Good Morning,
My JOHN got a chance to download some of his photos last night…so I wanted to share a few of them with you. It has been so exciting seeing everyone. As usual, we always have a great time together.
Here I am whispering ‘sweet thoughts’ into My John’s ear. At this moment, I really gave a great deal of thought to playing the ‘hat game’ with him as well. It was rather windy at this particular time…so I decided to just ‘kiss’ him on the cheek. I have done this so many times in the past. It brought back so many special memories to ME and I know to him!
What a wonderful day we all shared!
This weekend seems to be packed with a great deal of stakes action at several different racing venues. I am particularly interested in the KENT which is on the turf at Delaware Park and the Pennsylvania Derby on the main track at Parx. Both races are for 3 year olds going 1 1/8. It is great to see how horses continue to develop and mature at this stage. I am especially interested in the Parx race as Bernie sired one of the main contenders, TO HONOR AND SERVE.
I must say, I do keep track of ‘his’ horses and how they are performing at the race track. His babies sold very well in the various yearling sales to date and his horses are running very competitively all over the world! This is such GREAT NEWS!
I’m proud of you, BERNIE!
On the West Coast, Fairplex is concluding their meet…and then back to Santa Anita for their Autumn Meet of Racing. Opening day is September 30th. This marks the beginning of a great time of racing on the West Coast as one terrific race meet follows another from this point forward for the next 11 plus months.
I hope you enjoy all of the FUN! Good Luck to all of the horses competing this weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

Dear Suzanne G.:
Thanks for the update. Have been following her and I checked to see who scratched her. Dutrow, her trainer did. The track is very muddy at Belmont today as we have had a lot of rain on the East Coast. So even though she was entered as MTO, and the race was taken off the Turf, I guess he didn’t want her running in the mud. I think he did the right thing here for the horse. Hugs, J.B.

Dear Peggy (N):
Wishing you a fun trip to Kentucky. Please give all the Sweet Horses you visit a hug from me. Hugs, J.B.

@Vicki B– THANKS for posting that Madeleine Pickens link. That’s a great one! This is my second attempt to respond about the link that wouldn’t post because my first response got “awaiting moderation” even though I used only a couple parts of the link. The link I couldn’t post was as you describe but had “about” at the end.

MMM was too cute in Nashua. Read there is a mystery

Be MMM. Wouldn’t that be fun.

@Laura J and Judy B–I too don’t see any link to Valley View Ranch Equine Rescue on either fb page. I think they got removed.

Let me try the Pickens address:

@Judy B and @Trina, I checked and my post is there. Near the top of the FB page under the title and pictures, there is a small line that says Wall on the far left. Toward the right, it says “Zenyatta.Everyone (Most Recent)”. If you click “everyone” you’ll be able to see posts by others. Unfortunately, it seems to default to just Zenyatta’s posts.

@Peggy N., if you decide to come in November, a lot of the farms have open houses during that period. They’re announced in Thoroughbred Times and other publications, or you can call the farms and ask. They are usually open to the public, but their purpose is to attract mare owners. They are more in-depth than the regular tours, and there is food. No matter when you come, don’t forget to schedule an Old Friends tour. You can also visit Brass Hat at his farm near Frankfort. It’s only about 15-20 minutes from Old Friends. There’s also the Bourbon Trail if you like such things.

@Lou Naylor–welcome! Where are you in TX?

@Zenny, Dottie, and Team Z: What a special treat to come back to this site after several busy days away to see such happy photos! Oh Dottie, couldn’t YOUR JOHN have waited just a second for you to brush your windblown hair aside? Silly men. But we love him anyway!
@All: Also a treat to see so many new names posting here! Welcome to the Z blog family to all the new “Dumplings”!

@JAG
Thanks for info on THS and his win. My TV is on
The blink so unable to see the race. He is a very powerful
And talented colt. Not a late bloomer like I said before as
He had wins at 2 yo. Sorry Johnny V you chose the
Wrong horse!!!!!

@Laura J—I clicked where you said, but I still didn’t find it, so I posted my own comment with link, and it came up. Hope it stays up, and thank you for posting.
