spare 10 mins a week, that’s still enough time to write a letter, send an email, to support the after care of TB’s/slow down breeding/halt the slaughter pipeline. I’m sure someone will post the web address of EquiArmy NDO below, which has a list of things u can do to help, however limited your time. For all the countless hours of joy Zenyatta still brings, for free, as Priscilla stated, 10mins from each of us adds up to a lot of help. It’s wonderful how many people have already been inspired by this great horse and her team to make a better world for horses.
BLIND LUCK & our fav CA horses, I contacted Santa Anita and suggested an Appreciation Day for all our fav’s going to auction, one last parade around the paddock for the fans. SA liked the idea and said they would see what they can do, of course, it depends upon the owners & whether they wish to participate. Also it’s very short notice as most are going to the BC. Anyway,if u r in So Cal and would like to see this happen, pls email SA some words of encouragement to let them know it will be worth their while. Just go to Santa Anita website, click on
‘contact us’ and scroll to bottom for the email us form. Then get your camera ready!
Good afternoon to everyone,
I haven’t posted on this website for a while, a lot has happened lately, I lost my job and that was really difficult to take. I guess I allowed my self to get too unset by this and ended up having a heart attack, I’m home now from the hospital and resting up for Zenyatta’s big party! I will be there, I wouldn’t miss for anything…..
It’s amazing to think how certain choices made in one’s life effect so many people…. Without you Zenyatta the Sport would not have had such excitement for the Breeder’s Cup the last two years. So have also attracked so many new fans to the sport. You have generated so many donations to the retired horses and have done so much…. without you and your team, family and connections… life would be boring for the rest of us.
Thanks for being YOU!!!!!!
Love and Hugs
Gloria Jeanne
I keep trying to get you more Facebook Fans – 92,068 as of right now. I would love for you to have 100,000 before the Breeder’s Cup – that would take about 495 people a day to like you…. Let’s make it happen…. if your fans tell one person and that person tells one person… it could take off and I think we could get to 100,000 fans before November 5th. Let’s make it happen – The Power of Zen!!!!!
