Happy Monday Everyone,
We have just completed another very exciting weekend of racing with many full fields and competitive events. Congratulations to all of the winners and their connections! To win a race at any level is a big accomplishment…and to win a graded stake is truly something to be cherished.
I sincerely want to send a HIGH HOOF to FRANKEL for his victory on Saturday at Ascot. It is with great respect that I want to congratulate him on his undefeated record that is now 9 for 9. This wonderful colt is competing at the highest level in our sport….and his continued success is something to be treasured!
While at Keeneland, MY JOHN visited with TIGER again….the adorable pony in this photo. Tiger was there last year with his connections when MY JOHN went to Keeneland to run Harmonious. He is laughing here as it reminds him that ALL HORSES ARE “TOO CUTE”. They simply come in various shapes and sizes blessed with different capabilities and goals! This thought is so true…and can be applied to so many different aspects in all levels of life.
Just thinking…only 18 days until Breeders’ Cup….and this means….only 18 days until MY PARTY. Wow! This is all so exciting. Also, I can’t wait to share with YOU what MY JOHN whispered in my ear when we visited.
With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

@Terry Crow
Oh yes, I understood what you meant. That riderless
Horse could have caused quite a problem. How could
He be caught in the middle of the race.
The Kennedys in San Diego
For all who are concerned, Zenyatta is very much present in Barn 55 — her photos and memorabilia are everywhere. Stall 85 (now occupied by Eblouissante) has a brass plate below the stall number — with “Zenyatta” inscribed.
Deborah Richman
Abigail in Montreal…I want to second Trina’s thank you for instructing us how to download you tubes onto dvd’s!
Molly
I thought Zenyatta’s stall would always remain vacant. So “E” now inhabits her stall? If so, what made John change his mind?
Delrene
Dear Kennedy’s – Thanks for saying goodbye to Blind Luck. She must have her kitty and goat. That is too sad if they don’t accompany her.
JAG – we must have been across from each other because I said Hi to Mr. Moss too and said how much we all loved Z and her people!
It’s almost a crime to be this cute, Tiger! Thanks Dottie for this very uplifting picture on a Monday morning.
I will have to come back and check out more of the links. Lots of great racing. And I’ve watched Z andTT at least 10 times already. It’s just as good as seeing her race. She looks so happy!
M. Kern
Oh! Tiger is too cute! and John looks so happy. Thanks for sharing the picture. Frankel is awesome. I really hope he stays healthy and we get to see him next year at the Breeders’ Cup. Have fun Queen Z and I love you very much!
Delrene
an additional comment: The Costco has the book Snowman, I just got mine in the mail from Amazon and am on the first chapter. I’m hooked already. Well written.
Hope I can get in to see the wonderful E and her fellow stall-mates, wonder if Nereid and Star Billing have returned to Ca on the plane.

@Abigail from Montreal, THANK YOU for the link to Zenny’s dancing video. She was/is amazing! How she could work a crowd and loved every minute while doing it. She sure landed in the right hands, owned by entertainment folks (the Mosses) and trained by the great John S. of Hollywood park. She is unique, one of a kind, horse for the ages, etc., etc.
How lucky I was to see her race.
Mary Copelin
The Kennedys in San Diego- Thanks for all of your contributions. I especially liked the news re. Barn 55 and E. being in the Queen’s stall and the update and commentary on Blind Luck. I am really concerned about B.L.
You add so much class and important information to this website.
Look forward to seeing you again in the near future.
Mary Copelin
Abigail from Montreal- Thank you so much for the info. on how to download from You Tube. I am an absolute dufuss when it comes to such things, and I will be forever grateful to you for the procedure.
Anne from Paramount, CA
@Trina N: a special for you only box: Five high hooves (is that physically possible?) to you, Dumpling! THANKS for the poem for Rod’s b.d and Rightful’s win. All three of us (Rod, Rightful and yours truly)are thrilled! Once again you have hit your mark! :)
We tried to visit R.I. at the barn early last Saturday am, but alas he was already on the track for a work or a gallop–not sure. We did not know how long Mike M would be out there, so after short time of hanging out we left. BUT, on our way back we saw a gray Baffert horse–asked his name and was told Uncle Sam. So, that was nice. THANK YOU again Trina! :) :) :)
Sally B.
Sweet Z your John must feel very tall next to Tiger! Is Tiger a pony or a miniture horse? Whichever, he is so cute. I was so so thrilled to see you on NBC with John and Tasty. I don’t have TVG or HRTV. I enjoyed the races but seeing you made my day! You look beautiful Big Mama; your so captivating. Eighteen days until your party, W H O O P I E!!
love with 2 kisses on your soft nose, one for baby z (your filling out nicely Z)
@Peggy (N) Thanks for your note. Now I am getting really excited. Sorry too that you can not make Z’s party.
Lanes End is not having visitation due to BC & sales. We were hoping to see especially A.P. Indy. Would have come earlier in October but then heard about Z’s party. We just could not miss that. I do not know when I’ll be back to Kentucky after this time.
If I do go back, I am flying there! It is getting tiresome driving from Wi. I am tickled about Ocala in March. If you go, wear your Z dumpling tag.
Carrie Jose
Dr. Z – I have not wrote in a very long while..I was looking on You tube and of course my fingers typed in Zenyatta and all the wonderful memories of you flooded back! You are such an amazing horse, and Im so glad that I got to witness your greatness! God blessed us when he gave you to us. Love you Z!
Terri Z
To all Z fans and Z dumplings:
Mike Smith is asking that Zenyatta fans donate $1 each to save a retired race horse, Scrumpy; he is currently living at Trott. Scrumpy won $190,000 for his owners and then when he could not longer race, he was abandoned at a low level track; the next stop was the feed lot. Trott wants to retrain Scrumpy for pleasure riding.
Go to TrottUSA.org to post your donation. And enter your confirmation number on Mike Smith’s facebook page. Mike will select a winner who will receive a signed poster of Zenyatta.
Mike thinks if each of us donates a dollar we can save Scrumpy.
Roberta Smith
Hello Pretty Girl! A beautiful little pony….thank you! I love you Zenyatta!

