Happy Friday, Everyone!
Suddenly it has become a bit chilly in Lexington. I need to have MY cozy blanket on for my early morning grazing fun with Matt! It is pretty out, though! The fall leaves will start to change soon…and the added color will really make the trees look amazing! This is MY first ‘fall’ in this regard for many years. In California, the seasons do not change as prominently as they do in Kentucky!
I am so pleased that YOU really like the idea of MY PARTY. So many fans have already responded and purchased tickets. If you have done so already…you are definitely in the first 500…so do not worry. The computer people are getting this refined for you so the people purchasing tickets in the future will know this information right away. This should all be completed today. Thank you for your patience!
I am also so excited about the incredible weekend of racing we are all going to be able to enjoy. From the East Coast to West Coast, it is one contentious stakes race after another with so many of the results having Breeders’ Cup ramifications. I love the fact that Havre de Grace and Blind Luck are each performing at such a high level. Their races are going to be so exciting! (I have a special fondness for the LADY’S SECRET which runs this weekend.) Then to see all of the other possibilities…whether turf or dirt for so many other terrific horses…will make handicapping GREAT FUN this weekend!
I can’t wait!
All the best to each of the horses competing during the next few days! All of my pals at Lane’s End and I will be watching!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Devastating news about Banned. RIP, sweet one.

I have so little time to come back to this beautiful garden as often as I would like, and I haven’t kept up with the diaries (so many keep coming out this past week), but I know there are kindred spirits on this diary who want Shackleford to win and only run in mile-long races. I’ve written letters to Dale and sent emails to Dale and phoned Dale and left messages on Shack’s FB page–and so what happens today? Shack comes in second in a Grade II race–and why? Because the dang race was too long for this precious guy!!!! So I left a rather strong message on Shack’s FB page–someone had better go and ask Mr Romans what the heck he is doing to this horse.
Forgive my ire, but this misuse of this horse has gone far enough. Thank heaven that our Zenny had John and the Mosses, who KNEW how to bring a horse along the right way.
Brenda S..
Susan from Fl – Thanks for the tip – I’m watching now.
Vicki B.
Yay! Zazu, Zazu, Zazu!!! She won the Lady’s Secret, which was kind of “your” race, Zenny, isn’t that great!
Kari Bussell
@Brenda S- Glad you are fully with us now…
@Terry Crow- L is a four letter word here….and you KNOW it.I am impressed with your SEC knowledge….USC can have Lane…now I need to go wash my hand off with soap.

@Kari Bussell – No need to worry, you will never be banned from Kentucky! I’m glad you can appreciate the pain us UK fans go through every year during football season. All I can say is, when does basketball season start? :-)
@DMCQ – What an awesome thing you did for Susan! There are just so many incredible people on this diary, it never ceases to amaze me.

Dear Zenyatta you look lovely in your blanket. You are the Queen special girl. I had a busy day and just found out Mo won YEA!!! I am so happy for him because he came back from that serious illness. I am so Happy for Zazu. Way to Go!!! I am so happy for you family. This was a good racing day.I am glad I have you and my Z family to keep me informed. I have to tell you that we had our Mistletoe party in Homeroom 215. Toward the end of the party Mistletoe’s voice( Jennifer Wirth Ice) called to talk to the children. I think they thought Mistletoe was on the phone. They were so cute yelling things about good grades and good behavior. I am so blessed with another Awesome role model for the children. Jennifer and her husband Tim are also really special horse OwnersTrainers.I feel lucky to have such good people in my life and the lives of the children. Thank you Zenny for starting all this for me and my new Homeroom. I hope you and Tasty T have a good night. Stay warm. I love you. Hugs and Kisses, Shari XXXOOO

@Debbie G- Rolling laughter at how clever your response is. He who laughs last …laughs loudest….and that would be Kentucky when you put it that way….still laughing…..

@Lisa’s Booby Trap fans:
Lisa’s Booby Trap finished 1st by 3/4 lengths, on October 1, 2011, at FINGER LAKES in Race 7.
Off odds: 3.35

@Signofthetimes, at least GoGo had the sense to ease her. Hoping its just something minor.

