Happy Monday, Everyone!
It was such a wonderful weekend of racing…plus I had so many fabulous times visiting with MY TEAM during the sales…that I thought it would be best to catch up on my rest!
I know there are some very exciting things happening in the next few weeks…and I really want to be perfectly rested so I can enjoy all of them.
MY JOHN loves this particular photo as he said I used to sleep like this with my head in this position all of the time when I was with him at BARN 55. I have to adjust my ‘tummy’ a bit at this time…as I am now literally ‘sleeping for 2’.
He also loved seeing how TASTY and I share such an endearing relationship. He commented to Dottie last night that the ‘kindness’ of our relationship shows even in this picture.
Tasty really is so sweet. She is always close by…and she literally watches over ME while I sleep. I am so fortunate. A dear friend, like she is to ME…and I am to her…is something to be truly treasured.
On another note, I also want to give a HIGH HOOF to Bernie and the performance of To Honor and Serve this weekend. This colt that he sired won the Pennsylvania Derby in great style…and established a new record while doing so in this victory. Congratulations to all who are involved with this wonderful colt.
Our sport….it is truly very special!
Enjoy your day!
With love,
Hugs to All~

Dear Suzanne Pashayan:
Thank you so much for sharing that Too Cute story about Bess and the calf. Welcome any stories you have to share with us about her. What a personality. Hugs, J.B.

Dear Doreen:
You’re so welcome. I always loved Skip Away. It’s wonderful that his trainer, Sonny Hine was so generous in sharing Skip Away with your friend. Hugs, J.B.

Dear Signofthetimes:
I do tell Russ all of Terry C’s jokes and he has a good laugh. Hugs, J.B.

Dear Jeanie:
There’s something called the Ferdinand Clause that some of the owners/breeders now put in the contracts on stallions when they are shipped to stud in Japan or elsewhere. They get to come back home when they’re pensioned. That all happened when the news of Ferdinand, 1986 Kentucky Derby winner, was slaughtered in Japan in 2002. Unbelievable. Hugs, J.B.

Good morning Zetty,
I fully realize that your VIPs will come up with sthg smashing of their own in maning your & their little bundle.
I think March Madness is a strong name for both, filly or colt.
Or if it is a filly, how about
She Ought To Be Outlawed
cause we all know she’ll be a scene stealer, a devil-may-care-strutter, a mad mane flipper, all the good stuff girls do.
Haha heehee
Am chuckle:
If Shaw & Einstein couldn’t beat death, what chance have I got? Practically none. Mel Brooks
Have a great day

My Amazing, precious, beautiful, Great Champion of a Lifetime Queen, I love you! I just love this picture of you along with all of the new pictures your “Dear John & Dottie” & Sarah Campion have shared with us. You just get more beautiful, if that is possible. You and Tasty have such a special friendship. We humans are very lucky if we have a “Tasty” in our lives. Thanks to YOU my Queen I have several “Tastys” in my life. I am so grateful for all the friendship, loyalty, love, joy, thrills , chills, anticipation, inspiration, fight, beauty, awe, wonder & life YOU have given me. I will honestly be eternally grateful to YOU, Dottie & YOUR Entire Team for all the Kindness, Love, Generosity of Spirit , Joy & Wonder that has been blessed upon us …..all because of YOU!!!…..ZENYATTA!!
In the dictionary under the words JOY & Friends it should have your name and your picture Our Forever Queen of Hearts Zenyatta!
PS- My Love- Did I mention reining 2010 Horse of the Year …..and that I Love YOU!!-
Joanna from TX
Wonderful pictures of the girls! I wondered to if this ‘guarding’ thing was common in horse herds; I would think so.
I have to confess tho, that my favorite post-racing pix of Z is the one of her and 4 other mares all laying down together on a gentle hillside. It was from a while back, so not recent. They’re all looking right at the camera.
@Lynn-congrats on the 5 pt major! Not a easy thing to get. I owned/showed Afghan Hounds and my parent’s Beagles (kennel name Starcrest) for many years back in the 60s-70s.
@Patricia-wow, I hadn’t heard of anyone doing coursing in ages! I did a little bit of that with an Afghan bitch I had, but we were in huge pastures and went for live prey (that always got away). Neighbors of my parents had Salukis. Cool dogs. Fun to watch them run along the common fence line with our Afghans on the other side.

Zenny-what adorable, peaceful pictures! TT has your back, doesn’t she? And I’m sure you have her’s. Love you, big girl. <3
Molly
Zenyatta, you keep good company. I guess you know that Tasty’s pedigree includes Dr. Fager, one of the all time great thoroughbreds. In fact one sportswriter recently placed him at #1. I would love to know what you girls talk about in your easy, breezy afternoons. Love ya.

@Lynn and Patricia: Congrats with your dogs’ successes!
@ Joanna from TX: I loved that picture of Zenny and The Girls, too. Somebody referred to them as “The Sphinxes”! When I showed my dogs in obedience in the 70’s, there was an Afghan hound who was working on her CDX or UD-can’t remember- who would joyously, effortlessly jump from one ring to another- it was very entertaining to all except the poor guy who owned her- he was going to every trial he could to get her last ‘leg’ and he was so MAD- I guess frustrated is a better word. Anyway, Afghan hounds are so beautiful to watch run (and jump!).

@Suzanne P: Loved the story about Bess!

@Linda E in Ohio-…. @Diane S-…. @ Brenda S-…. @ Judy B- …@Barbara Wood- Thank you for your prayers & warm wishes. This past week I started a new medicine that has had some success in Europe . I have to get to Atlanta at least once a week. I am blessed to have this rare chance (low odds, but chance) by a fellow Z- Dumpling….who got me in with this Doctor. As some know here in USA we have a shortage of medicine especially for cancer and the FDA is life costing in it’s snails pace of approval….I am very, very blessed to have any chance at this point….whatever the future holds I have beaten the odds for well over 3 years. I am full of love for life and joy that I am still here. I hope you all have a great day.Go do something that gives you true JOY! Love & Joy to All
@Terry Crowe- LOLOL! Great jokes! I am still getting caught up.

Delightful picture!

What beautiful photos of you and your dear friend Tasty. She obviously adores you and why not…we all do. There is nothing in the world more satisfying than a dear friend and you obviously have one in Tasty. And yes indeed To Honor and Serve was awesome in his race over the weekend. Bernie makes beautiful and talented babies.

@Lynn Martin: Congratulations on your 5 pt. major at such prestigious event. I spoke to a woman at an Omaha dog show. She had a pretty Vizla bitch at her side and as we talked the dog reared up and clasped her front paws around the woman’s waist and put her head against her chest. I was captivated. The woman said she always got hugs from the dog. I’ve never had the yard space for a Vizla but have wanted one ever since then.

@Kari Bussell– what a joy it is to have you back. I was so worried! Will pray that this treatment is effective, and I’m so grateful a fellow Dumpling stepped up for you!
@suzanne pashayan–thanks for the great Bess stories. I’ll have to read more about her.
@judy berube–thanks for the great research you do for us.
Good morning, Z– I could look at these pictures of you for hours on end.

Vizsla’s are very very very loving dog and they also love their job, so are only clinging for short periods and move on to searching for birds, little creatures and running running running.
Really great dog!!!

Dearest Sweet “Z” and not so little “z”,
Thank you for the darling photo of Tasty T. and ‘Yours Truly!’ It is heartwarming to see the three of you together relaxing and enjoying each others company. I especially like to see you reclining as I remember you so well dancing and prancing into the Winners Circle!

Dawn: Thank you for thinking of me and remembering little Shawnee. Another Chi-lover! I am not surprised :) She is still ‘goose-honking’ when she does not receive her medication but she is doing well other wise. She can’t get into too much trouble as I always know where she is!
…………………………………
TC: Lucky for me that you are plumb out of Blonde jokes! I cannot think of any ‘off the top of my head either!’ :)
………………………………..
Barbara W: Thank you again! Have a blessed Today!
DJ
JB: Did not forget your hugs :)

sweet picture of you and Tasty! Like an 18th Cent. painting. Are you catching up on your ZZZZZZZZs? (wink, wink)

Arthurs Tale needs some love too. He is a son of Bernardini and came 4th in the race To Honor & Serve won. He was out with an injury for months and is on the comeback trail.

Yes I’m very fortunate to have a grandson of Seattle Slew. Along with the speed in the line you get an amazing personality with it! All the horses I have met with Slew in there lines are so sweet all the time, and are fast to boot!
