Happy Friday, Everyone!
Suddenly it has become a bit chilly in Lexington. I need to have MY cozy blanket on for my early morning grazing fun with Matt! It is pretty out, though! The fall leaves will start to change soon…and the added color will really make the trees look amazing! This is MY first ‘fall’ in this regard for many years. In California, the seasons do not change as prominently as they do in Kentucky!
I am so pleased that YOU really like the idea of MY PARTY. So many fans have already responded and purchased tickets. If you have done so already…you are definitely in the first 500…so do not worry. The computer people are getting this refined for you so the people purchasing tickets in the future will know this information right away. This should all be completed today. Thank you for your patience!
I am also so excited about the incredible weekend of racing we are all going to be able to enjoy. From the East Coast to West Coast, it is one contentious stakes race after another with so many of the results having Breeders’ Cup ramifications. I love the fact that Havre de Grace and Blind Luck are each performing at such a high level. Their races are going to be so exciting! (I have a special fondness for the LADY’S SECRET which runs this weekend.) Then to see all of the other possibilities…whether turf or dirt for so many other terrific horses…will make handicapping GREAT FUN this weekend!
I can’t wait!
All the best to each of the horses competing during the next few days! All of my pals at Lane’s End and I will be watching!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Happy Friday, Zenny! I was so happy to turn my Santa Anita Calendar this morning to October and there you are with your dear Mario! (One more picture of you in the room just adds to the joy!) I’ve been smiling all day! Thank you! It’s gonna to be a great month–take care, Mama!
Kim S
Ah Zenny, you look so nice and cozy. It’s supposed to be littel cooler in Florida this weekend. But only for a few days. Can’t wait to see the horses in the cool part of the year.
@Susan in TN–William is wonderful, thanks for asking. My daughter is trying to ride him more often so they can become used to each other. Wish I could have a place for him at my house but then I would have to take Lacy too :) or listen to him cry :( And I really can’t, I live within the city limits of Tampa, FL so it’s not allowed. And they are truly happy at the rescue. Unfortunately, it was a sad day at the rescue. One of the Paso Finos, Angel, had to be put down due to laminitis. Her foal-hood friend and mate, Victor, was with her to hopefully ease his loss but he was still calling and looking for her. Heartbreaking :< Now he's like Chopper and is going to have to try to find another friend.
Still need to look at emails Zenny, will try to sneak back tomorrow at work–ssshhhh! Stay warm and have a great night.
All Z'sters, have a great night too and prayers to everyone.
Lotsa love to all.

I’m SO happy to hear the news that St. Trinians has been retired when they found something not right with one of her legs. she has more than earned a happy retirement. I’ve written here before that I will never forget her all-out, gutsy performance in the face of Zenyatta’s closing charge. She earned my total respect that day. Good luck, St. Trinians!!! love you!

Zenyatta, you look lovely in your sweater. Must stay cozy with baby on board. :)

Good evening Zenyatta,
my goodness, Zetty in her jammies, even matching your fur color. How chic. Looks like you’re doing very well, is T. T.’s sweater grey?
I bet you’re enjoying the cooler weather, too?!
Good luck & a safe return to everybody racing this week-end.
Sleep tight & dream sweet

Dear Sharon in Seattle:
Thanks for the info on St. Trinians. I’m glad they caught the problem before she raced. She will have a well deserved retirement, no doubt, as a Broodmare. Hope you are feeling well. Hugs, JB

Well, I will not be able to go because I cannot get the time off from work. I am very disappointed and would love to have been there. But I am so happy for all of you that will get the opportunity to go and see the Queen and her family. Please take lots of pictures for us and have a wonderful time! It will be a memory of a lifetime to see Her Majesty.

Dear Jan:
Actually, She ran 4 times in eleven days in August, which is why a lot of us were concerned. The last time she raced was 8/18/11 at Saratoga. She finished last and was walked off. She has been entered twice 9/21/11 and 9/30/11 and been scratch both times. She has about two works since August.
Hope the trainer is careful with her. Hugs, JB

I am way behind on reading comments…..I thought we had two Diary postings today and have been at Zenyatta’s Party announcement wondering where everybody was….LOLOL!!!
Kari Bussell
@Debbie G- LOLOL! 26 straight wins…That will be right before Tennessee plays Kentucky. We always play last of November… and Debbie just case you don’t remember ….I want to help refresh your memory and share this inspirational story with all our dumplinz who so love Big winning streaks… Tennessee’s 26 and counting straight victories over Kentucky is a huge SEC record….LOLOL….while Florida has never had close to that many straight wins against us, I do know what it is like to have your heart broken by same team over & over again…Just ask our beloved Peyton ….quoted as saying not ever beating Florida will always be thorn in his side….In recent years we have had such bad teams that I almost would have been happy for you guys to beat us…..I do have family in Kentucky..
Please don’t ban me from state of Kentucky…LOLOL! I will not be wearing orange to Zenny’s Party…..
@Texas A & M- Welcome to SEC-

Hi Zenyatta. You sure do look beautiful in your blanket – so flattering. We have gotten a break in the weather in Texas. Today it was just beautiful – in the 80s. Can’t wait to see the great racing this weekend. Wow, the Lady Secret without you. I sure do hope Blind Luck wins. I just love her. Hopefully, she will take to the new track in Santa Anita. I don’t think she ever cared about the old Santa Anita track before. Fingers are crossed. I will be going to put in bets at Lone Star Park tomorrow and will be wearing my Uncle Mo colors. Yea!!! Love you big girl, stay comfy, eat well for two and have a great time with TT and all of your friends. Love you, Angel in Disguise.

@Kim S—I’m so sorry that dreaded laminitis has claimed another victim and that Victor has lost his friend and mate. So sad. Chopper seems to have turned the corner, and we’ll hope for the same for Victor. Is he still young? Let us know how it goes for him. High hoof to your daughter and William getting accustomed to each other.
