Happy Thursday!
I am still basking in the glow of all of the attention I have been receiving the past few weeks from ‘my family and close friends’. In the Diary posts, several of you asked if MY TEAM was able to come to Lane’s End and visit with ME during the Sale. The answer is ABSOLUTELY YES. They were here on several occasions. We always share so many great times together!
John promised Dottie last night that he would download the photos so we can share them with you. Since everyone is just settling in at home post Del Mar and Kentucky, it has been rather busy. So, I’ll have them for you soon. In some, I’m simply sleeping. I guess they think it is fun to even watch ME do that!
This baby thing is really becoming quite fascinating to ME! I’m learning that babies grow up and that they come in so many different sizes! Here I am with Brian, Jeanne’s grandson. He is absolutely adorable! I can tell he has been around a lot of horses in his life…he knows WE LIKE SNACKS!
I’m off to roam around in the paddock now with Tasty. She is such a dear friend. We are great paddock mates…and get along fabulously!
Enjoy your day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

What a darling picture you look so peaceful and happy to be with such a cute little guy. I still seem to be in Zenyatta withdrawl and watching the Breeder’s cup advertisement brings tears to my eyes. I have become a big fan of Winter Memories and got pretty darned excited watching her come from behind and thinking how much she reminds me of you.
@Dottie: thank you so much for all your posts and REALLY did miss you while you were away but am sure all of you enjoyed being a family again for just a bit.
xxoo to all Z fans

Zenyatta,

@DJ-Good news, indeed. @Kimberly Potter-Hope everything goes well from here on. @Deborah Richman-Hope everything is ok with kitty. @Dawn Conrad-You are too modest. It is a pleasure to exchange thoughts with you. @Kari Bussell and Susan in TN-You m ight be a redneck if your goat sang at your wedding. You might be a redneck if you have ever run someone off a bridge during a funeral procession. You might be a redneck if you have ever given your kid an entire bottle of Exlax prior to visiting the fake Santa at the mall. You might be a redneck if one of your funeral requests to to have YMCA played on the bagpipes. Here is today’s joke. My apologies to blondes but this is the way I heard it. I blind guy on a bar stool shouts to the bartender “Anyone want to hear a blonde joke?” In a hushed voice, the guy next to him said “Before you tell that joke, you should know something. Our bartender is blonde. The bouncer is blonde. The guy sitting next to you is 6’2″, blonde, weighs 225 pounds and is a rugby player. The fella to his right is 6’5″, blonde, pushing 300 pounds and is a wrestler. I’m blonde, six feet tall and have a black belt. Think about it mister. Do you still want to tell that joke?” THe blind guy then says “NO, not if I have to explain it five times.”

Zeny,I absolutely love the photo of you looking down so sweetly at little Brian! I wish the photos were setup so we could click on them and they would zoom to 100% size. These little tiny photos are nice but sure wish I could super size them and use as my desktop background.

To JB, Kimberly, Deborah and TC: Thank you…so special to come on ‘Z’s Green and be encouraged by the caring of special souls such as the ones found here! So appreciated! Shawnee ate for the first time in three days and is not coughing when she breathes. All is well. And TC: Sorry Grandma flopped :):):) (thanks for the smiles…always as medicinal as the prayers!)

@JAG from California. The story about the dumpling contest is sad but also brought back memories. My grandmother made varenikis whenever I came to visit. We ate them with sour cream or maple syrup. Now I only get the true “old country” style vareniki when attending the West Coast Mennonite Sales & Auction (http://www.westcoastmccsale.org/). For anyone in California who loves handmade quilts this is the place to attend. Every year they have a wonderful quit sale. I have bought quite a few over the years at this event (which is always held around Easter time).

Hello sweet Zenny & Dottie & Zen-sters:
I’ve been posting somewhat erratically as regulars know due to a triad of pressing family commitments, most not particularly pleasant in nature. PLUS, as luck would have it, my printer-scanner has gone belly-up, making it difficult to post articles on THE VAULT for the moment. (Hope to be up & running in another 10-14 days on THE VAULT, once I get a new scanner-printer!) On the bright side, I did purchase THE VAULT as a domain, so could, at some point in the future, actually have my very own website!!! But that won’t be automatic — I need to look into the nuts & bolts of websites first. Still — an exciting prospect!
While I’m at it, thank you to everyone here who likes the idea of THE VAULT publishing a magazine or etc. Something else to think about — and that I will do.
I have missed everyone but have read most of the posts, if not all. And Zenny — your legs are starting to look a little shorter, thanks to Baby Zee ! But these are just ADORABLE photos of you with the little munchkin. So glad your family got lots of quality time with you, big girl.
This is a non-horsey addition to today’s post, also directed at those who just LOVE TO READ. This is my absolutely favourite blog, from a RABID READER in the UK:
