Good Morning,
I wanted to share something FUN that is happening tomorrow, October 7th, at Santa Anita. They are having PHOTOGRAPHY DAY! It all starts tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. / Clockers’ Corner. Santa Anita is offering all of the fans a chance to really participate in photographing the different areas of the grounds as well as the day’s racing events.
For $20, a fan can attend the all day event. It starts early with the opportunity to take photos of the horses while they are training during workouts. This is followed by a late breakfast at Clockers’ Corner and a Q & A session with members of the Benoit group who are the Official Photographers for all of the Southern California Racing Circuit, a trainer, and some members of management.
The trainer who was asked to guest this year is MY JOHN. As many of you may know, photography is one of My John’s favorite hobbies. HE ABSOLUTELY LOVES TO TAKE PICTURES. He will be there to answer all types of questions with his NIKKON CAMERA in hand. As a matter of fact, just last night he was commenting that without a doubt “ZENYATTA was one of his best subjects”. (BLUSH, BLUSH)
After this, the fans will be given a PRESS CREDENTIAL and race track access for the day of racing. They will be able to go into the paddock, winner’s circle, and other parts of the grounds via this special pass. For someone who really enjoys taking pictures, you could not have a more beautiful setting than Santa Anita. The Foothill Mountains provide such a breath-taking backdrop for one of the most amazing racing settings in all of our sport.
If you have the time and live close by…what a great way to spend the day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Good Morning everyone and a kiss on your soft nose Mama to be! I see on my Equibase your sweet sister E worked out this a.m. She did well. Getting bigger and better. We know John will race her when he thinks she is ready and not a moment before. Have a wonderful photo day at SA all who are going.
Sun is shining bright and crispness in the air in Carlsbad. A perfect So Cal day.
Blessing to all.
Must get back to the posts and read Trina’s poem. I have still lots to catch up with –

Good luck and safe travels for all the horses in this race, but especially for those who are returning to the races after being sidelined with injuries: http://www.drf.com/news/belmont-boys-tosconova-tapizar-back-action
@The Kennedys in San Diego – you’re welcome, I hope Gio Ponti gets back on the winning track again (no pun intended).
@signofthetimes – you’re welcome. I’m glad that you had a great day on your B-day.
@Barbara Wood – you’re welcome. No donation is too small when it comes to saving horses.
@Kim S. – you’re welcome. He was a very handsome fellow indeed.
@Barbara Grimaldi – you’re welcome Skip.
@Denise in AZ – good luck to your husband. I hope he gets the job.

Wow, that sounds like an amazing opportunity. I love taking photos at the races, in fact that’s my main focus more than betting or anything else. And Santa Anita is hands down the most beautiful track I’ve been to. Too bad I don’t live closer to do this! But Keeneland is in my backyard and of course it’s a close second for the beauty factor. That would be cool if Keeneland would do a program like that sometime too.
