Happy Thursday!
I am still basking in the glow of all of the attention I have been receiving the past few weeks from ‘my family and close friends’. In the Diary posts, several of you asked if MY TEAM was able to come to Lane’s End and visit with ME during the Sale. The answer is ABSOLUTELY YES. They were here on several occasions. We always share so many great times together!
John promised Dottie last night that he would download the photos so we can share them with you. Since everyone is just settling in at home post Del Mar and Kentucky, it has been rather busy. So, I’ll have them for you soon. In some, I’m simply sleeping. I guess they think it is fun to even watch ME do that!
This baby thing is really becoming quite fascinating to ME! I’m learning that babies grow up and that they come in so many different sizes! Here I am with Brian, Jeanne’s grandson. He is absolutely adorable! I can tell he has been around a lot of horses in his life…he knows WE LIKE SNACKS!
I’m off to roam around in the paddock now with Tasty. She is such a dear friend. We are great paddock mates…and get along fabulously!
Enjoy your day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Thanks for the great photo’s. When I see them in the morning it makes my day so much happier and positive, even when the chores are tiresome!
Have a great day with TT, such great gal pals. They are the BEST.

Hello Zeny: Happy to hear John and your team were able to visit. Such cute pictures of Brian feeding you. I remember when I first visited you – I have never fed a horse. A nice lady who was visiting you too shared her carrot so I could feed you. I will never forget this expereince. We were so lucky as there were only 3 of us visiting. That whole hour was my first experience going to the Barn and meeting and touching the greatest mare of all time. Thanks to your team for sharing you with us. You will always hold a special place in my heart, Zeny. Take care of yourself and baby. Hugs and prayers going your way. Marilu

Dear Sweet “Z” and little “z”! What a precious photo of little Brian feeding you! You look radiant and relaxed… motherhood becomes Y.O.U.! Please thank Dottie for her time and I look forward to see the photos of you sleeping with your little one!
………………………………….
For “Z” Friends who would like to start the day with a prayer:
Thank you Lord for giving us the light of this new day.
Accept all that we are doing and plan to do today.
Our eyes rejoice at the gift of a new day;
may our hearts rejoice as you dawn in them.
Grant us the gift of being patient with everyone,
so that we can be like you.
This morning, Lord, help us understand your compassion;
may your joy give us strength through the day.
Keri Mattingly
I love how sweet and gentle you are with the little one, I know you will be a wonderful Mommy! (((HUGS)))

To Marshall, Susan, Trina, Barbara, JB and all Sweet “Z Dumplingz” who cared and expressed concern about little Shawnee my long-haired Chihuahua. She made it through and is home now. Her trachea was prolapsing, unfortunatley a common ailment in these particular breeds. It is worse when they are older or have heart trouble, and she is in both categories. We caught it early though, so she is doing well so far. Mj: I hope and pray your little ‘child’ has much more time to love and play with you too!! Blessing to All for a wonderful Today :)

@ ALL HORSE LOVERS ~ This story came out on 9/18, so it may have been previously posted by someone else. If not ~ THIS IS A MUST READ!!! My jaw dropped as I read the story ~ by the end, I had tears!!! God bless TONK!
Gutsy wrangler, huge horse save boy from charging grizzly:
“Tonk isn’t the typical trail mount. Best anyone knows, he’s the result of cross-breeding a quarter horse with a Percheron – a draft horse. Bolster is 5-foot-10, yet she relies on her athleticism to climb into the saddle aboard Tonk.”

I’m assuming your team will be visiting you again during the Breeders Cup weekend. We’ll be there again, too, but will miss you terribly. Nothing could ever be better than that exciting weekend in 2010, and meeting you (and John) on Sunday morning after… Glad to hear your having a good time with Tasty and enjoying your visitors and treats. Take Care Zenny!