Oh Zenny, it was a beautiful day in FL today. Just right to be able to sit outside comfortably, which I did at lunch (while working–yuck).
@Barbara Wood, Trina Nagele, Judy Berube and Terry Crow–thanks for the thoughts to Angel and Victor. I’m not sure how old Victor is, I’m guessing 10-15 yrs. And he seemed a little better today, not calling for Angel but keeping to himself here and there.
@Judy Berube–what a wonderful video of Bernardini and how beautiful is he, shiny, dappled and coppery-bronze.
@Terry Crow aka Diana S :)–great joke, had just received it in an email and was going to send it along but you beat me to it LOL, then the vacation one made really laugh.
RIP Banned, so sad.
Congrats to Zazu!! I’ll have to stop now so i can go watch the recorded races.
Sweet dreams Zenny. Enjoy but be careful in this cool weather.
Lotsa love to all.
Trina Nagele
Hoof ray, Lisa’s Booby Trap! Thanks, Laura J!

All right,here we go to the Breeders Cup. I do believe Zenyatta has inspired others this year their filly can
can also do it all. Once again the ladies excel in stamina,strength and and courage. Even the racing experts are impressed. About time. Finally. they are placed front and center as superb athletes along side the great icolts they are now competing with. So many have a new or a renewed interest in this grand sport now. All good. Congrats to The Mosses on Zazu. I am sure Ann is tearing up with her usual excitement. So deserved. So envious of those going to Z’s BCC party. Hopefully everything will be posted on YouTube or this site for others to share in the excitement.

Sure enjoying the races this weekend but I sure miss seeing you in them. The races are just not the same without you Zenyatta. I love you from the bottom of my heart and always will. Sending my Love & Blessings to you my dearest Queen!
Brenda S..
Cozi and Harmonious just missed, but ran well. Good day for Rosario. Glad I can watch HRTV for a few weeks.
Kari Bussell

Just came back off a vacation and as soon as I could wanted to see all the new pictures and posts. Zenny you are an adorable Mom to be – Happy to see Zazu’s win and hope BL is ok. Something is amiss. I do wish I could be there at your BC party, but I have committed to watch grandchildren in Mo while my daughter in law goes on a Rock N Roll marathon in Savannah, Ga with her gal pals. I will DVR it all for when I return home. Miss seeing you on the racetrack and the Lady’s Secret was so special to watch when you won it.
Tasty T looks good too. I’m so happy you have a best friend.

@Brenda S

@Laura J
Yes, GoGo did a really good job with Blind Luck. Hope she is Ok,too. I guess we will know tomorrow. Bloodhorse said she just did not fire. Very strange for her, such a talent.
How was the Belmont today?? So very exciting, I bet.

What a great day of racing! Yay, Zazu! Yay, everyone!
@Kari B: Very sneaky how you slipped a “Go, Vols” into the horse racing results- impressive! LOL’d at your reference to L***!
I am working my way up the posts and may not finish tonight. Warm wishes to all my Z friends <3
Molly
Congratulation to the Moss Family on Zazu’s big win today. What a Super Saturday it was. Zenyatta, as great as the day was, I missed seeing you race.
Sally B.
Yippie for Zazu Z! Geez I sure wish I had TVG or HRTV. At least I learn of the excitement in racing on here with Z and Z’s dumplings. Congrats to Ann & Jerry.
love with 2 kisses on your soft nose, one for baby z

Zenyatta,
Hope you are having a fun day watching the races with the gang at LE. :)
@Judy B. Thanks for the update on Indian Tale. I worry about her.
Yeah, what’s up with D.Romans.

@Terry Crow/Diana S: Funny!
@Terry C: I believe I had a TRUE-TO-LIFE “you might be a redneck if” moment! I said (casually) to my husband, “I guess I’ll have to buy a live-trap” (for my brother’s missing cat). He said, “Oh- no, I’ve got one out front.” What?!? I thought, “Ooh- I’m TELLING!”
Susan in TN
@Kim S: So sorry to hear about Angel. How heartbreaking for Victor- that must have been terrible. He is in my thoughts and prayers. I hope he finds a buddy soon. Chopper seems so much happier to me. He and Chester will be moving Monday and as of Wednesday, Chopper has fallen in love with a new mare, Sherry. What timing! But surely, since he has only known her a short time, he will not pine for her. Someone say “right”!
Kim, I know that had to be very emotional for everyone today. I think horses form friendships that rival the bonds that elephants make- not that I have elephant experience. Glad William is doing well and your daughter is riding him a lot!
Debbie G
@Kari Bussell – After the way we’ve played the last few weeks, we have to laugh to keep from crying!
