Happy Friday to ALL!
It is another wonderful time for our sport this weekend. The programs in our country are highly contested. Then at Ascot, their weekend card features the inaugural British Champions Day. The race which will truly create a great deal attention is the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes–G1. FRANKEL is entered to run in this one mile turf event. He is going for his 9th straight victory while remaining undefeated! The feeling of anticipation and excitement surrounding this wonderful 3 year old colt is something to be enjoyed and embraced by all of racing.
FRANKEL…by Galileo (GB) out of Kind…is owned and bred by Juddmonte Farms. As a 2 year old, he performed beautifully in his races…so much so that he was awarded the honor of being the 2010 European Champion 2 year old colt.
As a 3 year old, he has continued to develop and mature at a very high level. As of August 5, 2011, he was ranked #1 in the World Thoroughbred Rankings!
This is truly an achievement of great pride and respect!
Other 3 year old stakes will be running this weekend in our country. In California, the Oak Tree Derby runs on Saturday and the Harold C. Ramser, Sr. (fillies) on Sunday! Then at Keeneland, we have the Queen Elizabeth Challenge Cup on Saturday for 3 year old fillies. This is one FUN TIME of the year to be 3!
HERE’S WISHING THE VERY BEST TO ALL OF THE HORSES AND THEIR CONNECTIONS!
Enjoy your handicapping and your weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

PS. I know what MY JOHN did yesterday! I’ll share it with YOU next week! He said it was VERY SPECIAL and I’D BE SO PROUD!

FRANKEL!!!! 9 for 9. Walked away from the field in an astounding show of mastery & grace. Bobby was in his mane, to be certain.

@Judy Berube
actually, it’s less than I thought, the retirement $’s, they should definitely scrap the voluntary fee, make it either you pay or you don’t play. Even with companion animals’ low cost apay/neuter, you’ll actually have people applying for it who could very well pay for the whole enchilada and then some, or forfitting payment altogether. Unbelievable. Make it firm, people in that business should have that amount, anyway.
But I still think introducing everyday people back to horses, and starting with school yard visits, youngsters are the future, community/private vegetable gardens are springing up all over the place, instead of heavy machinery/ real horsepower & dung, tourism industry, etc.
But it’s people who have to come in personal contact with the magnificence of a TB., will be left awe struck and then of course follow up with education/ the reality of the matter.
Thank you for the info.
Good morning Zetty,
the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, it’s nice & cool, darn sycamore leaves are dropping from across the street, they’re so huge, come to think of it, they’re just your size, you’d love’em.
There’s this pic of you taking a big bite out of a palm tree’s leaves. Too funny. :)

Have a great day

Way to Go (Frankel) what a horse you are. Congratulations to all your connections. As much as I would love to see you at the Breeders cup, Just don’t think they will run you back in 3 weeks. And, I hope they give you more time to rest. Love you, Peggy

@ALL Congrats to Rapid Redux on his 18th win!! I hope Mr. Cole loves this 5 yr old gelding and after his racing days has a plan to retire him in a nice place someday. I would hate to see him wind up like so many who don’t have an income anymore fall into the hands of the slaughter pipeline. This wonderful son of Pleasantly Perfect out of a Storm Cat mare deserves the best retirement. I wish I could have him!
@KATHY KLIMBER I wish I could be there for the great Skipaway’s re-interment on the 17th, Old Friends is definitely on my list of stops
on BC week. I will donate to the cementary improvement then.
Michelle
Z, I think you need a date with Frankel when he retires or his daddy Galileo. What a racehorse that would be.
I ordered my tickets to your party, I am excited. Wish you could be there with us.

GEEZ….So You Think comes in 2nd, Snow Fairy comes in 3rd. I’m beginning to think that Aidan O’Brien still hasn’t got SYT quite right, because he had a perfect trip today — no excuses. Either that, or he wants to go back home to Australia & his stall at Saintly Place!!!!!

So glad to hear that Hear Comes Frazier is doing well. We were at Keeneland the day he raced and got hurt. We were just sick with worry for him and Julien. Thank God they both seem to be okay. Love you forever Z!!!

Judy Berube: You’re completely wrong about the fees to register a foal with the Jockey Club. It’s not ‘voluntary’ at all.
Foal Registration Fees All Fees Payable in U.S. Dollars
If all Requirements1 are met within one calendar year from foaling date $200.00
If all Requirements1 are met by December 31 of yearling year $525.00
If all Requirements1 are met by December 31 of two-year-old year $775.00
If all Requirements1 are met after December 31 of two-year-old year $2,000.00
If you don’t believe this, go to the Jockey Club site and see for yourself. Thank you.

Go Frankel and Cloud Man!! What a tribute to Bobby!!

@Judy Berube and Debbie G-Glad you are enjoying the jokes. @Deborah Richman-Diana s is responsible for the California redneck jokes. I think she is drawing on her own experience.@JAG-Thanks for the link to the Zenyatta discussion. @Diana, Denise in AZ and Rosemary McCauley-You might be an Arizona/California redneck if you have ever taken taxes out of your kid’s allowance. @Judy Berube,NE redneck chapter president-You might be a redneck if you’ve ever rolled over in bed and started a lawnmower. @Susan in TN and Kari Bussell-You might be a redneck if you’ve ever needed stitches for a horsefly bite. You might be a redneck if your paperweight is a decomposing chicken. You might be a redneck if you can shuffle a deck of cards with your butt cheeks. You might be a redneck if your underwear is roughly the same color as the Mexican flag. Will post a joke later.

@Terry Crow–you’re on a roll……

Way to go Frankel!!! Would like to see him in the Breeder’s Cup Mile vs Goldikova.

Hi Zenyatta. What a great day of racing so far – the English races were great – Frankel was magnificent. What a shame about the controversy about usage of whips. Perhaps someday using whips will be a thing of the past. Good luck to all the horses today, especially for a safe trip. Just saw Rehoboth eased at Laurel. He is an 8 year old and has been one of my favorities all these years. Hopefully, he is not hurt. Whoa, how about Rapid Redux winning 18 in a row last night – wow, just awesome. Can’t wait to find out what John has planned for you!! Love you, stay comfy, eat well for two and have loads of fun with TT and all your other friends. Love you, Angel in Disguise.

@Max–thanks for posting Frankel’s video!

Congratulation to Frankel. He is really good and very professional. I hope he stays healthy and we see him next year at Santa Anita. I love you Queen Z. Are you having fun picking winners with Tasty?
Diana S
@Peggy One: The fee schedule you posted is for registering, not for the retirement fund. The retirement fund check off is currently voluntary.

@Frankel: Now that’s how I like to see a horse run – pure joy, pure will, jockey just along for the ride and a little steering. Come see us in BC2012 next year! Go rest up a bit the rest of this year.

@Denice in AZ: I think YOU should lead the AZ Redneck chapter! But these are for you.
You might be an Arizona Redneck if your mamma won a jalapeno eating contest.
You might be an Arizona Redneck if 2nd place went to your baby sister.

@My California cousins: You might be a California Redneck if you think you need a passport to go to Sea World.

Good morning beautiful Zenyatta. We are all so excited that you are doing so well.
John and Dottie: Thank you from all of us for keeping us all updated on “the Queen’s” progress. I truly appreciate your continued effort(s).

@Diana S-Your reign remains unchallenged. @Diana S, Denise in AZ and Rosemary McCauley-You might be an Arizona/California redneck if you’ve ever brushed your teeth with a lucky rabbit’s foot.@Judy Berube, president of NE chapter-You might be a redneck if you lost a game of tic-tac-toe to yourself. @Susan in Tn and Kari Bussell-You might be a redneck if you think George Jones is one of the apostles. You might be a redneck if you ever downloaded a ring tone with a jog band playing in the background. You might be a redneck if you have ever unclogged your sink with a shotgun. You might be a redneck if you think the Super Bowl is in Superman’s bathroom. Today’s joke–An older couple living in the country drove into town. She headed for the town store and asked to buy 10 yards of outing flannel to make a nightgown. The clerk asked her why she needed all of ten yards. She replied “At his age paw has more fun hunting for it than when he finds it.”

that should be jug, not jog

@ Sally b & PeggyN – absolutely you can go a day before the sale. They welcome people to come and look at the horses. I suggest that first you observe a bit and get familiar with the traffic flow, that is where to stand when looking at a horse ,not to stand in a place where you can get kicked etc. Then you get a catalog, free for everyone and then you can pick out the horses you would like a closer look off and you ask the consigner to show you the horse. Everyone can do this you don’t actually need to be buying. Have fun!

OH TOO BAD, Frankel will not be coming to KY.
Hope for him to come next year at SA.

I think you are right about BL. Holendorfer does
Not want to be involved with an investigation like
