Good Morning,
I can’t believe that it is October 4th already. There are so many wonderful things happening in our sport. The first round of Breeders’ Cup prep races are now in the books and the balance of them will take place this weekend. It is really getting exciting now!
I am doing MY very best to keep up with all of the racing activity around the country as well as my own duties and responsibilities as an “OFFICIAL HOSTESS FOR THE BREEDERS’ CUP. I actually have a ‘CALENDAR’ which keeps track of all of the appointments I have
with sports writers who are doing articles and promotion for our SPORT! Needless to say, I am very happy to help.
People are really getting excited about MY PARTY. Leonard, who is working with Dottie on all of this, said that people from 26 different states and Canada have already purchased tickets. This is fabulous! Also, today is the first day that Breeders’ Cup will be going public with the ticket announcement. How much FUN is this! My Team is really getting excited!
Amidst all of my other activities, I also want to keep up with my philanthropic work. I am pleased to say that a visit with ME was recently auctioned off at the Crystal Boots and Silver Spurs Event—to benefit MS. The final bid was $6,219. I am so, so pleased that I am able to help raise money for this special charity!
Yesterday, I met with Anna Ford and we are planning an activity for NEW VOCATIONS which is a horse adoption charity. Then on October 17, The RIDING FOR HOPE AUCTION winner will be coming for a visit. LUCKY ME! I really feel so proud that I can do my part to help.
It is also important for ME to keep in touch with MY FAMILY. “E” is training nicely at BARN 55 and getting into a regular routine. She has breezed 3/8ths a few times and is moving forward. MIKIE always stops by to visit her…and I know that MY JOHN and Mario give her HUGS from ME all of the time. I’d know those ‘ears’ anywhere. I guess they run in the family!
Hmmm! Wonder if BABY Z / B’s ears will look like mine? I hope so!
Have a terrific Tuesday!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Come to my party!

Oh, the photo of Mike and E is so beautiful, your sister is so cute, and I can wait to see her run. Love you Ingrid.

Dear Zenny,
Your lil sis is so big and gorgeous and Mikey looks so good on top. She is dark like Bernie and your “mom” and has the signature
“V”, Zenny ears. Sure do hope Z/B foal has those ears. Hope you had a great day grazing and keeping up your calendar. I knew that you would have to get one eventually. Philanthropy is a wonderful buisness for a horse. XXXXXOOOO

Again, thanks so much for sharing. Leaves me smiling each time.

Ebby is gorgeous, just like her sis! A very striking and stunning resemblance. Hope the baby has those special Z ears!

Dearest Z-you are such a great blessing to all those who benefit from your charities. I miss you racing so much-a light in a troubled industry, but you will continue to inspire others. Sadly, I can’t attend your party, but maybe I’ll hit the lottery!! God bless.
Linda/Maryland
I HOPE THE EARS ARE Exactly like yours too!
How exciting!
Love you Zenny~!

@Ann Maree—Thanks for the link to that great testimonial to the greatness of Z by Allen Jerkens. Thanks too for the heads up about Moroccan Sky trying to break his maiden on Thursday for John and the Mosses. Go, Moroccan Sky!
@Selene McCarthy—Happy birthday to your horse Kilkogan.
@JAG—Great link (“Rescue, Rehab, Re-home”). That’s what so many beautiful horses (and they are all beautiful, whether racing thoroughbreds or others) need so much!
LauraJ
@Trina Naegle, thanks, but I think someone else her came up with it first. Can’t remember who, though.
Jeanne Sutton
Wow, E is one good-looking filly! Still loving those big pictures! Thanks so much!

Queen Z….all your charity work must cut into your grazing time!! Be sure you have time to enjoy the last nibbles of green grass before winter comes. Your sis is a beauty just like you!
Linda O.
What a beautiful girl!! Looks just like her big sis! Zenny I am coming to your party!! I bought tickets today. I am so excited. I will be wearing my Zenyatta hat and shirt that I wore last year to the BC! Can’t wait!
Paula Higgins
“E” is a beautiful girl and her ears are definitely like her sister’s. Dottie please take lots of pictures of the lunch with Zenyatta on Breeder’s Cup Friday. I am so glad the response to your invitation has been so great. I wish so much I could be there too. But I will be there in spirit like may others. Zenyatta will be the “Hostest with the Mostest.” It is so in character for Zenyatta and her family to do all this for charities. She continues to be a gift to horses and horse racing even “retired.”
tony
Zenny, you and little sis, E, sure have the looks. Your mom passed on some great genes to both of you. Of course, you have set a standard for every thoroughbred … and some very large hoofprints to fill.
Sunny Boyd
Good evening Zenyatta,
your sis is gorgeous, isn’t she? What a beautiful girl, just like her famous sister. Your little foal will be just as gorgeous, I bet.
I’m glad your fame is being used constructively, there are lotsa good causes.
Get plenty of rest and dream sweet.
Barb France
Zenyatta, your little sis is stunning! Her coat looks shiny, ears are pricked and her head is bowed and she holds herself a little like you did! It sure will be exciting to see “E” run. She is in good hands with John! Mikey looks like a kid in a candy store…I just love his smile!
WILD HORSES
Hey Big Z, I hope baby Z’s ears look just like yours too Big Z. I miss you and am thinking about getting a tatoo with your name. It’s very pretty and has your racing colors. It would be my one and only tatoo if I get it. I think you’re definately special enough to endure a needle poking me for a few hours. I still love to watch your old races. There’s no one like you Big Beautiful One.
Love Ya Lori
Catriana
Wondering what time you go to sleep for the night, Zenyatta. I am guessing that a broodmare needs more zzzzzs. Speaking of which, will your foal have a “Z” name? Your little sis has more of an Arabian look than you, Zen, but you both are simply gorgeous. Sleep well.
Cristine
Dottie, who is E’s exercise rider and groom? Would like to meet the “new family”.
Irene Caty
Zenny, I hope that baby Z/B’s ears are just like yours also and I hope that baby Z/B is much like you in every way. Love you very much, enjoy yourself with all your projects.
Rebel
Thank you for bringing a smile my way every day, Zenyatta. You mean the world to me and to so many others. Dottie, thank you for all of your creativity and for always recognizing Zen’s fans. Zen you are still the reigning Horse of the Year and I expect that you may be Broodmare of the Year before long.

@Catriana
Take a look at Bernardini’s head, who is “E”
Sire, he has an absolutely gorgeous, smooth very
Regal head, not Arabian looking at all, no dish nose.
Zenny has a head very much like her sire, Street Cry,
A very wholesome look.

@All who have prayed for us in Texas: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but another fire broke out in Bastorp today and has consumed 900 acres–no homes yet, that I know of. The wind is supposed to pick up tomorrow. We could surely use your prayers again.
Well, Z–it’s been a long day, and it’s time to pack it in for the night. I bet you’ve been asleep for hours already. Love you always.
Anne from Paramount, CA
Queen Z, I am going to jump right in w/o having read today’s posts yet:
