Good Morning,
My JOHN got a chance to download some of his photos last night…so I wanted to share a few of them with you. It has been so exciting seeing everyone. As usual, we always have a great time together.
Here I am whispering ‘sweet thoughts’ into My John’s ear. At this moment, I really gave a great deal of thought to playing the ‘hat game’ with him as well. It was rather windy at this particular time…so I decided to just ‘kiss’ him on the cheek. I have done this so many times in the past. It brought back so many special memories to ME and I know to him!
What a wonderful day we all shared!
This weekend seems to be packed with a great deal of stakes action at several different racing venues. I am particularly interested in the KENT which is on the turf at Delaware Park and the Pennsylvania Derby on the main track at Parx. Both races are for 3 year olds going 1 1/8. It is great to see how horses continue to develop and mature at this stage. I am especially interested in the Parx race as Bernie sired one of the main contenders, TO HONOR AND SERVE.
I must say, I do keep track of ‘his’ horses and how they are performing at the race track. His babies sold very well in the various yearling sales to date and his horses are running very competitively all over the world! This is such GREAT NEWS!
I’m proud of you, BERNIE!
On the West Coast, Fairplex is concluding their meet…and then back to Santa Anita for their Autumn Meet of Racing. Opening day is September 30th. This marks the beginning of a great time of racing on the West Coast as one terrific race meet follows another from this point forward for the next 11 plus months.
I hope you enjoy all of the FUN! Good Luck to all of the horses competing this weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

@Judy B, I saw the link here. I wanted to put it on Z’s Facebook page because I think it probably gets more traffic. It’s there, but you have to click “everyone” to see all comments. I also posted it on Rachel’s FB page. Let me know if it still isn’t showing up.

@Peggy N, Fasig Tipton has a sales facility in the Lexington area, on the north-east side. It might be in Paris or Georgetown. I’m not exactly sure. F-T has an October yearling sale and a November sale. The November sale is a big deal, with a lot of high-class horses going through. They sell weanlings and adult horses, some actively racing at high levels. I think it’s a one-day sale, or maybe two-day. Keeneland also has a November sale of similar horses. They have good ones too, although F-T usually gets the cream.

@ Peggy (N)
Hope you can find a sale and a visit to LE in Oct or Nov next year; Laura J had more detail information. Sounds like the Fastig Tipton in Nov, although not yearlings, would provide a look at the “rich and famous”equines. Maybe even a look at Shiek Mohammed !!!
Hope it works out.

Love the mother and daughter equine link; looks like for free you
can join and maybe get screen savers; photos etc…
@Trina Nagel
Lovely poem about Z; it has so much of what we talked about on the website. A talent extrodinare; both of you.

My thoughts and prayers are with Better Talk Now, Banned and Tizway (fever but not critical like other two).
@TrinaN: LOVE the poem- I hope/wish Ann could get a copy!I realize I don’t REALLY know her, but I’ll bet she’d get a kick out of it!
Favorite horse book(s): There are many, but probably the top two for me are Black Beauty and King of the Wind. I have a copy of Black Beauty that was my grandmother’s, then my mom’s, then mine and now my daughter’s. It had a profound effect on me.
RE:Movie: I remember the movie about the boy and white horse but barely. Camargue sounds familiar as part of a movie I saw.
@Kari B and Amanda G: Where ye be?
@Sharon in Seattle: Hope you are doing well and have a great weekend!
@LouAnn Cingel: Thinking of you and hope you also feel well.
@Terry Crow: Funny! Have a great time with your daughter!
Thank you to all for great comments and links- look forward to checking them out!

@Dawn Conrad: Hi, friend! Thanks for posting Three Chimney’s response to the loss of Rahy and links to photos. Glad he lived where he was so loved. <3