To “Z” Friends who would like to pray an Evening Prayer together:
……………………………………
Now that the daylight dies away,
By all thy grace and love,
Thee, Maker of the World we pray
To watch our bed above.
Let dreams depart and phantoms fly,
The offspring of the night,
Keep us, like shrines, beneath thine eye,
Pure in our foe’s despite.
This grace on thy redeemed confer,
Father, Spirit, Comforter,
Eternal three in One.
Eternal Three in One.

Dear Zenny
In the video looks like you were batting away
A lot of flys. Perhaps broodmares are not able
To wear fly spray due to pregnancy issues. You
Are really cute in the video. Glad you can still
Run around, maybe a bit slower. That z/b foal will
Keep you running again full speed. Sweet dreams.

What a wonderful prayer, it made the close
Of my day a highlight.
Andrea
Jeanne Wolverton, isnt that TORTURE! Oh my, the hyping of this years BCC by showing last years BCC is something I must get used to! This years race should be one for the ages too!

Sassy Image is out of the Breeders Cup Filly and
Mare sprint with ankle chip. Another one for the
November sale. At least they are honest, the new owners
Can remove the bone chip and run her again or
Have her as a broodmare. It seems some folks are
Only interested in the parts of the TB racing process
That does not include breeding. The reality of the game.
Anne from Paramount, CA
@ALL who have wished Rod a happy birthday, well, I will let him know tomorrow as the birthday boy is exhausted from celebrating and is now sleeping, or trying to. How thoughtful of you all! :)
@Kennedys: yes, thanks for the updates on Barn 55 and also Blind Luck. At least it is a direct relative of our Queen who is now in HER barn. We know Z will be very gracious about this.
@Laura J: thanks for the Charismatic update on ESPN. Does anyone else remember that Peb cartoon in the Form after C. Antley’s death? It shows Charismatic at his gravestone, sobbing over it. Very, very touching. He saved the horse, but could not save his own life. :)/:(
@Joanna: you saw Frankel, fantastic!
@QUEEN Z, love that Tiger, but I agree LSC may get jealous, LOL. And love YOUR JOHN’S smile.
@To all who go to BC this year HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME—hope the weather is merely “brisk ”
Good night and sweet dreams to you Ms.Z.
Anne from Paramount, CA
@Judy Berube and @ the Kennedys, almost forgot, thanks for the video of Z and TT. Good to see it! :)

We did not notice it until someone commented but Blind Luck’s cat is on one of the photos we posted on her Facebook page.

@Mary Copelin — Thank you, Mary. We look forward to seeing you again as well.
Marty R
Love this picture of John and Tiger. Such a tough name for this cute guy.
Just wondering…Is stall 85 bigger than some of the others? Maybe E outgrew her other stall. Do the grooms work in a concentrated area (all stalls in a row)? Maybe Mario needs to be her groom because of his experience with Zenyatta. Whatever the reason, I think it’s fitting that Zenyatta’s 1/2 sister is in her stall. And, it’s good to hear that Zenyatta’s memorabilia is all around the barn.
Irene Caty
Hi Zenny, that is a cute picture of Tiger and Your dear John looks like his same old self with hi Z cap on. I really like that. Happy to see you are getting ready for your big day. We wish you much luck and happiness with your big party. I will not be able to be there but will surely be thinking about you Queen Zenyatta, Love you dearly.
Diana_NV

@Nancy A.Nash Coleman: Thanks for the “Hugs and squishes” sign-off! Loved it! My mother’s maiden name was Coleman, and my grandfather Coleman was the most wonderful human I have ever known! You must be a very nice person!
@JAG: Thanks for the link: The Eighty Dollar Champion — I will certainly read it and give it for Christmas!
@Denise in AZ: Sorry for the job disappointment, but will continue to send you the very best wishes for a good position soon!
@Paula Higgins: Amen! Very well said!
@The Kennedys in San Diego: Thanks for the Blind Luck update — sure hope things work out for the best!
