Good Morning,
It’s FRIDAY! I hope each of you had a very healthy, happy and productive week!
In our racing world, so much is taking place during the next 4 days. I really do need to get all of the details of my schedule worked out. I do not MISS one thing. TASTY agrees.
On Friday, Keeneland opens their Fall Meet. Over the next few days, they are hosting several major prep races for the Breeders’ Cup. My friend from California, SWITCH, is competing in one of them. This time, she is sprinting. Overall, Keeneland offers a lovely stakes program. All of these races will be fabulous to watch. In looking at the FORM, they have very full fields. It might be a good idea to start your handicapping early.
In general, the 2 year old racing is heating up as well. There are several graded stakes for them taking place now.
Then on Saturday and Sunday, Santa Anita and Belmont Park continue their preps for the World Championship Days. There won’t be a moment to spare with all of these contentious races taking place in our country.
I do want to mention that BLACK CAVIAR is going for #14 at Caulfield on Saturday. What a thrill! I so enjoy watching such top-quality racing.
What a ‘sporting weekend’ we have in store.
The BEST OF LUCK to all who are competing both ‘on’ and ‘off’ the track in all of these events!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

@Michelle Moore–I dread the day we lose our grandhorsehorse. It must feel cataclysmic.
@Kari Bussell and Deborah Richman__ wow! I helped you guys?? After all you’ve done for us? That’s amazing. I’m always the last to know everything. LOL! I’m glad I brought it up. It was a gorgeous day at Keeneland.
@Trina N– thank you. I lit a candle for JAG.
@all our Jewish friends– have a blessed Yom Kippur.

@Brenda S
Definately agree with you about both stallions.
I have never seen such a muscular (everywhere)
TB with short muscular legs, guess that is the wholesome
Aussie look, definately an impressive guy on the
Track, too. With a WOW pedigree. Maybe will bulk
Up the American colts.
Max
@signofthetimes. Larry Jones has said that Havre de Grace can look any colt in the eye and not be intimidated. That expression makes you think that she intends to take no prisoners in whatever race that she runs in November. Look out, Mo, that filly means business.
Brenda S..
@signofthetimes – I have to think that Darley (the Sheikh??)has the same thoughts as you – bulk them up a bit. I hope he doesn’t go too far though. In my opinion, it would be hard to improve on Secretariat, he was handsome but well built, looked good.
Betsy McGrath
To Trina, Rosemary McCauley, Barbara Wood, and Susan in TN: thank you for the lovely welcome! Well, I hope it was JOHN…in any case, I have tremendous respect for how Zenyatta’s JOHN works with horses, right down to the “quiet hours” between noon and 3:00 and keeping them stimulated and entertained. It is so wonderful when someone finds the EXACT work in life that he or she should be doing.

Cute pic today. Love those ears, Z!
Weekends like this one make me glad our cable system has HRTV and TVG. We don’t plan to miss a moment.
Stella Bagwell
Dearest Zenyatta,
The racing this weekend across the country is going to be fabulous! I’m sure you’ll be watching and cheering for all your friends. I’ll be sure to watch for Switch and Black Caviar’s attempt for another win will be very exciting.
It’s still very hot here in South Texas and we don’t get a change in the leaves until December, but I’m sure it’s looking beautiful at Lane’s End. How lucky that you and Tasty can gaze at all the lovely fall colors around you while you discuss all the racing news and baby thoughts. :)
Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend, dear girl. As always, thoughts of you fill my heart with a smile.
Love and hugs,
Stel PS Very cute pic, Z! You’re so photogenic!
Jan

To all the Dumplings going to Santa Anita tomorrow – I hope you have a fabulous time! Have a fantastic birthday, JAG!
@Terry Crow – What does it say about me the only movie I can quote lines from is Airplane and the annual Rudolph Xmas special? Pretty sad!

@Max
I really live HDG attitude, she knows she is good
And definately ” will take no prisoner”. I did not see
Her in the paddock before The Woodward, but
Those who did said she walked among all the
Colts with an air of well earned superiority. Maybe
Running against the boys is what she needs to
Bring that attitude out. I am using attitude is a good way, maybe
Aire of confidence would be better. The BL and HDG was getting
Old. She is a very nice well built mare and staring
Down the boys like Zenny is awesome. I am not sure
BL could beat the boys because of her size. If she were trapped
It would take a lot for her to rally against all that raging
Testosterone. The Best
Thing about her is that she runs her own race and
Is not pace dependent. This 2011 BCC is going to
Be quite exciting

@Judy B
Shiek Mohamed is quite the breeder. Knowing
That Anerican TB racers are not very sturdy and
Bringing Lonhro here. He makes Curlin look like
A pip-squeak. Breeding him to RA might be good,
She is small enough to absorb his size. Definately
Will like to see his influence, especially since he
Stamps his offspring. Definately not a good mate
For Zenny.

Dear Signofthetimes:
No, he wouldn’t be right for Z. But, am looking forward to all the American mares he’s bred to and their babies. Will certainly add the stamina we need to the lines. Hugs, JB

@Deborah Richter
Glad you liked the pic of Mo and HDG. Larry Jones
Looks like “Go get those boys and show them
You mean business”.

@Deborah Richman
Happy early B- day. I love the way Larry Jones
Parades her around both riding and on the ground.
All 200 lbs of him is really making her strong.

Commentary as the great filly Black Caviar goes 14 for 14: “What a champion!” “She destroys the field!” “It doesn’t get any easier than that!””Looked like a workout for her!”
JAG ~ California
Congrats to BLACK CAVIAR. Now among the 14 for 14 champs club! XO

Good luck tomorrow with the racing hope to see Bernie’s boy win the Champagne.

It’s always fine to stop by and read all the warm and sincere comments by all of Zenny’s friends. It’s peaceful yet exciting here, and we get to see new photos of precious Zenyatta. I do love to see her with Tasty–girls will be girls. Sweet.
Our website is not functioning tonight. I think he webmaster (that’s me) goofed. It will be up again tomorrow afternoon after some web surgeons take a look at the patient.
Terry–yes, as we prepare for our work with the tracks, we have come across another trainer who is far worse than Danny Bird and gives Dutrow a run for his money. The guy’s name is Burton Sipp. He has a perp sheet that will stagger you. And he, too, is at that garden spot of a track, Mountaineer. The racing industry needs to watch who it hires and above all, watch out for its horses. The horses make them money, running their hearts out. And when they can no longer run, owners/trainers have an obligation to take care of the horse for the rest of its life, train it into a different sport or work or activity, or, if it is so seriously injured or sick that no amount of good vet care can help, then give that horse the dignity and kindness and care of humane euthanasia. There is so much work to do, and we are committed to doing it. The team of dumplings I work with at equi-army-ndo is so outstanding that I am at a loss to come up with enough praise for them. I think you know who they are, bless them. I only hope more join us.
Zenyatta! Do you see what you have inspired? Do you see what loving you has led us to–fighting for your sisters and brothers? It’s a noble fight and I’m proud to be in it.

Zenny, Good night, sweetie. Have a wonderful weekend with TT and your LE pals.

Just wanted to let you know that Black Cavier won race #14.
I believe she tied or is close to Phar Lap’s record.
What a great sprinter
