Happy Friday, Everyone!
Suddenly it has become a bit chilly in Lexington. I need to have MY cozy blanket on for my early morning grazing fun with Matt! It is pretty out, though! The fall leaves will start to change soon…and the added color will really make the trees look amazing! This is MY first ‘fall’ in this regard for many years. In California, the seasons do not change as prominently as they do in Kentucky!
I am so pleased that YOU really like the idea of MY PARTY. So many fans have already responded and purchased tickets. If you have done so already…you are definitely in the first 500…so do not worry. The computer people are getting this refined for you so the people purchasing tickets in the future will know this information right away. This should all be completed today. Thank you for your patience!
I am also so excited about the incredible weekend of racing we are all going to be able to enjoy. From the East Coast to West Coast, it is one contentious stakes race after another with so many of the results having Breeders’ Cup ramifications. I love the fact that Havre de Grace and Blind Luck are each performing at such a high level. Their races are going to be so exciting! (I have a special fondness for the LADY’S SECRET which runs this weekend.) Then to see all of the other possibilities…whether turf or dirt for so many other terrific horses…will make handicapping GREAT FUN this weekend!
I can’t wait!
All the best to each of the horses competing during the next few days! All of my pals at Lane’s End and I will be watching!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Dear Zenny,
You are very fashionable and very well taken care of. My horse never went out in the cooler even cold weather to graze in a
blanket. He had to go out in his normal fur. He only wore sheets and blankets in his stall. One very very very cold morning I looked in his stall and there he was all bundled up like a black Crusader horse from Meidival times like the knights rode. He was covered from head to tail with what is called a heavy blanket. I really laughed so hard, he look at me like “what is wrong with you I am warm” as he chomped on his hay. Boy was it heavy and a lot of work to take off and put on. WHEW!!! I am sure you are going to have very fashionable “clothes” with Dottie and Ann buying your wardrobe. Have a great day in the paddock with TT. XXXXOOOO

Happy Friday!

Would love to go to Zenyattas party but we are little too far away! Hope everybody has a great time. @signofthetimes – please could you put the link on you mentioned (Bernardini), I have told Lauryn and she would like to look at him. Thanks.

@Alex Bowdoin
Thanks for posting the final information about the ARC. I will definately be up early Sunday AM to see Godi run and then her sis Gal in the ARC. So glad they are considering ground issue for Workforce; being large and heavy firm ground may not be good for his legs and could cause injuries. He is a gorgeous animal.
What an exciting race with such great talent. Can’t believe the “girls” are spotted 11 lbs on the top males. I love all the fillies running, too. An of course So You Think.

Galikova is out of Galileo; 1/2 sis to Goldi
Here is a nice link about her and a little comparison with sis by Freddy Head; she is the favored filly in the ARC

Oh I can’t see your belly. I sure hope the weather is nice one day when you are about ready to foal, so I get to see how wonderful you look fullblown prego. But most important keep warm and healthy. When my Jabez was in foal she got to hot with her light blanket on, yet we are in CA. Love you Zenyatta

@Susan In TN–thanks for your good wishes for our weather. Finally a break in the heat. DMCQ is a real champ! We love such kindness from fellow Dumplings. Yes, consistency is very important, I think. I would never want to wonder when my next meal is coming!
@Z>–how I wish I had not planned that trip to Colorado now. I could have come to your party. It’s just too close to when we get back to leave again and spend dollard allocated to other things. Rats!
@Kari Bussell–One of the reasons I hate to miss the party is that I would love to meet you! Have fun for us stuck at home. I have a secret to tell you, but I can’t tell the whole thing because it would ruin it. Last night we had the Welcome Back supper for our Baylor Lady Bear basketball team. We decided to make a special gift for Coach Summitt when our girls go to Knoxville to play the Lady Vols on November 27. I can’t tell what it is, but I hope she will be pleased.
Hugs and prayers.

Dear Z,
Happy Friday to you. Yes, Fall is my favorite season here in New England; beautiful colors. You look content and happy. Good luck and safe trips to all the horses this weekend. Rooting for Bernie’s boy, Stay Thirsty. Love you and love to all of you, Judy and Russ

Re: Galikova, she is BY Galileo and OUT OF Born Gold. Foals come ‘out of’ the mare so it’s an easy way to remember the term :-)
Zenyatta’s foal will be ‘by Bernardini out of Zenyatta’.

Again, thank you for sharing this lovely lady.

@signofthetimes, Thank you for sending those links. Galikova is quite a lovely filly…a bit different than her 1/2 sister. Very pretty and settles back quite nicely in the pack and what a “turn of foot”…She can run!!
Michelle Moore - England
@judy berube, thanks for the link, he is a lovely looking horse, looks quite small and compact. Lauryn is at her friends tonight so will show her tomorrow.

Dear Suzanne G.:
Wonder what’s happening with Indian Tale. She was entered at Laurel today in an Allowance race and was scratched. Guess R.Dutrow decided she wasn’t ready and had her work out instead. Hugs, JB

@Alex Bowdin
I like the way Freddy Head says he can “pat” Galikova and not Goldi “she is more coltish”. Have you seen Galikova in person?
Is she bigger than Goldi at 15.3 or 15.4 hands. I guess with Galileo as her sire she can run forever, not as limited like
Goldi. It is cute to when he says not sure if Galikova will last until 6 yrs old racing.
Jeanie
Dear Great One,
I am looking for great things tomorrow from your pal ZAZU in the Lady’s Secret. I like her and I think those other gals need to watch out for her on the rail. YOU HEARD IT HERE, Z’isters!