@Mary, well said. GOD did send her to Ann and Jerry and John and Dottie and Mario and Carmen, and Steve and Mike. I am so glad she was in their hands and not someone else’s. These pictures are beyond cute. Zenny was has always been the sweetest horse to feed treats. She never looks like she is going to take your fingers off. A gentle soul with children.

@DJ-Hope everything’s OK with Shawnee. @Vicki B, Rosemary McCauley and Barbara Wood-Glad you are enjoying the jokes. @Dawn Conrad-I was not aware of the book about Franklin. Thank you. I have read a bio on General Patrick Cleburne, one of the four who was stretched out on the porch. I am impressed with your comprehensive knowledge of the Civil War. @Judy Berube-Thank you for being you. @Peggy (N)-The next problem that will have to be faced is what will happen to the remains of Lost in the Fog and Silky Sullivan when Golden Gate Fields is razed. May not be that far off. @Brenda S-Someone is getting a break, but I don’t think it is little Johnny’s dad. @JAG and Lynn-That is one lucky little boy. He will certainly have bragging rights with the other kids. @Kari Bussell and Susan in TN-You might be a redneck if you have hidden Easter eggs under cow pies. You might be a redneck if one of your kids was born on a pool table. You might be a redneck if your kitchen doubles as a bait store.

I am sure Happy that it was You who broke my Dad’s Record…Fun Fact:)…On August 7, 2010, Zenyatta broke the world record (set by Rock of Gibraltar) for consecutive (8) Grade/Group I victories, when she finished 1st at the Clement L. Hirsch Handicap in Del Mar, CA

Oh, thank goodness YOUR TEAM did have a visit with you. I was rather disappointed when it sounded like their schedule would not allow it. I just could not imagine that, so thanks for the clarification, Dottie. Zenyatta you are so precious.
Linda
The look on your face, dear Z, is priceless – your kindness and sweetness just shine! We all could learn a lesson in loving ways from you, gentle giant.
Lauren
Dear Zenny – you look so beautiful. Do you ever feel the baby kick? I wonder what that feels like. I am sure you will be a fabulous mom to Baby Z.
Hugs and kisses beautiful girl.
Molly
Good afternoon, Zen. Looks like you are getting in some practice as to handling little ones. I know that you will make a great mother. I am hoping that your first delivery will be a race horse that exceeds all expectations.

Zenny, this picture shows the gentleness of your spirit and your love for children. Whenever I see a picture of you with little ones I get such a peaceful feeling sweep over me. It’s as if something heavenly is there … an aura you can see even through a computer screen. How exciting it will be when your baby comes…you will be an excellent mother. I cannot thank the Mosses, Dottie and John and LE enough for allowing us to continue on a journey with you. YOU are the bright spot of any day.
Karen Keen

Hi Little Girl!! I missed you last week but it was worth the wait. You have never looked more beautiful than you do now. It must be the mommy to be glow. Also, I must comment on Winter Memories win which was so spectacular. One of the reasons it was great was because she made that great “Zenyatta Move” to the outside and then ran her heart out. It brought back memories of your incredible run in the 09 BC Classic. I sure do miss seeing you on the track. I adore Winter Memories but she’s not you darling. See you next time.

So good to get another post from you today! Love those ears Z and love you so much too Zenyatta!

You are such a beauty, love seeing all the pictures of you. I am also jealous of the people that get to meet you. About this time last year I was making my final preparations to fly out to watch you win Race #19, which was the biggest thrill of my life. Love you!!

Just love the pics and you sure are looking good Zenyatta-love that baby bump and it sure is getting quite noticeable now. Your sweet little baby is a growin and she is a showing-how sweet it is! Sure looking forward to the birth and hope that I am fortunate enough to be around when she is born so that I am able to see what she looks like and hope too to be around so that I am able to watch her grow up in the world. Looking forward to the upcoming pics that your family and John took recently-they always share so much of you with us all and I appreciate it more than anyone knows-brings so much happiness to my life. Thankyou everyone for all you do here and for all the sharing. My Love & Blessings always to you Zenyatta and your family and team!
