Good Morning,
All is going well with MY PARTY plans. I am getting so excited. At this time, we have guests who will be attending from approximately 35 different states and Canada. This is so much FUN!
I know Dottie and Leonard are working quite hard on all of the specific details one needs to plan and organize for such an event. Yesterday, they were reviewing the timeframe with Amy (Video Production) as to when I will attend the party via live feed.
In the meantime, I’m getting to visit with special family friends. REAGAN came to see ME the other day for a ‘play date’. This baby thing is still so new to ME. It think she thought my coat was quite ‘soft’ when she touched ME.
TOO CUTE!
As I’ve mentioned before, MY BABY will be so much bigger than a human child. REAGAN is 6 months old. At this age, BABY Z / B will be at the stage of being weaned and weigh somewhere in the range of 400-500 ish pounds…per Bayer Equine Connection.com.*
“Foals are commonly weaned at 5 to 6 months of age.”*
Wow..this is interesting. I can only imagine that BABY B/Z and I will really be quite close for several months after his/her birth. I really like this idea. I hope to teach ‘MY DUMPLING’ some great things.
“Once a foal is no longer nursing, a 500-600 pound weanling should be eating approximately 2.5% of its body weight in feed and forage in a day.”*
This is also something to note. Foals grow quickly.
I love learning all of these new things. I truly want to be well-prepared to be a GREAT MOM!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~
Z

@Susan in TN—Your comment(“Zenny, you really are one for the ages—ALL ages!”) is TOO CUTE! I loved your update on Chester and his friends—I’m glad Rootbeer will have equine company also in his new home. Wow, Chester galloping along the fence line—who would have thought it! How sweet that he and Chopper now get to enjoy the pats of the children. Hope Rusty will get adopted into a really wonderful home soon too.
@JAG—Signed the petition and sent an e-mail.
@Meredith Hughes—To get complete details for Z’s party, click on the Events “It’s party time” icon below the comment box at the bottom right hand of this page, then click on the gold “Buy tickets here” link at the end of the entry, and then click on “See Details” for each icon. The luncheon party, you’ll see, is $95 and the after-party is $40.

@Everyone: Saw the segment on Letterman with Erin and Tonk. Enjoyed it alot! Tonk is very handsome — Erin and he are extremely fortunate to have each other!

@Judy, Thank you for the article on lure. I went in and read it.
Delrene
Dear Judy – having seen Blind Luck race in California and knowing she has been shipped across the country this past season for races in other sates, I would not doubt that she is tired and needs a rest. Having seen her up close ( in the paddock) she is amazing. I don’t know much about her trainer/owner Mr. Hollendorfer but I know he won some award this year I think the Hall of Fame. I think with all Z’s fans and the power of the internet , this will turn into a PR nightmare. It was such a blow to read the article in Bloodhorse. No other announcement just very abrupt, she is up for sale. boom-end of story. Perhaps it will not end badly, especially if we all watch and comment. It is, as the Kennedy’s have stated, a business, but tough on the horses that earn these people millions of dollars. I hope Mr. Hollendorfer steps up to the plate and gives a better explanation than has been provided so far.
On another note, I’ll bet they have “tonk” story on youtube and you can catch it there.
Let’s all try and think positive thoughts for these magnificent filly’s and mares.
Good night to all and especially you sweet Zenyatta.
Hugs to all-sorry, took up more space than I planned to

You’ll be a great mother Zenny!!

@All: Horses are NOT commodities! If you want the thrill of racing but don’t want to make an emotional long term commitment to a sentient being, GO BUY A RACE CAR! They don’t bleed. They don’t pine away for their human “friends”. If they crash, they don’t feel pain. Shame on anyone who cavalierly tosses a horse away without so much as a “by your leave.” I’m not against sales, but the situation with Blind Luck stinks to high heaven.

@Delrene–Thanks for your up-close-and-personal take on Blind Luck. And don’t you worry about “taking up too much space”–there is plenty of room here for everybody!

This was my initial take when I heard and read that Blind Luck was going to auction (even if it is Keenland).
First off, after her LAT performance in the Lady’s Secret, Mr. Hollendorfer said that he scoped her and that she did not bleed. A couple of my friends were there and saw her bleeding out of the nostrils. Then, they say, they’re doing a nuclear scan but, nothing else has been said about her condition. Oh, and that she’ll be back next year after a vacation. Next thing we know, she’s up for sale. What?!?!?! This is just like Rachel’s retirement. Hush, no one say anything! As a Fan, this really aggravates me. However, being apart of the industry, I understand the $$$ situation. But, she made them Millions and that is the sad part about it.
You know that, Blind Luck isn’t the only one of our girls to go up for auction, right?
I can’t even name them all. Let’s see.. St.Trinians, Switch, Patchattack, Ultra Blend, Unrivaled Belle, Turbulent Decent, Royal Delta etc…. Let’s just pray that they all go to good and loving families!
Carol
Zenyatta, you’re my favorite of all time. You’re so beautiful and we can’t wait for you to have your first foal! I wish the Mosses would consider buying Blind Luck. They would appreciate the wonderful horse she truly is and see to it that she has a beautiful life like you.
Brenda S..
Good Morning Zenny, What a lucky girl you are to have such a marvelous family. Enjoy your day with Tasty munching that great blue grass and chatting about your party.
@ Diana S – Well said. Horses are not fashion items, good for one or two seasons and then cast off. At this point in time we can only hope that there are no sleazy buyers at Keeneland and that BL finds a good home. I can’t forget Ferdinand.
Pam Zacek,

Zenny you are the BEST, as always. Hugs
@Barbara Grimaldi. you are awesome. I ditto what you wrote.
..Bloodhorse magazine will be printing my rant about whipping too much in the last quarter of racing. You too can email these concerns & perhaps be printed. WE Z fans are a force here. I would love to see racing all horses a year later. No 2yr olds. Just too young.

You’ll make a great mom, Zenny, I can see the love in your eyes! Jean

You will be the BEST Mom, Z.

Zenyatta, those are great pictures of you and the baby playing together. I wish I could have been there to see that. I love babies-human ones as well as baby animals such as foals. Speaking of foals, you are right about foals weighing so much more and growing so much faster than human babies. A foal weighs more at 6 months than a human adult ever will. You are learning very quickly about babies-all babies-human and animal since you will be a mother yourself before long.
